Dark clouds covered the sky, being so dense and heavy that the sun was completely covered. It was still morning, but it seemed that it was already night. The people of Eramus City, the capital of Eiram, had been in panic, they knew that it signaled the approaching of one of the super cyclones. The last time that it happened was a hundred years ago.

These cyclones were powerful. The last one had engulfed almost an entire hemisphere and this one wasn’t different. It had already hit some parts of the planet and was now moving toward the capital. The local government wasn’t able to help all those affected by the storm, with the King having requested help from the Jedi Order.

Several Jedi had arrived in Eiram to help. Their numbers were split between those that were going to help the Eiramians that were already affected by the cyclone, while the other half would help in the evacuation of the people from the areas that had yet to be hit by the storm, especially in the capital. Being close to the sea, it was expected that large waves would hit it soon.

Elidan and Prani were part of the first group. At the moment, they were flying in a transport toward a small town that had suffered from the cyclone. “We are going to work with the rescue teams to help the Eiramians here. Another Jedi will come to help us later.” he explained to the Padawan, before turning to look at the nearby window.

Even with the cyclone having moved away, rain was still falling and the wind was still strong. It would take some time until the weather went back to normal. Through the window, he saw a flooded area that used to be a farm. “I hope that the others will be able to evacuate the people before more places are hit by the cyclone.

Prani was dressed in a rain poncho, but that was hardly enough to keep from getting her hair soaked. She could barely hear Elidan over the howling winds. The locals had no warning of the storm, caught off guard as the cyclones swept homes and families out to sea. While rescue efforts were made to bring some back, there were many still missing.

She could hardly hear what Elidan was saying but made out most of it, “I’ll get them sorted!” She shouted back, squinting as she made her way towards the groups of people waiting outside their homes. She could hear a commotion in the distance, appalled to find that some people were smashing open grocery stores to use this moment to steal food.

Hey!” Prani called out to one of the looters, using the Force to coil around them and yank them back, “We gotta have rations for everyone! Now ain’t the time to be actin’ like that!” She said as she ran over to confront the group.

If it wasn’t for his keen hearing, Elidan was sure that he wouldn’t be able to hear what Prani was saying. The wind was howling so loud that the half-Annfyn wondered if the cyclones were still around. He soon realized that, if he was having trouble hearing the Padawan, it would be even worse for her to understand him. He would need to think in a better way for them to communicate in the middle of this storm.

Perhaps it was time to introduce the idea of a telepathic bond.

When they left the transport, Elidan was finally able to see the extent of the damage caused by the storm. Buildings had been literally blown away, some streets were completely flooded and landslides have happened in the hills that surrounded the town. The Jedi were going to have a long day.

Around them, rescue teams were already working to excavate the debris after people that could have been buried. The citizens that escaped that fate were trying to recover some of their personal items from what remained from their houses before they were evacuated. Others, however, had started to loot the place.

Elidan had been carrying a box with medicine when he saw a group looting grocery shops that had remained intact. Before he could do anything, the half-Annfyn saw Prani rushing there to stop the sacking. The first thing that crossed his mind was to rush there and help her. However, he soon remembered that the Padawan needed to learn how to do it alone and that he shouldn’t be overprotective.

He would leave her to control this situation alone, while remaining close to intervene if a fight broke there. Apparently, Prani’s use of the Force had been enough to make the people stop and think on her words. “Do you have fresh water?” one asked and soon all of them were shouting questions about the rations to the Padawan.

Please! Do you have milk formula? My baby has nothing to eat!” a male human shouted among the crowd. Elidan wondered how Prani would deal with this situation. Everyone there wanted the rations, but some had more priority than others. The Padawan would need to choose who should receive the supplies first and the other side wasn’t going to be happy.

While she made her choice, Elidan prepared a nearby place where rations could be delivered. However, he was still paying attention to Prani and the crowd, just in case.
