The wall of bone was covered in an invisible barrier, courtesy of the Dark Side. The sight looked macabre, yet in effect it made a perfectly square battlefield for the duelists. The three Champions, Jade, Anhur, and Fester, would be put to the test against each other in a fight using whatever they had on them and what skills they possessed. Even now the Empress was watching, so they had better perform well. It didn't seem like the Darkness wanted them to take an lives, yet it wasn't adverse to seeing brutality, either. It waited hungrily for the fun to begin.

((OOC: Jade and Fester will fight first with Anhur behind a barrier, able to watch but not interfere with their fight. Anhur will then fight the winner of the first duel. This fight will be PVP, but death disabled. Serious injury and the like, however, ARE enabled. The fight ends when one opponent forfeits or is knocked out. Have fun!)

Jade waited, making sure her weapons were alight, her armor was looking good, and mentally preparing herself to face one of the two men she had just worked with to get this far.

Having done what she could to prepare herself for the fight, she pulled out her blaster in her left hand and her blade in her right, igniting it and raising it in a salute towards the two men. This was another opportunity to catch the eye of the Empress. This time she would catch it all on her own.

Anhur waited behind the barrier in his heavy black armour, his vibro-Sword was out in front of him his hands lay on the hilt keeping upright, his thunder slug was holstered on his hip alongside his light sabre.

his posture was relaxed since he knew had to wait until one of the oppositions on the other side had yielded before he could fight himself so he might as well enjoy the show. he saw the salute from the redhead, he nodded back to gesture confirmation and respect and shouted through the barrier "May the best warrior win!" he smiled as he did for he was expecting a good fight between them but he hoped they would do significant damage to each over making it easier for him to beat the survivor.

When Fester caught on on what was going to happen, he lifted his rifle and immediately fired once at Jade.

Jade caught the blaster bolt on her blade and deflected it back at Fester, at the same time raising her own blaster and firing two shots at him, one at each thigh. At the same time she opened herself up to the Force and began sucking it in preparation for the future. Her blade was still held in front of her in a defensive stance and she was ready for whatever Fester would throw at her next.

As the loser fell to the ground, the air seemed to ripple around the victorious Champion and the one who still hadn't had a chance to fight. The ground burst forth with tendrils of pure darkness, wrapping around the victor and the other until they were taken from sight, though there were no one else around to see them at this point anyway. It was time for the last leg of the Gauntlet, something that the surviving contestants would need to work together in order to defeat. Or not, it would be their choice. Perhaps they would think themselves powerful enough on their own to face the creature they were on their way towards, an echo of a confrontation that had shaken the very core of the world it had happened on. Regardless, the Empress was still watching. She had yet to decide on the winners yet.

((OOC: The last thread of the Gauntlet will take the winners from each fight to put them against one final foe. I'll have that thread up soon. Fester timed out, so he's the loser of this fight. Jade and Anhur move on to the last part.))
