I've been holding this in for a long time, but now I can't take it anymore. For weeks I've been debating whether or not to leave the site, and I've finally decided to take the jump. I came to this site years ago because I wanted to explore the world of Star Wars, meet people, create adventures, and most importantly have fun. And for a long time I did have fun doing all of those things, but recently the site for me has gone from a fun escape from everyday life to a painful, obligatory slog. I feel like the choice presented before me now is to become a glorified NPC in an admin's main faction, try to eke out a living as an Indie and wait for someone to call me a threat and destroy me, or retreat into a corner and functionally become a fanfiction writer, telling little stories far from the rest of the galaxy with my character and their handful of friends. None of that is fun to me, the way I've been playing for the past few months isn't fun for me.

Don't get me wrong, I've made a lot of great friends on this site who I'm going to miss hanging out and writing with. But I can't stay here anymore if the one reason I came for in the first place, fun, is gone and doesn't appear to be coming back anytime soon. I'm not in that many threads, and those few I'm in can continue on without me, but if you do need my presence in a thread I'll stick around to see it through. After that, I'm gone, and I don't know when I'll be coming back.

So in the meantime, I'd like to give a shoutout to all the people that did make SWRP fun while it lasted.

@Nefieslab, @Insalius, @TenthCodex, @Herrith, @AutoFox, @Danee, @Hughwee, @Armcore, @Yuan, @Minuteman75, @One For Sorrow, @anzat17, @Versok, @Nor'baal, @TWD26, @TheBrokenMadMan, you guys and more made this site for me.

I wish you all the best, and may the Force be with you

You were asked to clarify what your faction was doing because no one can tell what it's doing anymore. That's it. Literally, that was it. Ask questions if you're confused on what's being asked of you.

Peace out.

Happy trails Cap :)

Sorry to see you go man. I liked what you were doing with the FTG/F. But I also agree with @Sreeya. It's not meant to put a wrench in your plans (I don't think anyway), just to see if your a political force that the overall galaxy needs to work with/around. Its kind of a good problem to have as a Indie faction.

In any case, good luck bud. Hope you return sooner rather then later.

Sorry you feel that way! Kudos to you for making a faction that seems to have given alot of people enjoyment, that is easier said than done and is an accomplishment. This thing should also be about enjoyment so I understand wanting to step away if it isnt fun anymore. Best of luck and maybe we will see you around again someday!

Sorry to see you leave. Take a deep breath, think things through. Sit back and reflect, regardless I'll still consider you a friend.

It's always a bummer when someone leaves because they're not having fun anymore. That's precisely what the site is for, and tons of people have had a ton of fun here for many years. I hate to see people go because they're not. I read some of the FTG stuff and kinda dug it.

That said, I'm really scratching my head over your issues. Its really incongruous. FTG hasn't been forced to do anything that any other faction of significant size hasn't been asked to do. What's more is that as far as I can tell, they haven't been subjected to any significant outside scrutiny or intervention until very recently (even though nothing serious has happened yet) which is NOT typical for any faction of significant size. You say you dont want to sit in a corner and write fan fic, but you also dont seem to want to be subjected to any variables outside your control- like interactions with the other big player factions on the site- which is an inherent aspect of running an increasingly large faction. You can't have it both ways. You have to find a happy middle ground that works for you. It's the eternal struggle of faction leadership.

But, anyway. See you around. Good luck with whatever you have planned after this.

You know even if a main faction went after the FTG you guys could attempt to ally with a different main faction for safety. Honestly though I'd be excited if my indy caught the attention of a main faction. From my experience it's rare for one to grow large enough for that to happen.

Anyway, it's sad to see you go. I hope that you change your mind and come back! The FTG is a cool faction and you've done a great job leading it so far.

This feels more like a ‘poor me’ spiel than anything, and I just can’t feel sorry for you. You don’t live in a bubble, part of the new TL is “what you do affect everyone else,” and, on the one hand, that’s great because what you do matters! But on the flip side, what other people do AFFECTS YOU. And if you can’t work with others to build a collaborative story, then maybe this site just isn’t for you.

Nooo!..... T.T

I do understand though. I've been an active RPer on numerous sites for about 12 years now. Sometimes the things you work on for so long don't end up panning out the way you had hoped they would. Wrenches in the gears, ya know. And when that happens it's easy to loose interest or faith in the future of what your building. It's always sad, but sometimes the best thing to do in that circumstance is to take a break, or seek the inspiration you're looking for elsewhere. I wish you the best of luck!

I haven't been here very long, but you were one of the first who helped me out and mentored me a little. Helped me with the questions I had. Invited me to your faction. Thank you for everything! Maybe you'll come back sometime. I hope you do! But until then:
