Prologue
The plains lay deserted, hard barren ground stretching out before her. Large jagged mountains lay as distant peaks masked in fog. The sun is covered by clouds, yet it emits a luminescent light, eerily bright, it saturates the orange tinged dirt. She walks forward, feeling something beckoning her, knowing it's what she must do. She is alone until a shadow manifests, a child, of her kind, of her blood and she smiles. The child moves autonomously, unknowing of her mother standing there. The child begins to stack small rocks on top of one another, then the wind builds up, rippling along the ground as if in tide until it swells into a strong gale. The earth shakes, the light darkens and the small construct of the child shakes and crumbles. The stones break down further, cracking and splitting until nothing but rubble remains, they burn in to the ground like hot coals, seething black steaming in to the air. A foul smell rises and a terrible feeling deepens. The child looks down at the rubble and tears begin to fall, a deep sorrow too adult for a child. Finally she looks up to her mother, meeting her eye, tears line her cheeks, yet she is quiet, no sobs, her body is still. "We all have a part to play," the words are so succinct, so mature. She knows they come from the adult the child will grow to be. Tears fill her own eyes and she sees the darkness begin to form itself in the very air, wrapping into black twisted figures writhing for control in a chaotic motion. The mass forms larger, contorting again and again, surging forward amidst the wind, taking over the its substance until nothing but shadows dance and the light fades. The ground between the child distorts and stretches out to a distance until she can barely see the figure at all, it dims within the shadows and a black wall rises. Then the thrashing wind stops and their is stillness, abruptly piercing screams surround her and the taste of blood fills her mouth. She looks down to see it trickling down her body until the earth itself is red at her feet. A whisper brings her eye back to the dark wall and a figure emerges, unidentifiable, just a form of a creature. It has no features and yet she can feel it grin cheerfully, greedily as the land becomes its own, that it has achieved its goal, that death and destruction has come. It revels in the anguish and in the triumph. That faceless smile. And then, it ends.
She wakes not in a sweat but in catatonic shock. Her eyes seem to glow in the darkness, small blue furnaces of light. Her face is wet with tears. She lays for a time in the silence, contemplating the dream, the precognition. She calms herself and wipes the tears away, then places a hand upon her growing belly. "We all have a part to play," echoes in her head. And then she looks within herself, "We all have a part to play."
History & Attributes:
Ikora was born 8 weeks after her mother’s precognition.
Much of her early life revolved around a simple farm-like existence. Her mother was never much present but she had been told that it was important that she do as she was bid and so she would train, do choirs, and when old enough accompany her father on jobs. He was a pilot and transported small cargo on modest freighters. It was here that Ikora learnt to be an adept pilot in her own right, but she also learnt much about the galaxy and the people living within it.
Some pirates and thugs had crossed paths with Ikora and her father, nothing too dangerous, but it did lead to some tense situations and often moderate violence and threats. But her father was a capable man and had a trustworthy crew. It was nothing they weren't prepared for.
Sometime during her childhood her mother completely exited her life. Her father had simply explained it was necessary, though he did not give much else than that. He seemed unfazed by it, his stoicism and calm demeanour making less of the issue, and so Ikora adapted a similar stoic nature.
Her father eventually taught her what he knew combat wise and then enlisted her in some combat classes. He would practice with her and continued to ramp up the training; longer runs, more difficult tasks. She always felt he was preparing her. On one memorable occasion she had asked him what all the training was for. And as the midday sun glowered down at them, both drenched in sweat and panting, he had simply replied that she needed to be ready. "Quit stalling, attack me again." And so she had.
Years would pass and she began to become more ambitious, venturing out into the wild plains of her homeworld, brandishing nothing but her bright vigour and youth to challenge the elements, to climb to run. In all this she unlocked more capacity to control things, simple telekinesis; forming shapes and objects in the dirt and sand. Her father witnessed her doing this and had explained to her that it was a part of her purpose and that she was ready to go forward to do what Ka bid her.
And so at the age of 13 she left for the Jedi temple to train as a Padawan.
Her master was a Korun female. She too was a practical woman and got along well with Ikora.
Ikora proved to be an excellent Padawan. The simplistic farm existence had taught her to listen to her parents, to do what needed to be done. And as she believed in her masters ideals she followed the orders with ease. In her time they fought besides one another and her master taught her ways of the blade, refined her skills and sought to define her further as a swordsman.
In time Ikora would become bolder in her own abilities and believed the force guided her actions, and was Ka (which was what she lived by). So when conflict showed itself she would always take it as fate and go head-on. Her master saw this as a noble trait, somewhat foolhardy, but as she was in control of her emotions, it was admirable and so she teased her calling her a little warrior.
Her practical skills evolved tremendously during her time as a Padawan, however her force powers were always slightly lacking. This was more a result of the time, war and battle was becoming more and more common and her own tasks and missions along her Master included fighting, and it left seldom time for more introspective, wiser methods. She had potential but the blade was what she swore by, fully embodying a warrior of the light mentality, and so she left little time in her training for philosophical study and practical force skills. Only upon her master's insistence did she learn some practical and more basic force skills.
Finally as the Sith seemed to become more bold and attack more and more planets, Ikora was pronounced a Jedi Knight. And although she believed in herself that she was ready, she felt the decision was made more because the Order needed more Jedi knights. The fight was becoming more severe, more taxing.
Ikora has a warrior mindset; willing to fight and die for the cause of the Jedi. This makes her somewhat brash and straightforward in her solutions to certain situations, often jumping in headfirst to tackle any problem with swift efficiency. Such an approach of practicality stems from her childhood and has bred a particular reliance on following orders, as well as an impatience of sitting still and not achieving anything. All of this leads into her purpose, that of what Ka bids her to do. It is part of the fervor she holds towards the challenges and tasks set before her; there is a purpose in it all. This, culminating with her upbringing keeps her grounded in her beliefs, being incorruptible. Such an unwavering identity gives her a natural calmness, stoicism and compassionate awareness, always being mindful of negative emotions, no matter what situation is thrown at her.

"I act because I can. I act because I must. Such is the way of Ka."

Attributes
Ikora is more a fighter than philosopher. She acts not out of compulsion or desire to fight, but to uphold the justice and peace of the galaxy. The best way she knows how is by the blade. Accordingly her talents with the lightsaber have be honed to a dangerous edge, and is without a doubt her greatest strength and asset. Her physical strength for her smaller stature is commendable but would most likely be overpowered by a larger opponent. And although she has solidified a mental resilience and fortitude against the dark side and corruption, the physical use of force powers is something unrefined and not fully explored. She maintains great stamina from a good work ethic, active lifestyle and focused training, and has amazing dexterity for one of her kind, a credit to her smaller stature. And though she is highly battle focused, her mind is still sharp in a tacticians sort of way, being quite proficient in applying battle strategies to more subtler methods.
