DESCRIPTION
A long chain of lightsaber resistant phrik weave prayer beads usually worn around the waist as a belt when not in use. The weapon can be unclipped from a loop to a straight chain. The weapon can be used either in the manner of a whip or garot with it's motion assisted greatly by the user's manipulation of the force. Frequently used to ensnare opponents' weapons and disarm them or grab opponents by their arms or legs. War chaplets are also used as garots frequently as a surprise attack from behind to prevent a battle from occuring in the first place. Despite this, the Yash'Ma'Gub still view the chaplet as an object of meditation first and battle second.
LEGALITY
Legal, as wielders are unlikely to be seen and thus legislated off Yag'Dhul. The ruling Body Calculus is mistrustful of the Anchorites but has no legal restrictions on the weapon. The Anchorage however would frown upon non-member wielding their sacred weapon, much as a Jedi or Sith would grimace at an outsider wielding a lightsaber.
INTENT
To give the Givin Yash'Ma'Gub Anchorites an equivalent but still unique lightsaber equivalent weapon associated with their Force tradition. The counting nature of using prayer beads reflects their numerological tradition. I intend to create a Givin character who is a member of the group as I am interested in developing a non Jedi/Sith related force tradition.
ADVANCED TECH
YES. Due to the obscure and sacred nature of the weapon, one cannot simply purchase a war chaplet. One either would have to acquire one through theft or murder from an Anchorite or travel to Yag'Dhul to acquire one, along with the requisite skill in its use and crafting from a master of the achorage. Someone may even buy or steal from a collector assuming they themselves have come across such a weapon through the aforementioned means.
