BIOGRAPHY
At the beginning of the war between the New Sith Imperium and the Galactic Alliance, the Imperial Department of Military Engineering was tasked with developing an assassin droid that would be able to successfully eliminate government officials and other important targets. After many months of research, experimentation, and development, the new assassin droid model was completed, with IG-2000 being one of the more "complete" prototypes that was built. However, the Imperials had overlooked one major problem. A glitch in the droid's programming caused it to not have any loyalty to any particular individual or organization, giving it a sort of independent droid brain, which, as you probably guessed, had negative consequences for its creators. After being activated, IG-2000 followed the primary programming that was not affected by the glitch: killing. The droid massacred the team of researchers in the labs and hijacked an Imperial assault lander (since basic piloting had been programmed into his brain), having no problems with getting away from the remote planet that housed the department's research center.
After getting away from the labs (due to the secrecy and remoteness of the project, it would be weeks before the Imperium would sent someone to check what happened) IG-2000 set about exploring the galaxy and learning. He traveled throughout the galaxy as the Empire invaded and completely defeated the Galactic Alliance. Eventually, he acquired a new vessel and his own set of weapons, which allowed him to pursue his programming of killing. It was not long before the assassin droid became a bounty hunter. IG-2000 gained experience in marksmanship, tracking, piloting, and other skills in his various endeavors for different clients. Meanwhile, after the Empire figured out what happened, they shelved the project (viewing it to be a failure) until it was completely forgotten. IG-2000 was actually hired by Imperial officers on some occasions to hunt down Rebel scum and Jedi. Over time, IG-2000 developed his own personality and outlook on what could be considered "life" for a droid.
Eventually, the rogue Imperial assassin droid realized that he would be able to gain far more by joining and organized crime group, in terms of profit and connections. After doing some stints with minor gangs and syndicates, he decided to enter the dominant force of the galactic underworld: the Hutt Cartel.
PERSONALITY
IG-2000 is not capable of feeling emotions like organics due to the fact that he is a droid. But he did develop some quirks and opinions that would be considered a personality by organics, which, by the way, he dislikes. Probably because his main programming is to kill people, IG-2000 never really liked non-droid individuals, which is something that developed over time as he killed more and more of them for clients. Being what some might describe as arrogant, the rogue assassin droid believed that he was superior to the organics, or as he sometimes called them, "meatbags." But that did not stop him from accepting jobs (and credits) from various clients, as it allowed him to fulfill his primary programming. He viewed organics to be foolish and stupid, and is just fine to him if they are intent on killing each other.
He views other droids to be better than organics but did not feel any need for companionship. In fact, he does not feel anything at all, so he has no qualms with killing. When it came to politics, IG-2000 is somewhat grateful to the Empire for creating him and hiring him on several occasions, so he views it in a more favorable light than other factions. He also believes that the Rebels and the Jedi are a not much more than foolish upstarts that will get eventually crushed by the Imperial steamroller, but personally did not take sides in yet another conflict between non-droids. He just does his best to make as much credits out of it as possible. IG-2000 also viewed the Hutt Cartel as being the most powerful organization in the underworld, which is why he decided to join it.
IG-2000 prefers getting credits for jobs but only for the purpose of buying more weapons and equipment that would help him better carry out his primary programming.
