If you went back in time what would you do and why?

A few rules...
#1 You can do anything without any negative consequences.
#2 You must go back atleast 100years that way everyone won't be cliche and do something to hitler.
#3 You can't screw with Jesus, or any religious figures because I dont want it turn into any religion bashing or debate.

I would have loved to see the signing of the Declaration of Independence, or if I could go back to the 1980's I would have loved to see Reagan's nomination speeches, or heard from William F. Buckley. But over a 100 years, I would have to say that I would go to the signing of the Declaration of Independance.

Go back to 1991, and see Pearl Jam's first big live set at the Pink Pop Festival.

If you asked this in 2012, I would say I would go back to witness the sinking of the RMS Titanic. I would be tempted to watch the sinking, but I would more then likely just try to find a way to divert the ship's course or speed.

But since I can't, I would either go back to one of these two...

1. Back to the age of the Dinosaurs so I could watch and observe them from safrey, because Dinosaurs are just cool and badass.

2. Back to where the Founding Fathers were together so I could warn them how ****ed up America would eventualy become.

Read rule 2, you must go back 100years.
If you asked this in 2012, I would say I would go back to witness the sinking of the RMS Titanic. I would not try to prevent it because I doubt I could and if I did, something worse could happen.

But since I can't, I would either go back to one of these two...

Again read rule 1, their are no negative consequences.

I would want to go back to the 1530s of England. In the past hundred years I would want to go to 1930s Germany.

Its an interesting period. Theres really no books that describe what life was like for the ordinary nazi citizen. Its probably just like any other ordinary citizens life but still you know what I mean.

Read the hiding place. That tells you what life was like well enough in the internment camps. As for the average run-of-the-mill Nazi citizens, well you can just look at this guy to see what they were like.

Going back to the Pre-Cambrian period might be interesting. Given that there wouldn't be any life on land, it might be interesting being on a virtually sterile earth.

It also would be interesting to check up on humans after we separated from the rest of the apes. Perhaps checking every couple hundred thousand years until I got close to the rise of civilization. Just as long as the humans liked me and didn't view me as dinner.

Checking out my area before it was settled by Europeans might be interesting. Since I haven't really seen it or any pictures of it prior to settlement, seeing it almost as it was naturally might be interesting as I could see many of the changes that were made to the landscape.

I'd also like to see many of my ancestors and see what they were like and what sort of things they had that they passed on to me.

I read a book about some people traveling back in time to try and stop the titanic from sinking. Too bad noone would listen to them so it sunk any ways.

Beyond the past 100 years, I would definately go to see the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and likely, as Mulluns said, warn them about how things would become.

Within the past 100 years, I would like to find a way to observe Hitler during his time in the Eagle's Nest. They say you can walk in his office there, and feel 'a strange aura.' They say he was completely sane, but undeniably evil. I just want to see him operate. I want to learn how he thought and acted when he was alone.

If I could go back in the past one hundred years, I would probably go back to the sixties and do what some really influential band did, only before they did it, so I would be considered a genius and take credit for something that they had yet to do.

If I could go back anywhere, it would be back to ancient Rome or Macedon, and then using modern technology I would convince the people I was a god and take over a massive empire.

Either that or going back to the Jurassic period so I could bring a velociraptor back here.
