Ideas for an Indie character

Thought I might make a Indie character but I am stuck thinking of ideas. I was thinking something of a freelance mercenary working for criminal outfits or just a muscle for hire, any ideas?

Maybe go in the Hutt Cartel direction. A bounty hunter or a smuggler that works for a certain Hutt.

Working for the Hutt Cartel seems like a good idea. Though when it finally opens up sign ups are going to be on high demand

Iv actually considered the Retrade and the Imperial Knights but i'm not sure what they do

Must the character be a criminal? If not, you could make a journalist. With all the wars, Jedi diaspora, and Sithspawn, you'll think the Holonet would be flooded with new journalists or indignant activists protesting the wars...

Naw, kidding. Padme hit a really interesting idea though - have you considered something unusual, like a war correspondent or some other sort of journalist? With all the indie factions, I'm sure you'd have no shortage of people looking to do interviews.

Well The reason I was thinking towards a criminal character is because I have yet to have one as a character. And with the Hutt Cartel coming there is an opportunity of employment from different Crime lords

Though I like the Journalist idea

Any type of Indie can work as long as you actually use it in RP situations. Would a journalist have many different chances to RP interestingly? Depends how you play it. It's all in how deep you try and get into character and actually make for plots. It's more important than Sith/Jedi because the main focus is to actually excel in power and gain ranks. Indies are more for your own customization.

Crime on the other hand, it's important to be creative and develop the character. There's plenty of criminals out there so it's more vital to make yours stand out in both personality and style. If this is where you do end up, I encourage you to be creative when it comes to threads.
