"Why couldn't I meet these guy in person first." Chances were that he could, but Spectre just was the type who played it smart. Slicers tended to be criminals and were not known for the thuggish mannerisms of other nefarious underworld denizens. That did not stop them from being dangerous and as a result paranoid about their own safety.

"You know why, boss." Bruggan, his Kaleesh right hand man said from the other room as he laid out a tarp. "Doesn't mean I have to like it." The Grysk mumbled to himself as the commlink rang.

Kai could understand the cautious side of slicers. When the man had asked who to talk to for a decent slicer they had given a few names. But Spectre was the most mysterious and to not to mention Kai had felt a twing in the back of his mind when he had first heard the name. He was not sure why but it was enough to make him willing to go through the trouble of calling the given information. He'll probably want to meet somewhere public. I wonder if he knows who I am already. His head reflexivly looked out the window to the city-moon outside. Can they really slice traffic footage and stuff? Ok now I'm starting to get why they're reclusive. I'm getting paranoid just thinking about it.

Spectre normally gravitates around Hutt space, one of the hot beds of crime in the galaxy, it's not too hard to find local work there. But if he's needed elsewhere it's not a problem. . The Corellian would be at a cantina on the Smuggler's Moon, sitting by himself at a table in a corner. Nice and obscure, he'd have a glass of beverage on the table and then a cigara in his hand, lit. There'd be jizz music in the background as well as all sorts of flashing lights, twi'lek dancers. He's not really into either of that, but a white noise while going out for a drink is something that he perfers.

Then on his communicator started buzzing. Taking it out of his jacket pocket, he'd wonder who that is. He'd take his leave from the cantina so that he could take the call. Once outside, he would then pick and answer the call. The person on the other end might have had a bit of a wait, then there would be a brief silence as the call is picked up. "Hello" he said with a neutral tone of voice. He'd wait for the person on the other end to respond. What ever could it be...

The communicator gave the dull ring for a few times. It seemed that Spectre, if that was who he was actually calling, did not have a voicemail setup. But he waited patiently, staring out of the window as his Kaleesh cohort continued to lay down tarp in the other room.

A particularly noisy rustling sound came through and he turned away from the window "Keep it down I'm on a-" But the ringing stopped and he knew that someone had picked up on the other end. His hand held the commlink a little closer before hearing the singular greeting. "Hello indeed. I was informed that you were the person to talk if I needed a slicer. Am I wrong, Spectre?"

First contact was always a tricky thing. People who survived in the galactic underworld tended to be cautious to the point of paranoia. That made reaching out to new contacts could be tricky. But paranoia wasn't a bad thing if it was warranted. The Grysk had a feeling a black market slicer for hire knew that well enough.

If the other person on the line does need a slicer, he has came to the right person. Of course, the young slicer would like to know details of what he might be getting into. He would respond. With a pause, he would then respond "Maybe not." he simply said "What would you need a slicer for?" he said and wondered. Spectre is up for a job that pays decently, if that's what his mysterious contact wants.

He was still outside where he was, still people going about their mundane buisness. People going in and out of the cantina as well as others. Still speeders flying through the skies of the Smuggler's Moon. The city-moon that never sleeps.

I'm glad he hasn't hung up yet. He thought to himself as he listened. The man, at least he thought it was a man, on the other end of the line inquired about the work. It was to be expected. Though Malakai wondered if he actually wanted to talk about it over the commlink.

"Would it be better if we met in person to talk about it or do you have like some super security jammer on any call sent to you?" The tone had the slightest hint of jesting. Kai was perfectly fine talking about it over the commlink so long as he got a way to prove Spectre was what he thought he was. Life was too short to make every single moment an anxiety wracked and paranoid roaler coaster. It was a slippery slope but he had his limits in the amount of effort he would put into something.

Even if that thing is life? The pink lips of a long dead Zeltron whispered with a youthful smile. But Kai kept his eyes forward, resisting the look at the phantom beside him. Instead he turned and walked to the counter top and pulled out a bottle to corellian cognac. He didn't want to see her right now.

How Spectre answered his question would still lead to him giving the information at one point. But the legionnaire wondered how best to deliver it. A job involving forging records, steeling funds, pinning the blame on another, and escaping with a Hutt load of credits. It would be a heist and even further still, a job interview. But when it came to crime every job was an interview for the next. There wasn't any risk so long as the slicer was as good as he was said to be.

Spectre could hear the jest through the voice on the other side, the slicer would snicker audibly on the phone. He supposes that he could wait until they can meet in person, but he really would like to hear some of the details up front so that he could decide if he's interested or if he would say nay.

Spectre would then walk off away from the cantina and instead be on the move through the city walkways. "No one would be listening." he said with a smile "Although I suppose maybe we could do that. But then again time is money..."

But in the end, he supposes he it doesn't matter too much. Time is a luxury and he isn't exactly dying for credits. "I do suppose you might have something decent big in mind though." he wondered aloud. How big could it be indeed... The more he thinks about it, he wonders what it could be.

Judging by the confidence in the man, and the fact that Malakai didn't know any better, he believed in Spectre's words whether or not it was truth. Maybe the force guided him. Or maybe he just liked this. He was getting a thrill out of planning this whole 'thing'. "Yeah, time IS money. I'll tell ya now." While he was smiling he tried sounding laid back and relaxed. Like this wasn't the first time he had actually done something like this.

"Oh yeeaah. Definitely will be worth you're while, and while and another while. How fond are you of Vienne Donatade or the Crimson Dawn?" He asked first both to hint at who the target of this job could be and also to see if he needed to worry about any sort of biased or second thoughts down the line. The Five Syndicates had great wealth and their leaders had earned their places. But that did nott mean that they were untouchable.

It seems they can agree on one thing. Anyways, this guy sounds pretty sure of himself as well. As he'd turn a corner he'd continue the conversation. "They're okay." he tone in Spectre's voice was neutral and disinterested and he shrugged his shoulders. Although with the Five Syndicates, Spectre isn't closely aligned to any one group and in the end care for his own prosperity more-so than the criminal groups and it's crime lords. The slicer wonders what the other person has in mind now that he brought those two things up.

The young slicer wonders where he is going with this line of conversation, with the wording he has a pretty good idea of where. With a pause. Before thinking about anything else, Spectre doesn't know who he is talking to still. Curious he'd ask "So, I don't think I caught what your name is, care to tell?" he asks while stopping and taking a look up into the night skies. He did have vague ideas on who the other person is. Probably another Five Syndicates member looking for help for a big payday.

"I hope they're okay is your way of saying I'm not above stealing from them." He took a sip from the corellian distilled libation before continuing. "Malakai Beck. But you can call me Kai if you want." He had pondered using an alias but there was not much point in using it at this point. Spectre would have learned of it sooner or later and he was not worried about the positive affects renown would do for his name. Someone who wanted to climb the ranks and become the head of a Syndicate branch would not be above using their name afterall. He also felt like maybe that bit of honesty might earn some trust with the slicer.

"So how does it sound. Sneaking our way onto the Banking Clan's reserves on Scipio, taking the lions share of Vienne's wealth and then making it look like Gori xaa Hafven or someone else had a hand in it." He wondered if Spectre had an idea of how much wealth a leader in the Five Syndicates had. "We'll take enough that will practically bankrupt her and her branch of the Syndicate. Lot's of vacancy left and a lot of credits acquired." The prestige of being a slicer that douped the syndicate and even framed one of the more renown slicers in the galaxy could be enticing if the credits weren't enough. Malakai was only partially doing it for the money himself. He wanted a clear cut confirmation that Spectre was in. It was now that he expected questions or raised concerns.
