Core 'in flames' as 'monsters' attack Coruscant.
Coruscant, often called the 'Galactic Capital', has been attacked by Darth Raze. The attack launched without warning, started on the upper levels of the ecumenopolis, with reports from the ground describing 'monsters' leading the charge.
The Herald has not been able to verify casualty reports, but officials have alleged the numbers to be 'catastrophic'.
Experts have revealed that Darth Raze, an infamous force-user and suspected member of the Sith Order, launched the attack by sending several 'waves' of 'force abominations' to this publication.
Some attacked the upper levels, while others moved into the undercity where they violently fought at the street level with local gangs.
Sporadic holo-films have been sent to this Herald from sources on the ground, which appear to show organics 'transforming' into 'monsters'. Experts contacted by this publication at the University of the Core confirmed that they "meet the key descriptors of force abominations"; however, the sources stressed that this could not be guaranteed.
The creatures attacked seemingly indiscriminately, charging bystanders, security personnel and even children.
It is still being determined what the objective of this attack is. However, reports indicate that the creatures have made their way to the Senate building, and continued their raid there.
Numerous planets and embassies have confirmed they have been unable to locate their representatives in the Galactic body since the attack began.
A source in the Coruscanti Underworld confirmed that the 'message had been sent' that the planet was now 'Lord Raze's'.
Security services are understood to have been "all but overrun", with only pockets of resistance in the lower levels.
One insider spoke to the Herald saying "The only remaining resistance can be found in the lower levels, where law enforcement are more used to dealing with extreme levels of violence. From what I can see, the upper levels seem completely overrun."
The attack comes on the tail-end of a similar assault on Byblos City. This attack also saw waves of 'monsters' assaulting local security personnel - with numbers described as 'innumerable'.
Senator Jana Kang died in the attack after an explosion tore apart her residence.
Byblos has been uncontactable since the outbreak of the attack and its conclusion, with aid organisations unable to reach the surface.
Galactic Governments have been slow to comment on the recent spate of attacks, both on Byblos and Coruscant, with the only comments coming from the Independent Systems Consortium and the Hutt Cartel.
Speaking to the Herald, the Consortium stated it "condemns these actions by the Force using terrorist Darth Raze. ISCRA will be deployed to assist any refugee and evacuation efforts."
The Herald understands that the ISCRA (a Consortium-established refugee agency) will attempt to rehouse those affected by the attack.
Meanwhile, the Hutt Cartel was quick to condemn the attack, with spokes saying, "Nal Hutta extends its sympathy for the affected planet and its people." but did not confirm if it would be sending any actionable aid.
However, war has not been a stranger to other Galactic powers, with the Empire striking out at the world of Bastion.
The attack, which marks the first 'inter-galactic intervention' by the Empire since the removal of its force-sensitive Emperor, takes place against so-called 'Jedi Worlds' in the galactic north.
Bastion, which had long been a significant component of the Jedi powerbase in the region, fell under attack from the Imperial fleet and army elements in the early hours yesterday.
Refugee agencies have condemned the attack, drawing reference to the comments of the new Emperor, who promised an era 'free of atrocity' at the time of his ascension.
Emperor Drast did not comment to this paper but did issue a broadcast internally to the Imperial state broadcaster (which this publication has not been able to access).
Civilian casualties are feared in the attack on Bastion, with commentator Max Haldreen stating, "the attacks on Coruscant, Byblos and Bastion mark a return to mass-casualty warfare, and the Galaxy will be all the poorer for it."

When the Core shakes, will it finally listen?
Bastion, Byblos, Coruscant. Three planets have snapped the deep Core to attention - finally, war seems to have come to their doorstep.
However, this sudden wave of outrage will be brushed aside by many observers and onlookers, for there was nothing but silence when atrocities occurred in the mid and outer rim.
Not from the public, not from the press.
But from the Core. Powerful and wealthy worlds, pan-galactic factions and interstellar businesses were silent, offering platitudes and 'aid' instead of countering the spread of evil autocracy and violence when it affected those out of sight and thus out of mind.
Kashyyyk was bombarded, Trandosha invaded, and the rim spiralled into chaos, violence and disunity as the Core debated and postured - whilst achieving nothing again. It is what we deserve.
For decades ineffective and self-aggrandising politicians have thought about acting and making grand speeches. The corporate CEO has said one thing and then chilled for business from the pockets of tyrants.
All the time, the people of the galaxy have suffered from the inaction of their leaders.
The Core disarmed fleets and dissolved alliances.
And the autocrats, tyrants and murderers have swept in and taken what they think is theirs.
From where we stand, it looks as if nobody can stop them.
The force is too strong, and the power too great.
But alliances can still be made; people can still take up arms.
The galaxy can still reject the well-worn path of death and tyranny, and a free people can forge a new one of peace and freedom.
But for that to happen, the many must be brave enough to stand up to the few.
And accept the high cost of doing so.

The Age of the Autocrat is coming back.
Across the Outer Rim, poverty and deprivation have always been high. However, there have always been pockets of abundant wealth—trade nodes, planets rich in rare resources, and much more.
This has enabled specific planetary powers to expand their reach to entire sectors for centuries, creating autocratic Governments that rule their regions with an iron fist.
Some historians remark that, in some instances, a 'benevolent autocrat' has fostered a period of growth and prosperity in their region. They pass off the rollback of freedoms and the frequent applications of violent tyranny as an acceptable price for development.
In some ways, there are parallels between the powers of the old and the Consortium of today.
But beneath the history lies a message. As the Galaxy continues to become a less and less stable place, violence on the rise and economic instability soaring, the autocrat's age is again upon us.
Across the Outer Rim, we see these 'jewels' of planets expanding their armed forces, their leaders in many cases consolidating power to 'better able' them to protect their citizens.
And in the shadow of an increasingly distance, uncaring and now assailed Core, the populace of the Rim look to these autocrats for guidance. History tells us that this way lies ruin and desperation, death and destruction for many - and what can appear at first as prosperity and growth is often little more than a veneer for corruption and tragedy.
One of the finest examples of this decline can be seen in Hutt Space, where a clique of gangsters and mercenaries masquerade as a Government. A government that now steps into the Galaxctic fray to offer its views on atrocities in the Core.
When Outer Rim despots become the voice of reason, the light has gone out.
