Cliff notes version:

Jedi do missions to forge an alliance with the Hutts.

Hutts don't want to be conquered by the Sith.

Alliance formed.

Nal Hutta becomes a Jedi Story planet.

Jedi (not Hutts) begin to crack down on crime.

I'm just somewhat irritated that all of this happened around the Hutts while the only Hutt characters were completely ignored and everyone decided NPC Hutts were more important..

Right yea okay whatever. I didn't make my Hutt for all the faction war junk (the exact opposite actually) but you can't sit here and say all this crap that the Desilijics say when my Hutt is head of the Desilijics.

The crime world was a perfect place for indie characters to thrive but as usual hungry factions have to come and swallow it up for no strategic purpose at all other than "Oh look, my blob is bigger than yours!" quite childish and stupid really.

This really isn't an appropriate attitude and there are tons of interesting story chances here to be had. The staff put up Nal Hutta as a resource planet, and the Jedi happened to be the faction that claimed it. There are still plenty of chances to RP on Nal Hutta and Nar Shadda. In fact, there are probably more chances now.

I'm good. I'd rather not take part in threads where the actual important Hutt Characters are ignored and the npcs are controlled by people who just came here rather than the actual people who have been here from the beginning (myself and redmerc)

Let me step in here a bit..

The "Hutt families" has always been somewhat of an NPC institution, encompassing much more than just the Desilijic (also their rivals). That is both for roleplay, creative and realism's sake the world we create where the only active PC doesn't get the own everything simply because he's active. On Nar Shaddaa a lot of criminal organizations roam and the crackdown could be said be centered not around Hutt (council) business, but rather that of the Exchange and the Shadow Syndicate. The Hutts are using the Jedi in a shaky alliance to expand their own power (something that would've been impossible with the Sith in charge) and makes perfect sense.

There is a clear and distinct story purpose here and I don't like it being "oh big factions ruin our fun for no reason" just because you don't like it.

This is more of an OOC issue. If all the Jedi were going to start expanding to Hutt territory they could have at least considered communicating some possible thread ideas with the people already there. Instead they all just appear out of nowhere and tell everybody else how things are gonna work.

Sorry bud but the actual damned people that consider themselves members here are more important than NPCs.

Until yesterday you had not posted IC since June and had no OOC posts since (excluding status updates) July. The Jedi threads on Nal Hutta were highly publicized and hardly kept secret. At the time they were conducted, there were no active Hutt PCs.

This thread was for a new member trying to get some information and find an RP partner. We have hijacked this OOC. If you have concerns about how things were handled you can certainly PM the staff.

There actually was plenty of opportunity to get involved here if you had taken the initiative of "Hey dude, I'm an active Hutt player and with your guys taking control of Nal Hutta I'd like to work on a story and see where my Hutt and his NPC faction play into things." - you didn't, and I don't think @Valen Pelora should be required to contact all (semi) active players who may or may not have an interest in a storyline that happens to be on Nal Hutta or Nar Shaddaa.

If I hadn't been setting up the Proletariat Bounty Board and linked it your own Hutt Bounty Board I wouldn't even have known your Hutt is the current boss of the Desilijic Crime Family and I don't think every member should or could possibly be aware of every other member's plans and activity. So, if you want to be part of something you contact the people who are setting things up instead of raging about it in an OOC thread after the fact.
