A PRINCESS FROM RYLOTH IS BEING TRANSPORTED THROUGH HUTT SPACE. THE WHEREABOUTS OF HER DESTINATION IS UNKNOWN, THOUGH IT WOULD BE LUCRATIVE FOR THE CARTEL TO SEIZE HER SHIP AND HOLD HER FOR RANSOM. IT IS PROBABLE THAT SHE IS GUARDED.

Sometimes Frath hated the lack of information the Cartel handed out for its bounties. The last bounty he’d taken on hadn’t needed much investigation and stalking to find; but this one was, ‘somewhere in Hutt Space’. Frath sighed deeply and wiped his eyes as he took another sip of caff. He’d been doing research for nearly fifteen hours trying to track down exactly where this Rylothian princess, Arra Saresh, was and where she was going. Frath’s first impressions were that a Twi’lek noble that is only ‘probably’ guarded meant that she was more than likely from one of the lesser houses of Ryloth and not one of the more powerful nobles. Her name made it easy to track her family down. It seemed that her father, Adar Saresh was a social worker who helped purge the slave trade from the small sector of the planet he now owned. His county had been deeply controlled by slave kingpins who used the poorer cities nearby as a pipeline for slaver. Through radicalization of the public Adar had been able to form a safe environment for the public and over time, remove the threat of slavery.

It seemed that the daughter was much like her father and was traveling throughout Hutt Space campaigning against slavery and sex trade. It was no wonder the Cartel wanted her silenced. If the underground slave trade to Hutt space dried up there would be more than one Hutt that would be out of a job. Now came the difficult bit, finding out where the Twi’lek female would end up next. She seemed to be quite good at her job. She would land on a planet, distribute pamphlets and media for all sorts of social projects, advocates, and freedom fighters. She never waited around to do any of the dirty work herself, she’d typically blast off of a planet within ten hours of landing. Following her known flight path, Frath also learned she had yet to hit a city or even a planet twice. While the young woman may have thought that made it harder to track her, the truth was that over time her movements would become almost predictable. Unfortunately Frath didn’t have that kind of time. The Hutts needed her stopped as soon as possible and that meant Frath had his work cut out for him. He’d just received word that she’d been spotted on Laanik.

The planet of Laanik had great mineral and natural resource prospects that the Hutts had been tapping lately and it seemed that Arra thought there may be some illict dealings going on. The only other planet along that hyper route is Daaland. Frath didn’t know if the planet was on Arra’s hit list or not but it was as good a place as any to start. While traveling Frath could do a bit more research into his queery and the surrounding planets and possible targets. Frath finished off his caff as he came to the conclusion that Daaland would be Arra’s next probable stop. His vessel had been floating in empty space above Nal Huttaa while he thought and now he punched in the coordinates for Daaland and took off.

The trip wouldn’t take too long and Frath still had no idea why type of vessel Arra and her compatriots flew. He pulled up the holonet information for the club that had been the most recent victim of Arra and her friends. Once he found the contact information and read up on who the owner was, Frath contacted him via Holo. The image of a large Bothan filled the viewport of Frath’s freighter. He looked moderately bothered and annoyed at being contacted, Frath didn’t know what time it was on Laanik but he guessed it was either very late or very early.

“What do you want?” The Bothan asked in his native tongue. Frath waited for the translation to appear even though he could guess more or less what the man had asked.

“Belator! Good to see you again. Look I know you’re busy but I need some info.” Frath said in a cheery attitude that was sure to get a rise out of the Bothan.

“What can I help you with this time?” Belator asked. Frath had already contacted him several times to get information about his interactions with Arra. It seemed that Belator was already getting tired of Frath’s communications, so Frath decided to just cut to the chase.

“I need a ship I.D. for Arra so I can track her on Daaland.” Frath knew it was a long shot that Belator would have an actual I.D. but the Bothan would have something. Every time Frath had contacted Belator, he’d given Frath something to work with. The Bothan gave out a snort before responding to Frath’s request.

“If I had an I.D. I’d be taking care of this myself. All I have so far is three CAI-12 Kath-class Interceptors. The names given at the port here were faked, and as we’ve already seen she doesn’t repeat anything. I think the CAI-12 should be scarce enough in this part of the galaxy to track down. I’ll keep an eye out for you and let you know if I pick anything up. Unless you need anything else I’m going back to sleep.” Frath shook his head and Belator gave him a curt nod and his face disappeared from the viewport.

“CAI-12.” Frath mused to himself. He had never heard of the vessel before and had to look it up. As he was doing so, he simultaneously contacted the Daalang port authority. The human who answered the call seemed even more annoyed than Belator had been. But the monotone voice with which he spoke told Frath that it was the job itself that annoyed the man, not the call itself.

“Thank you for contacting Daalang Port Authority, how may I assist you?” The young human was clearly not enjoying his job.

“I’d like to report some stolen vehicles that are headed in your direction. Three CAI-12 Interceptor Class fighters. They are piloted by at least one Twi’lek.” Frath said presenting the information to the man.

“Do you have any proof of their theft?” The human asked.

“I’m contacting you with the full authority of the Cartel. There are wanted criminal piloting these vessels. I’m forwarding you the documents now.” Frath punched a few buttons and the bounty information was sent on to Daalang.

“Don’t kid yourself. You’re a bounty hunter. I doubt anyone in the Cartel even knows you’re here. It’s been added to the list. I’m assuming you want a call when they come in?”

“Yeah.” Frath growled. He didn’t like the man’s retort. “Thanks.”

Frath cut out the transmission and read up on the CAI-12 while still traveling. It was a small and fast craft with minimal firepower. Taking out three interceptors wouldn’t be too much of an issue, the only thing that concerned Frath was the concussion missile launcher on each of the spaceships. Luckily there was minimal shielding on the vessels which meant one or two direct hits from the ion cannons would disable the ships. Once he felt confident that The Hammer would be able to take care of the CAI-12’s he fired up the ship’s targeting systems and weapons array. He ran the debug program to make sure everything was still in working condition. Satisfied with the results of the test, he shut everything back down and sat back in his vessel. His eyes were becoming heavy despite all the caff he’d taken in and after a few moments of struggling he finally gave up and fell asleep.
