1. What is going to happen in your plot?
In this plot, my character Banu begins to follow his first substantial lead on the man who killed his wife; a ruthless Trandoshan mercenary known only as the Dragon of Vontor. After being tipped off on a possible lead in the form of a former member of the Dragon's crew, Banu and a small crew of colleagues head to the backwater world of Formos to pursue their quarry under the guise of bounty hunting for the price on his head. Throughout their investigation, they are able to recover contraband of which to sell for the good of the Cartel, as well as find out the whereabouts of a stronghold hidden in the Kessel Run that they turn over to Banu's most recent contact, The Wook, as part of his own plans.

2. What other players will be a part of this?
OOC players Casmer and Cazar have both expressed interest as colleagues due to other IC interactions with their characters, but the plot will be listed as open and PvP enabled. Nor'baal will be acting as a form of patron/information broker with his newest character, Hax Vandeem.

3. Where are all the places this plot will take place?
The plot will have a small act on Nar Shaddaa, before departing to the backwater world of Formos. from Formos, the plot will move into the Kessel Run where our characters will find a converted asteroid mine-turned-pirate hideout.

4. Basic in-character timeline of events
Banu meets with an information broker to garner information on his wife's murderer. The broker reveals that the man's name is unknown, but information about the job might be found with a small-time pirate operating out of the Kessel Sector who happens to have the bonus of holding a bounty.

From their, Banu calls on a couple of the contacts he's made since coming back to the Cartel, and the group departs for Formos to begin their search.

Eventually, the group's investigation tips off the pirate, and in retaliation he sends one of his lieutenants to dissuade them. Following this, they discover clues as to the pirate's base of operations.

Travel to the pirate base and confront their quarry, claiming the bounty and his ship. Report the finding of the makeshift base to The Wook and deliver the head of the target to Hax Vandeem. Acquire currency.

5. What do you or your character hope to achieve with this plot?
Have Banu find out information on his wife's murderer, acquire a ship from the pirate captain, a Z3D Armed Pinnance, credits from the bounty hunt, and acquire a pirate bolthole for The Wook's crew. He will also be delivering the head and helmet of the bounty target to Nor'baal's character as a form of payment for the services he provides.

6. Any canon faction leaders or NPCs DM'd by the staff?
No, I can handle most of the NPCing. I am hoping that other players will jump in at key plot points to serve as antagonists or information, but if not, I have ideas for any NPCs I will require. If the moderators determine NPCs are needed, as patrons or otherwise, that is their call.

Hi there @Demin !

Just to clarify a few things;
  • What ship are you taking at the end of this plot? Please link so I can see if the opposition matches the reward
  • Fine with you handling your own opposition for most of this plot or having open threads but I think the last thread will need to be DMed instead as you will be receiving and asset personally and the Wook's crew will be receiving a base as well
Answer me the first part and I'll DM your final thread - under review until then

I didn't even think to list one, so thank you for asking. A brief scroll of the technology page reveals this, the Z3D Armed Pinnance. I figure it's a pretty fitting ship for both the pirate we will be after, as well as an acquisition for Banu's rise as a bounty hunter. If that is considered too powerful for a mere PC to be flying, then would the 35 Series Light Freighter be more fitting?

I, of course, have no opposition to any DMing; less off my plate! :mando: I am hoping I can convince some of the other players on the site to jump in. My thoughts are to have at least one other bounty hunter also working with the pirates at the end, as well as the base defenses. Its a ways off, but later today if you want, I can put up my chicken scratch for your review as to what the culmination battle was to be comprised.

Yeah no I think you could swing the pinnace if you wanted man

As for the DMing - I'll take the job for the last thread and you can control opposition in the other threads via dice and open threads I'd say.

Make sure you tag me for the finale thread!

But other than that? Edit your post to reflect that it's the pinnace and get to it man!

Awesome! One other question now that I look at the submission as far as rewards; is there a credit limit for the bounty collection? I was figuring 20,000.00 to be divided up between Banu, and Casmer's and Cazar's characters. Is that fair to add as well?

As for my quick notes on the pirate base for the end, if it helps you;

-------------------------------------

The Pirate Hideout

A short hyperspace jump from Formos, <Boss Pirate>'s hideout lies in an asteroid field just off the Kessel Run. Approximately 20 hours from Formos provided one does not get lost or waylaid along the notorious route, the pirate stronghold is built upon a large, slowly drifting asteroid. Originally riddled with tunnels gnawed into the rock by space slugs, a long-gone mining company had attempted to exploit the large caverns chewed out by the massive creatures and built a small mining outpost on its surface. However, the asteroid's resources quickly ran dry and it was left abandoned, until <Boss Pirate> and his crew found it and restored it to working order where it now serves as a bolthole for their ill-gotten gains.

1. The asteroid has many exterior entrances, like a warren. Scans can reveal some extra information from the exterior
-Life forms in two caverns
-Two large metallic objects giving off energy readouts. These are starships.
-A smaller metallic object in orbit; this is an aged sentry-droid that is meant to intercept any intruders and act as advance warning for the pirates inside.
-A small heat signature on the asteroid's surface; readings might indicate this as a starship on standby

Exterior defenses
Sentry droid - sentry droid hails a call-and-answer passphrase known by <Pirate Boss>'s crew
A single starfighter, piloted by one of <Boss Pirate>'s goons, meant to back up the sentry droid if need be. In a small pressure-garage on the surface, and can be ready for take off if he gets a signal that the droid is in trouble

2. The asteroid's maze-like interior has been mostly abandoned for many years, but still bears the slick ichor of space slug excretions. Occasionally, the sticky goo has dripped down and hardened in the vacuum to form stalagmites , making piloting through the tunnels somewhat dangerous. There are several points of interest inside.

Point A - Bounty Hunter's Ship?
This cavern is home to a small, damaged, single-pilot starfighter, the ship of a bounty hunter who had previously attempted to claim the bounty on <Boss Pirate>. Having lost its owner, the ship has since become worn and pitted by the corrosive sludge of the caves, and mynocks have chewed through much of its wiring, rendering it unserviceable. While most of the portable materials have been stripped, a small hold hidden under the chassis holds 6 grenades; four, though, are simple helium grenades, once used by miners to drive off mynocks in the tunnels.

Point B - Mynock Nest
Mynock's swarm starships, and will pester anyone on foot.

Point C - The Hideout

<Boss Pirate>'s hideout is little more than an expanse of exposed rock, large and dinghy. His ship rests in this cavern, along with the evidence of the mining outpost that was once housed here. A pressure curtain seals off the base from the vacuum permeating the rest of the asteroid. Power cables run from the ship's generators, powering the pressure curtain and arc-lights along the cavern's walls. At this moment, securing the ship is impossible without damaging those cables, as it takes time to hook and unhook them from the ship's power supply.

Interior Defenses
<Pirate Boss>
Pirate crew
Bounty Hunter?

Hope it helps. Of course, if you want to keep it all interesting, then that's your prerogative boss!

A share of that bounty is good I'd say - means they can use it to contribute (with other plot and thread rewards) to a piece of restricted tech that's restricted due to price I would say.

As for your very detailed notes? Well I'll not lie - they shall be used and abused ;)
But I'll make sure that you don't know all the surprises don't you worry!
Remember - tag me when you get there alright? :D
