Nar Shadda
When cries of pain and sorrow are left unanswered, it festers in the great galaxy, to ignore pain and suffering allows the grow for more hardship. It is because of this that many in the galaxy care not for others, because so many ignore those in great need. But on this day a strange hooded man decided to show up on this dark and sad place, he had already spoken to many of the homeless and tried giving food, and tried his best to provide some comfort. Still Jon knew better then to show off any sort of Jedi connection, but still had the usual brown cloak on under that a plain blue shirt, and brown shirt. His lightsaber hidden on his back, a blaster pistol on his hip just in case something happened. Doing his best to sense his surroundings to not get ambushed, at the soonest moment of aggression Jon would begin to hide away to keep himself safe from harms way.

Still Jon was in the middle of the street where dozens of people's just wondered a few of course just rested against the wall, mostly because they didn't have any place to go. Still Jon stick around trying to encourage these man and woman to hope for a better day, that they most always be hopeful while giving a piece of bread to the man in front of him. A 60 something year old man, pale skin, wrinkles that showed he didn't aged well, and that the small needles next to him clearly convey his inability to cope. Still Jon waited hoping the man would come out of his daze to eat something but there was no way of knowing for sure if he would. But Jon wasn't foolish enough to use the force to help the man feel better at the moment that was far to great a risk.

"Sir, I hope you find peace one day." Jon would say softly before walking away, keeping his mind open for anyone that could potentially be a threat.

Nar Shadda. The place had always seemed filthy to Sylas, but it was a decent enough place to walk around and gather information. So many conversations were going on around every corner and as long as you knew how to listen, you'd gain a wealth of knowledge just by walking down the street. As he continued down the street, Sylas realized that the main topic of conversation was about some great hunt. It involved the killing of Jedi and trading in their lightsabers for hunderd of thousand of credits.

Upon first hearing about the hunt, Sylas was glad he hid his lightsaber under his black leather jacket that he usually wore when trying not to look suspicious. He had a dark red shirt on and black pants on to go with his jacket. He looked around, for something a little more interesting to do. After a bit more walking, he saw a man stop in front of another before walking off. Intrigued, Sylas began to follow the man in the brown cloak, doing his best to blend in with the crowd. He pretended to look disinterested in his surroundings and every once in a while he would look ahead to make sure he didn't lose the man. However, what Sylas was unaware of is that he himself was being followed as well.

Jon wasn't the smartest man, but not sensing any ill will towards him the young Jedi continue to walk without so much as a worry. He did notice someone behind him but didn't think much of it, still the knight could see that many within this world would need more help then he could reasonable give, not from a lack of trying but simply because one man wasn't enough for this world. Jon had given the last of the food to the drug addict, so he needed to get more food, despite going a bit low on credits he still had enough to buy one more round of meals for people. It was probably a strange sight for this world for anyone to be trying to help another, but that is what Jon had been trained and so heading to the nearest vender the young man did a sweep around him to see if anyone might still be following him, he saw a few people that looked suspicious but nothing that would let the knight be concerned.

At least not on this world considering that as a Jedi Jon was confident that the force would carry him though even the worst mugging the world could throw at him. Looking up at the owner, Jon could tell this Bothan was just tired of his job and wanting to leave. The proof was the small picture of the Bothan's family, and the fact the man didn't even bother to look at the customer that walked though the door. The metal door almost scrapping the ground, showing how poorly the Bothan had taken care of the place or the fact the Bothan was too poor to pay for repairs.

"Good day sir, was just looking to buy a few fresh breads." Jon smile was natural and despite sensing the Bothan's lack of caring he still tried his best to put his best foot forward.

"Ain't got no fresh breads, but if you looking for a quick meal got a few over there." The bothan simply moved his head towards the west wall on Jon's right that held the instant meals not that Jon trusted those things all that much but it seemed the only option he had.

"Thank you sir." Jon gave a slight bow to be polite, though figured it probably didn't do well for his cover, still Jon went over to grab a few of those small meals before walking over to the Bothan, who was surprise to find Jon was trying to be around 10 of them.

"Hungry ha? Well that would be 35 credits." Placing the credits on the counter, Jon turned around bag in hand.

Looking towards the door but stopping just short to sense once more for any malicious intent near him, not wishing to get ambushed simply after getting groceries. Still Jon kept his right hand near the pistol and the lightsaber near his back, while his left hand held the food. Walking just to the door the Knight looked around just to see what was around him, when the door opened up causing the loud scrapping sound again, Jon would not be past the wall yet but depending on what he saw would depend on what Jon did next.

The man seemed to be oblivious that Sylas was stalking him. This was almost too easy...though it could be that Sylas was following some regular person running errands, but he had a gut feeling about this. He looked around him and saw people giving him strange looks, but he dismissed them by simply looking away. People certainly would curious here. Hopefully it didn't prove to bring up any unnecessary complications. Sylas shrugged and continued and when he looked up the man he was following turned and went into a store. When he looked at what the store was, he realized it was a bakery of some sort. "Huh...maybe he is just running errands..." He sighed and leaned against the wall outside the door. If anything, he could try to lead the guy into an alley and mug him. He could use the extra credits.

After a few minutes he heard the scraping of the door opening. He had a plan to act panicked and tell the man a bogus story, stepping in front of the door. He locked eyes with the man, his fake panicked look present. But before he could even open his mouth, a man pushed him to the side and grabbed his arm with another flanking him. Sylas began to struggle, but as he did the man on his left hissed, "Don't make this difficult, alright?" Sylas kept struggling however, being forced into the alleyway next to the store. It went on for long enough and he was pushed a few feet away and as he turned around, the men pointed blasters at him. "We know what you are. We caught a glimpse of your weapon earlier. You should probably learn to hide it a little better...and as for your friend, we've got more ready to deal with him..." He had certainly gotten himself into a strange situation...but he put his hands up and said slowly, "Listen, I don't know who you think I am...but I can pay you...alright? So lets not make any rash decisions."

Jon had sensed something was about to go wrong but he couldn't quiet guess what it was, still as the door opened all he could see was a man panicked clearly about to at something, before a few guys grabbed a hold of him and began to dragged him away. For a second Jon was simply stunned, not that he hadn't see things like this happened before but, really it almost never happened and this just seemed so out of place. Still shaking himself back to his senses Jon looked to the Bothan man who was busy just staring at the cloak and sighed. Walking towards where the man had been dragged two, Jon pulled out his blaster pistol and had prepared to use it if necessary. Doing his best to keep quiet even with the plastic bag, Jon knew better then to pull out a lightsaber in a situation like this. Anyone on Nar Shadda was willing to attack for it and his life.

Listening to the conversations just by the edge of the alley way, Jon could make out the people threatening the man's life, something about a weapon and knowing who you are. It didn't make sense if this was gang related, but one thing did. Jedi hunters. Calming himself Jon moved his head past the alleyway so he could see what was happening, and found the man was put his hand's up surrendering. Realizing now or never Jon pointed his pistol at the muggers and said in a stern voice.

"Listen, back away or things get difficult." Jon could only hope he was helping the situation rather then making it worse.

Yet there was no way to know, Jon was prepared to jump out of the way from any blaster bolts if they seemed ready to fire. Still maybe the man was actual a Jedi and this would be his opportunity to defend himself, or it was simply a case of Jon putting his nose to far deep and is about to get bitten because of that. The pistol would be aimed at the one that was speaking hoping he was in charge.

Sylas was running out of options, but luckily, another one opened up. The man he had been following earlier turned the corner and pointed a blaster at the two thugs and threatened them. One of them turned around with stern look, keeping his blaster focused on Sylas. "You put the blaster down or we shoot your friend here. Got it?" It was a minor distraction, but it was all Sylas needed. He focused for a few seconds on the blaster of the other man and pictured it flying into his right hand. After a few moments of concentration, he flexed his right hand, pulling the blaster out of the man's hand and into the palm of his own. He quickly aimed at the other man on the left, aiming for a quick moment before pulling the trigger. He made contact with the man's back and he yelled in pain, to which Sylas responded with by firing a few more times and then turned his attention to the man on the right. He had begun charging Sylas, but he calmly aimed at him and pulled the trigger once more. The man crumpled to the ground right at Sylas's feet and he let his arm fall to his side.

Sylas looked back up at the man he had been tailing and smiled. "Thank you friend! Those thugs almost had me...don't know if I could've handled the situation if you hadn't shown up. But we shouldn't talk for too long. They said they have friends after you..." He turned around, beginning to walk further into the alleyway, beckoning for the man to follow. "Come on. Before they show up." Sylas didn't look behind him again, hoping that he had convinced the strange man that he was of no threat. If they got the other thugs off their trail then Sylas could get back to the task at hand...though maybe this wouldn't be worth the few credits. He would decide what to do later. If he proved to continue being useful, Sylas might just spare his life...and let him keep the credits.

Jon watched as the man simply turned seemingly not frightened by having a pistol pointed at him, which didn't make Jon feel right. It would probably end badly but just before anything could happen the man seemed to use the force to pull the pistol into his hand the Knight would have said something but he was shocked, to see that the man simply fired into the two thugs that had taken him. This wasn't what Jon had wanted to happen, he had hoped simply to just get the two man knocked out or something this, this was just wrong. Taking a step back Jon couldn't believe what he just saw. That a man could just seemingly do this so easily, for someone like Jon it was impossible for him to do something like this.

Still when he began to run Jon did the only thing he could, he ran with the man, not smiling but putting his pistol in the holster, doing his best to keep his eyes open for anyone that might come running after them. Jon just followed unsure about what to do but eventually he would ask in a slight quiet voice.

"Did you have to kill them?" Jon hoped to figure out what was the reason or the cause for this man to be so willing to take another life, something so precious that they only had one lifetime to enjoy.

Great. One of these kinds of people. Sylas saw the horrified look the man gave him and sighed audibly, continuing on his way. Someone who respects life on Nar Shaddaa? That was the most insane thing he had heard since he got here. He turned around to look at the man and viewed his apparel. The only ones he could think of that valued life like that were...Jedi. Sylas turned around again, facing away from the man, and smirked. Maybe stalking the man would be worth more than just a few credits.

The man finally spoke up in a meek, quiet voice, asking if he had to kill the thugs. Sylas shrugged and replied, "Dead men don't talk. And besides, they had were pointing a gun at me. It was self defense." Sylas stopped running and continued at more of a brisk walk. He looked at the man with a smile and said, "Anyway...I don't think I got your name friend." It was likely that the man wouldn't take kindly to how Sylas was acting, but if the thugs had more friends that weren't as pathetic then Sylas would need this kid's help...even if it is limited help.

Jon could sense this man was satisfied with himself, and that he seemed strong in the force. Which didn't surprise Jon still he was going to try and play it safe and doing his best to avoid the talk of the force, no doubt anyone here would be willing to take both their heads if they thought they were Jedi or had lightsabers. So as they stopped running Jon tried listening to the man, it made logical sense if you remove the emotion that it was better to keep them quiet. But self defense goes out the window when you have the force and can simply over power them at a moments notice. Still Jon wouldn't say any of that.

"Name's Jon, and yours? If you don't mind me asking." Jon looked around wanting to make sure no one was following them depending on the average sound of a blaster shoot, someone probably notice and did in fact see them.

Which isn't good, if those people talk him and the new guy would be in serious trouble. Not that Jon thinks the people will rat them out but they may unknowing get them into more trouble. But before he could continue thinking on that train of thought, he was reminded of his grocery bag. A small smile formed on his face, and Jon remembered why he came here. The force was with him and he was sure it will lead him to what he needed to do.

Jon began looking around for anyone he could give some of the food to, though making sure to at least keep the man within his sights at all times.

"So any reason why they attacked you friend or were you simply in the wrong place at the wrong time?" Jon already had a guess as to why they targeted the man before him but wanted to see what he said in response.

Jon. Not exactly what Sylas expected, but it wasn't a bad name either. Jon asked for his name as well, adding at the end 'if you don't mind me asking'. He turned around and replied, "Don't mind at all. The name's Sylas." He didn't think a false name would be necessary. Even if he might be seen as an enemy of the Jedi after leaving the order, a reaction from Jon would confirm his suspicions. Though the fact that this man was giving out food to people helped to confirm them on their own.

The man asked why Sylas was attacked by the thugs and he shrugged, grabbing the left side of his jacket and turned around, pulling it open to reveal his lightsaber. He made sure that nobody else could see it and said, "They were probably after this. Heard they fetch a pretty large price nowadays." He smirked and winked, closing his jacket again and turned around again. Whether this man thought he was a Jedi or Exile, it didn't matter. Sylas just thought that messing with him was fun.

A few moments after that they reached another main street and he began to walk down. As he scanned the crowd, he saw people giving him glances and whispering to each other. Sylas looked back to Jon and whispered, "I don't like those looks...I'm going to make my way back to the spaceport to get out of here. You with me?" The thugs weren't exactly clear what they meant by "friends" before. For all they knew, there could be a dozen thugs headed towards them, and making a huge scene isn't exactly what Sylas wanted to do. Especially since it could easily result with a bounty on both of their heads.

Sylas, that kind of sound like a bad guy name. But Jon wouldn't say anything about that cause that was just rude to say. Still as they walked Jon kept his eyes open, unsure and happy with the situation he was in right now. But he understood that the force had something to do with this no doubt, and there was a purpose to it. Still as they walked Jon did find himself smiling though the reason was pretty unclean maybe it was fun just to be running around having a little adventure with a man close to his age. Hell they were even the same height it was surprising how similar they were, and when he began to speak it truly hit him the similarities.

A lightsaber, and not just that but he openly showed him it. Jon didn't peg Sylas as the worrying type but still the Knight was surprised to find that this man was either a Jedi or Exile. But by judging by his actions Jon couldn't see how he was a Jedi. Which meant a exile and that left a bad taste in Jon's mouth. Yet he wasn't going to be doing anything about it yet until he can actually confirm it.

"Yea that would cause a few people to go after you." Jon would say before they reached the main street.

When they did though Jon also notice that they were getting looks, force he was just trying to get food for the poor. Sighing Jon did his best to calm his mind remembering this teachings and that he is but a vessel for the force's will. Listening to Sylas saying they should make it to the spaceport Jon couldn't agree more.

"For once I approve of your choices." Jon said before walking back with him away from the street still holding onto the food just in case they get hungry.

"Do you got a ship there? Or are we going to have to buy a ticket off world?" Jon didn't quiet trust the spaceport of Nar Shadda, with the number of smugglers and bounty hunters going back and forth from it, but it was probably better then on the streets where everyone is eyeing you up.

Sylas continued down the road, listening as Jon mentioned that the weapon would cause people to be after him. "They'll be after you as well y'know." He didn't turn around as he said it, trying to insinuate the man was a Jedi. Of course, he could also just mean by association, but he was going for a reaction. The man said he agreed with Sylas's choice of going to the spaceport to which he smirked and replied, "Glad you agree Jon."

As they continued, Jon asked if he had a ship to use to which he shook his head. "No. We'll have to buy a ticket...same ship or different ship, up to you. Just keep in mind, I wouldn't put it past a crew to try and kill us if they figure out what I am. Just a thought." As he finished his statement, Sylas turned a corner and he saw the spaceport. He smiled and said, "Almost out..." before continuing at a slightly faster pace. He was ready to get off this damn planet.

The Jedi could tell what the man was trying to say but he wouldn't say anything about it, not that he would deny it either just that for right now it wasn't something he cared to discuss. Not that Jon didn't want to hide what he was but his master told him as a Sentinel there job was helping others and that was it. Still from what Jon could assume the man wanted a raise out of Jon which he wouldn't get the same smile the relax look, never left nor would the Jedi allow it to go.

Still Jon kept his eye's open for anyone that might need some food, which wasn't surprising but he did find one man laying down on the alley. Listening to the man explain about buying tickets Jon simply put a hand up interrupting him. Now he wasn't one to be rude but Jon had something a bit more important to do rather then to simply talk about survival.

"One second Sylas." Jon would head into the alleyway where the man was sleeping and as he got closer Jon would try shaking the man awake.

"Hey don't worry just here to help." Jon said doing his best to let out his good intentions, the man groaned before just shifting away from Jon but the Jedi wasn't done yet letting his mind go he tried to sense how the man was physically.

But it seemed the man was not in anyway ill just tired, so putting down one of the small food rations next to the man. Standing up and returning to Sylas Jon was sure to get a questioning look but it didn't matter, for Jon this was right and felt correct. Returning to the conversation Jon understood what Sylas was talking about when it came to a crew of a ship.

"Maybe best to stick together as we get off world, better to keep each other safe that way. That being said I suggest we head to Ryloth I am sure someone like you can do a lot of good for those people." Now Jon wasn't the smartest nor the brightest man but if Sylas was in fact a Exile there it was Jon's duty to find a way to return the man to the light.

Still getting close to the spaceport, Jon notice quiet a few Hutt thugs hanging around there which didn't make Jon feel safe maybe this would be a mistake. If they couldn't hide their lightsabers well enough, it was already clear Sylas wasn't the best at keeping hidden. But Jon would wait to see what Sylas would do before making a decision for himself.

They were halfway to the spaceport when Jon told him to wait and went into an alleyway. Annoyed, Sylas stopped and watched as he went into an alleyway and gave a bum some food. He rolled his eyes and as they continued to the spaceport, he said "It's admirable that you want to help people, but it's likely he'll die soon anyway if he keeps that up. And helping people here of all places? You stick out like a sore thumb." Jon also mentioned sticking together which he didn't mind the idea of, but when Ryloth was mentioned Sylas raised an eyebrow. "Ryloth? Good for those people? I don't know what you have in mind, but I think you have the wrong idea...we can go to Ryloth, but I won't be staying for long if at all."

As they got closer to the spaceport, Sylas saw a bunch of Hutt thugs around the spaceport. He pulled the hem of his jacket down as they walked in, a few of them eyeing them but seeming to not pay much attention. One held eye contact with him before looking at his buddy and smiling, continuing their conversation. As they continued, he said quietly, "Just act natural. Hopefully they don't know who we are." With that he, he kept walking until he got to a terminal, purchasing a ticket. "There's a transport ship headed for Ryloth in ten minutes. Buy your ticket and lets head out of here."

Was it really surprising a man who is willing to kill people despite having the power not to isn't too keen on helping others? No at least not to Jon still he wasn't going to stop just cause Sylas thought it might be a bad idea. And considering that Sylas wasn't too keen helping the people of Ryloth Jon was pretty safe in his bet on which side the man was on. Not that Jon cared much to fight him in the middle of Nar Shaddaa still the Jedi was going to have to be cautious.

Still he wasn't about to push his luck so Jon was just going to stick around maybe though some adventures the Jedi could see about redeeming Sylas. Sure many Jedi are not super into the idea of redeeming their fallen brothers but Jon had spent plenty of time outside the Jedi order so Jon wasn't as willing to go all war on the exiles. But of course doesn't mean Jon trusted Sylas, he seemed to be very different from Jon.

Which isn't itself that bad, but it seemed clear that the man was going to need a lot of work if Jon was to actually able to get though to him. But as they got into the spaceport Jon made sure he had his head down trying not to look around all that much. But when they got to a terminal Jon walked up nodding to Sylas as he went to buy the ticket.

"One ticket to Ryloth please." The old lady just looked up and spoke as slow as possible.

"That will be 50 credits please." Putting the credits on the table Jon hoped the lady would hurry up but it took almost 3 whole minutes to pass Jon the ticket.

Walking away without saying thank you felt a bit weird but Jon was starting to understand how he should act on Nar Shaddaa making sure to stick with Sylas Jon looked around to see if anyone was staring at them.

"Lets make sure we stick together, doubt it would be good if one of us were to run off and get cornered again."
Jon doubted that Sylas would allow himself to get corner a second time but if it happened once it might be able to happen again.
