BIOGRAPHY

Early Childhood
Born on the humid planet of Falleen to one of the wealthiest families on the planet, Hummux Det was always destined for greatness. As the only son of the esteemed Hummux Det Sr., founder of Falleen manufacturing juggernaut DetCorp and one of the world’s most influential businessmen, Hummux was positioned for what could have been a very happy life. However, as he was the only heir to DetCorp and therefore the family’s legacy, he never got the chance to really experience a proper childhood. His father felt that a strict upbringing and a strong education were imperative in molding the proper business-savvy son that he wanted. Because of this, Hummux was sent offworld to a private preparatory school, where he would spend his formative years.
Schooling on Coruscant
Upon arriving at the school on Coruscant, Hummux was immediately taken aback by the diversity of the core world. The people of Falleen were raised with a certain degree of xenophobia, and were often taught that they were a superior species, above all others. Hummux had grown up never once seeing someone that wasn’t Falleen, but on Coruscant he was exposed to people of all walks of live. Spending the next decade studying on Coruscant gave Hummux new pleasures he could not experience on his homeworld. During the day he would be at the school studying, but his nights were spent exploring the planet, visiting exotic bars and clubs, and making friends (and beyond) with species he hadn’t even heard of before. The years spent on Coruscant had a lasting impact on him, forming the charismatic and exuberant personality that those who knew him in his adulthood would be so accustomed to.
DetCorp
Once he had finished his studies on Coruscant, Hummux travelled back to his homeworld of Falleen. Despite not seeing him for over a decade, his father did not seem one bit enthused about having his son back, still retaining the cold and condescending demeanor that was all too familiar. I guess things never change Hummux thought upon returning that night. Once he had gotten settled in back home, he went to join his father at DetCorp. He started out working as a floor manager in one of the company’s many manufacturing plants, but soon worked his way up to District Manager, then Division Manager, and then Director of Plant Operations. He worked in this position for five years, until he was once again moved up, this time to VP of Internal Operations. His final promotion came on his seventieth birthday, where he was made the company’s Chief Operating Officer. Having spent half a century demonstrating fierce loyalty to the DetCorp organization, many employees felt admiration and respect towards him. However, the one person at the company still questioning Hummux’s talent was the one person still ranked above him, the CEO, his father. Hummux had secretly been hoping that the years of service he had dedicated to his family’s legacy would change his father’s attitude towards him, but as time went on the old man continued to show nothing but resentment towards him. Even now, with Hummux the number two in the company’s ranks and the obvious successor to the CEO position, the senior Det commented on how much of a disappointment his son was, and that his personality had been nothing short of disgraceful ever since he “mingled with the uncultured degenerates” on Coruscant. Upon realizing that he would never gain his father’s adoration, or even respect, Hummux left the company. For a year, he spiraled into a deep depression, understanding that he had spent decades of his life trying to live up to his father’s dreams, rather than his own. It wasn’t until one night that a single moment of clarity sparked a burning idea in the young man’s mind: he would change career paths drastically and dedicate himself to a life in politics, where he would finally be able to tread new ground and create his own legacy, as well as make a difference in both his world and others.
Campaign for Senate
The news of Hummux’s decision to campaign for a seat in the Galactic Senate came as a shock to the man’s parents. After all, with the Falleen species’ popular stance, wanting to spend time with these “uncultured creatures” was practically an embarrassment to the Det family. Even Hummux’s mother, who was almost always supportive of her son’s decisions, practically begged him to give up this childish dream and go back to his father’s company. Despite this, and his father’s threats to disown him completely, Hummux’s resolve did not falter, and he refused to give up on something that he felt such a strong calling to. With his family’s complete disapproval, he began his campaign for a Senate seat. Though he did not have experience in politics, Hummux campaigned with a ferocity not previously seen on Falleen before. People saw the man’s dedication to his work, and with his opponent having been under fire for recent controversial comments he had made towards some of his female staffers, Hummux’s campaign soared. On election day, he was voted into office with 68% of the vote. That night, he and his campaign staff celebrated with a party that could’ve gone down in the history books. A few weeks later, he packed up his bags and headed straight for Chandrila, beginning the next chapter of his life.

PERSONALITY

His confidence and charisma are undeniable, and while some may call it cockiness, others would rather describe his personality as being infectious. He enjoys being around others, and vice versa. A few things contribute to this: his Falleen biology causes him to exude strong pheromones that have an enticing and tempting effect on both men and women alike; the years spent on Coruscant interacting with people of all kinds also helped him develop valuable skills that help him socialize with others extremely easily.Hummux enjoys living a lavish lifestyle, throwing extravagant parties in his home on Chandrila almost every night and surrounding himself with interesting people and fine wines. He also tends to be a bit promiscuous, and he seems to fall a bit too much into the playboy stereotype. Regardless of this, however, he is extremely passionate when it comes to his work, and he is angered when someone accuses him of not taking his responsibilities as a Senator seriously.
The one thing Hummux tries desperately to hide is his disastrous relationship with his father. The junior Det spent years of his life seeking his father’s approval, to no success, which has greatly soured his feelings toward the man. To this day, the issue is still a sore spot for him, and any reference to the topic may reopen old wounds and leave the man emotionally unpredictable. Another outcome of his relationship with his father is his intense desire to surpass the man in influence and leave behind a successful legacy. Some would even speculate that he works so tirelessly in his job just for the sole purpose of spiting his father. [/fancybox4]
POLITICAL VIEWS

It seems that whenever the Sith make a resurgence, the Republic suffers. Because of this, the Republic should proceed with extreme caution when dealing with them.
Jedi
Hummux’s stance on the Jedi is complicated. He recognizes that in the past they have helped defend the Republic from outside threats, and that most of the time their views line up with that of the Republic’s. However, they have worked far too long without supervision. If they are to operate within the Republic's borders, they must adhere to the Republic's laws. Though they might have the galaxy’s best interest in their hearts, one could worry that such a powerful force could do quite a bit of damage to the Republic should it become untethered.
Economy
One of Hummux’s most passionate issues is the state of the Republic’s economy. He believes that it is the duty of the government to ensure that the trade and economies of its many worlds flourishes, through intervention or lack thereof. Hummux believes that if the Republic can find the capital to finance its many wars, it can do the same for enriching the wealth of its worlds.
