Many of you have been in RP situations recently that have required an admin review, and ultimately an admin ruling. As the site and the timeline gains more RPers and grows more active, which it is, the amount of PMs we receive about this also grows.
Given the amount of RP disputes there are, the PM system can start to become inefficient.
What's also inefficient is a growing trend of PMing multiple admins about a dispute, whether it's in individual PMs or to multiple admins at once. It's an innocent thing some people do, since it's to get a response from the admin who sees it first, but it's terribly inefficient for the admins.
So say member John Doe sends a PM to Sreeya, Xeno, and Jiang. If John doesn't get a response as quickly as he wants, because those admins are not online yet or haven't been able to check the PM yet, he may go to one or more admins after that. That's a minimum of four (4) admins he's sent a message to.
That means multiple admins could start working on something without knowing others are working on it. It's disorganized and it can start creating conflicting rulings and wasted time for admins and members alike.
The way to report a dispute now is to use the Report Post button. It's on the lefthand corner of every post, beneath the avatar and user information, and it's that little yield sign. Here's the button:
It's the button in the lower left hand corner. Clicking that will create a thread in the admin board with the disputed post, as well as the message you leave in the "Message" box when you report the post. Multiple reports about the same post all automatically go in the same thread in the admin board, which is very convenient.
An admin who can handle the dispute will then see the thread, be able to say they're working on it in that thread, and then no other admin will begin working on it unless more than one is needed.
This allows for a more efficient and organized staff, which I hope will lead to faster rulings.
Feel free to post any questions, comments, or concerns here. Thanks!
