It was a slow day for Doctor's clinic on Nar Shaddaa. Normally by now he would've already treated a few gunshot wounds and a junkie that OD'ed but here he was 6 hours into the day sitting in a chair with his feet propped up on his front desk flipping through a magazine depicting two scantily clad Nautolan women. A loud scream echoed through the streets of the city causing Doctor to look up from his magazine before deciding it was nothing and turning to the magazine's page.

It had been a good six years since he was fired, imprisoned, stripped of his medical license, and moved to this backwater hell hole. Although in the back of Doctor's mind he figured that getting caught selling prescription narcotics to teenagers wasn't the worst thing that could've happened. Sure now he wasn't making a six figure salary anymore and lacked his penthouse but at least now he wasn't bound by ethics, republic law, and was far away from the oppressive hand of the Sith.

Doctor chortled as he turned to the skimpy magazine's next page as he took a last sip of warm beer out of the almost empty can before crushing it and tossing the discarded vessel towards an overflowing trash can, missing horribly. "Ooh baby, give me some of that." He said to himself with a chuckle as he turned the page once more.

Almost exactly as Doctor turned the page, a woman walked into the clinic. She was on the shorter side, but obviously muscular, with bleached hair, green eyes, and a full suit of armor. It wasn't in the best shape, but it looked like it would do the job in a pinch. But what stood out the most was not any of those things. It was the fact she appeared to have multiple cybernetic limbs, seemingly crudely grafted back onto the stumps where the appendages had been originally lost. Bria was usually experiencing some level of pain because of it, but having functional legs was more than worth it.

The woman was intimidating, certainly, but someone like her wouldn't exactly stick out on the Smuggler's Moon.

"You the doctor?" She asked, keeping things brief and direct.

The doorbell chimed as a woman walked through his front door, the door very slowly shutting behind her squeaking all the while. He really needed to live up that damn things joints he thought to himself as he looked up from his magazine to answer the woman. Immediately Doctor saw the exceptionally crude cybernetics and almost gaged at the crastmanship. "Holy hell did your mother give birth in a minefield?" He chuckled to himself before realizing that this woman was serious. "Yes I'm in charge of this clinic, what do you need?"

Bria glared at him for a moment. She wasn't going to have some punk with a needle giving her shit. But, she relented. Bria had heard down the pipe that he was good with cybernetics, and hers weren't going to be adequate when it came down to it. So, she needed an upgrade, and she needed it discretely. So, she'd put up with his lip... for now.

"I need replacements. Something better than what I have." Using her free arm, she reached around, twisting her cybernetic arm until it detached with a pop. She grimaced as a wave of pain and nausea washed over her, but it passed quickly. Technically, she wasn't supposed to remove it like that, but Bria was on the clock.

Doctor laid down his magazine and stood up as the woman took off her own arm. Why she did that was beyond him but as long as she had the credits Doctor didn't care. "Maybe hold off on removing your limbs until you're on my table." He said, taking her arm and gesturing for her to follow him into the back room.

Doctor's operating room was surprisingly well kept for a back ally surgeon. The concrete floor was cleaned and the metal operating table was polished and sterile. "Go ahead and make yourself comfortable miss?.." He trailed off, baiting the woman toto telling him her name.

While the woman was getting situated Doctor was putting on a fresh pair of gloves and a new mask while gathering his supplies and loading the woman's new cybernetics onto a rolling cart.

"Miss." She said, intentionally not answering the question. The less he knew about her, the better off they'd both be. Wouldn't want the one messing with her internals interrogated by the Inquisition. She doubted they'd be able to trace their way back to him, but...

She'd think about that after the new grafts. Priority one was getting back up to shape. So, she did as Doctor asked and laid down on the metal table. She wasn't exactly comfortable, but she hadn't been comfortable in a long time anyways. "How long will this take?"

Doctor sighed as he stuck a syringe into a vial of numbing medication and withdrew a sizable portion. Repairing or replacing botched cybernetics tended to be a relatively painful process for most people. Most doctors put their patients under for such procedures but D'jek opted to keep them conscious in order to get instant feedback on wether or not the implant took and because he didn't want unconscious people camping out in his operating room. Doctor had a feeling that this woman was going to be difficult to work with.

"That depends on how bad your previous 'doctor' botched your integration plate, you're not suppose to feel phantom pain with these things attached and by the way you looked after poping that jury rigged thing I'd hazard a guess that it hurt." He replied, rolling up his chair as he put on his glasses in order to inspect the metal plate that was grafted onto the woman's arm stump. He traced the edge of the plate with his fingers, pulling on the side a little in order to gauge how much pain it was causing her. "How long has it been since you've gotten these implants?" he asked, readying his needle.

Yeah, that definitely hurt. She just about threw herself off the table trying to move her stump away from Doctor. Something was absolutely not right with whatever connections where there.

She answered through gritted teeth. "I had a prosthetic arm there for almost a decade, but the connector was sliced up pretty bad. Whoever gave me my legs re-did my arm as well about five years ago." She didnt remember much from then. Something about a bar, and a soldier, and lots of anesthetics. Just a big red blur in her memory. She wasnt exactly itching to go back that way anyways. Too many dead. Too much pain.

Doctor carefully stuck the needle around the woman's stump injecting a little of the pale blue numbing medication as he did so. It would sting for a little before she lost all feeling in the area. Doctor then took out one of his tools and peeled the plate back revealing inflamed tissue. "Well whoever it was I hope he didn't charge you for it." He remarked as he cleaned the wound and peeled back the sterile wrapping on a new plate before tossing the old one on the ground, sending it skittering across the floor. "You're probably going to have to take some antibiotics for a few weeks to make sure we get rid of this infection, I'm certain I've got some laying around here somewhere."

Doctor was quiet for the next few minutes as he attached the new plate, taking great care to do it properly hook it up and clamp the brace on the bone properly before unwrapping the new prosthetic arm and screwing it into position. The arm wasn't fancy, it didn't have a grappling hook, knife or any other type of attachments but it was reliably built and of solid craftsmanship. Barring a direct hit from a heavy blaster or a light saber it should hold up perfectly. Doctor hooked an instrument to the woman's arm and powered up its display in order to double check that it was working properly. "Try moving your arm now."

Bria tested the new appendage, first stretching it out laterally, then in a circular motion. It felt a lot better than it had. Still not completely pain free, but certainly not the searing pain it had been. And the limb didn't spark like the last one, which would make working on the O2 systems considerably less dangerous.

"Not bad. Now, the le-" An explosion sounded somewhere outside the shop, followed by a barrage of blaster fire and screams. Bria was up before she even registered the noise and was out of the back room in an instant. Gang Warfare, the Sith, something. Didn't matter what, but she needed to keep the shop intact at least until she could get her remaining limbs.

An explosion went off dangerously close to the storefront, shattering the front window. The glass didn't bother her, but she didn't want to be caught in the middle of a detonation, so Bria took cover along the front wall, situated between the door and the now open hole where the window was. "Weapons? Ammo? Turrets? Shields?" She called back to Dcotor, removing one of her Gratia pistols and firing blind through the door.

Doctor sighed and stood up, placing his glasses in his front shirt pocket before taking off his gloves and throwing them on the floor. "I swear, these damn mobsters can't take the hint." He muttered to himself as he reached into a cabinet, grabbing a simple blast before crawling back to his front desk. "Well I've got something like that." He yelled back at Bria over the commotion as he opened a floor pannel and withdrew a minigun mounted to a robotic arm complete with a tiny shield.

Doctor heaved the large gun onto the top of the desk and flipped the switch causing the weapons 6 barrels to rotate menacingly. "I thought I told you bastards, house calls cost extra!" He yelled, squeezing the minigun's trigger only to have the gun seize up and catch fire. Doctor quickly tossed the weapon aside and dove back behind his desk in time to dodge a torrent of blaster fire before sighing again. "Plan B." He muttered, grabbing the rifle that was attached to the underside of the desk, and peering out of the side to return fire.

"Well Miss the only other thing I can think of is the liquid tabana I've got in the back for the generator but I would like to refrain from blowing up my clinic."

Bria rolled her eyes so hard it was almost audible. Amateur. But at least he could shoot straight. So he could at least prove to be a decent distraction. "Stay here, cover fire." She said before running back through the door into the operating room. There was another small room behind it, almost a closet really, where the generator he'd mentioned was housed. And, as promised, a large tank of liquid tibana was housed right in the middle of it. She had no idea why the man had decided to use highly volatile liquid tibana in his generator, but it would be pretty useful now.

Leveraging her weight against the generator housing, she began to rip the tank out bodily. Sparks flew, metal torqued, and it was free. She ducked backed into the front, dragging the tank along with her. "We're gonna roll it out."

Doctor put his hand to his face as the woman returned dragging the tank that was powering his jury rigged generator. He knew he shouldn't have said anything but at this point he has stopped caring and only wanted this day to be over. "I hope you've got the credits to pay for that." He said sarcastically as a stray blaster bolt bounced off of his desk causing him to flinch. Doctor managed to crawl his way back to where the woman was in order to help her push the tank through his lobby.

"How about I don't, personally, burn this place to the ground, and we call it even." Bria said, not a hint of a joke in her voice. She wasn't really a joking type of woman. They rolled the large tank full of pulsating liquid through the front office to the doorway, where Bria proceeded to shoo Doctor to cover before taking a robotic leg to the canister and kicking it as far as she could. It went... surprisingly far, rolling out into the gang war brewing.

"You might want to get down." She took aim with her rifle and planted a single bolt squarely into the canni-

Doctor groaned as he managed to make it back to his operating room and had just enough time to plug his ears before the canister exploded, shaking the whole building and undoubtably blowing out all the glass windows in the city block. After the ringing in his ears subsided and the dust had settled he walked back out to his lobby so see that a giant chunk was blown out of his building and a large crater where his speeder that he parked outside used to be. In his mind Doctor wondered why and how a simple payment dispute got this far out of hand. Maybe, he thought to himself, it was finally time to cut his losses and find a different planet to practice medicine. "Miss... You dead?"

The rubble in front of him shifted slightly, then collapsed completely as Bria pushed off the remains of what was once the front of Doctor's practice. It had seen better days, and so had Bria. The explosion had done little damage, but the debris had given her various lacerations, and at least one of her cybernetic legs was sparking dangerously. Still, she managed to crawl out of the pile before standing and leaning against one of the remaining walls. "Not there yet. Although I think i'll have some more need of you."

Doctor stared at the woman with his arms crossed, debating in his mind wether he should just cut his losses and shoot her or to finish repairing her augmentations. Either way at the end of the day he was still going to need the credits to rebuild his practice. "Stay here." He said, not the the woman would be able to go very far with only one leg. He walked back into his now dusty operating room and retrieved a stretcher. As long as the woman didn't struggle he would then put her on it in order to carry her back to the table. After a short moment, which he spent stowing his gun and armor and gathering his materials once more, he returned to the woman's side in order to fix her cybernetics.

"Do you want to tell me what mercenary outfit you're with and if they're hiring? Looks to me like I'm going to be out of a job and it's obvious that you're current medical professional does not specialize in cybernetics."

Bria half crawled, half flopped onto the floating stretcher. It wasnt like she could get very far by hopping on one leg, so it was in her best interest to get fixed up first. As Doctor began fixing her up, he started asking her about her profession.

"Well. Its not exactly a mercenary outfit..."
