Corvo caught Edin's "coughs," eyes quickly darting over only to return to Ciri once more. This all was a story he didn't tell often and his daughter - and Edin - seemed to be eating it up. Corvo almost had to laugh at how much of a romantic he seemed to be about it all. She does, sweetie. She'll remember it eventually, he said, though there was pain in his voice.

His arms wrapped around her, hugging her to himself gently enough not to aggravate her arm. He could only shake his head as she commented about not growing up Sith. I'm glad you didn't either. This is a much better place. To this day, Corvo barely considered himself a Jedi, but he had hopes that one day, his daughter might truly be one, in all of its goodness.

So, when is there going to be a Mrs. Edin? Corvo asked smugly. You certainly seemed to be eating up that story; don't think I didn't notice, he let the man off the hook, not making him answer as he meant it as little more than a teasing. "For today?" I think that's enough adventure for quite a while, he said, thoroughly unexcited about taking her into harm's way again. She'd been fine this time, but that wasn't to say she would be next time.

It was just then that Chaz managed to enter, catching the end of the conversation. You'd better get better because I managed to get those concert tickets you've been asking for, he said, waving an envelope around in the air. I've got repairs to the ship to make after today, though, so maybe your dad can take you. Corvo knew whatever repairs needed to be made could wait but recognized this as either Chaz shirking having to go to a boy-band concert or simply trying to grant them some father-daughter time. He chose to believe the latter, though he had a feeling it was a combination of the two.

Without Shae around, a lot of menial and girly tasks fell on Corvo's shoulders when it came to Ciri. Such was the case when it was finally concert day. Ciri was an avid fan of the boy band Two Direction. The heartthrob of every pre-teen and teen girl in the galaxy, the band consisted of four late teen boys with over the top gelled hair and faces that made the dads and boyfriends of said teen girls want to punch them. The concert was sold out, but of course Chaz scored Ciri and her friends tickets way near the front so they could practically smell the axe body spray off the band.

"I think Zeke is the cutest!"

"No way! It's Evon!"

The girls continued to argue and giggle, and Ciri was a part of it. Though she was often a loner, when she told other girls in the academy that she knew someone that could get them tickets, they were all too thrilled to come. These were the only girls that didn't constantly tease her about her family, and it was the first time she was allowed such an outing. As a result, she was already hopped up on soda, chugging pink sugary drinks and wearing a t shirt with the face of her favorite band member on it.

It was almost time for the opening act to come on stage and she noticed her father wasn't directly nearby. He had looked outright depressed coming over here, but he tried his best to look cheerful when taking her to her seat.

"Ciri where's General Vis? I thought we could take a picture with him!"

"Uhhhhhh," Ciri sheepishly grinned, "He's probably walking around to make sure no suspicious people are around," Though she had no idea where he was, she was fully convinced this was something he would do. She wouldn't be surprised to find him poking random hedges and bushes to see if there was a Sith hiding inside. Rolling her eyes, she turned her gaze back to the stage, cheering along with everyone else as a girl with bubblegum pink hair came on and began to rile up the crowd.

Corvo was thoroughly unprepared for this. He was trying so hard to support Ciri in her concert despite the fact that he pretty much hated it. He'd searched this "Two Direction" and was mortified to find out what he was going to be attending... a boy band? Well, he'd done his best to put on a good face for Ciri, although he was genuinely happy to see that she had some friends who she could bring with her.

The real question he had to ask was what to wear to a boyband concert? On the one hand, if he dressed in armor, everyone would know him and he wouldn't have any trouble carrying sabers and weapons into the stadium. On the other, he wasn't going to be very inconspicuous if he were in armor at a boyband concert. He finally gave up, wearing "normal people" clothes, a pair of jeans and button down shirt with his sabers strapped at the back. He found some middle ground with a HUD laden glasses linked to his datapad so he might be able to do some work while there. Who knew?

He'd made sure that Ciri was situated before giving her some space. If the parenting books he'd read told him anything it was that kids sometimes needed space and he could practically hear Shae's voice in his head: "Corvo, stop being so paranoid and let Ciri have some fun."

Corvo sighed, walking along the catwalk above the concert. I miss you, Shae. Where are you... he thought, barely resisting the temptation to check where she was. He wandered back around to the floor level, making his way down to where Ciri and her friends were. How're you girls doing? Need anything? Candy? Popcorn? Tonight Corvo had given up on being anything except a doting father.
