"Exiting Hyperspace now!" called the Nocturne's first officer, as the ship lurched, dropping back in to realspace after the flight. Saorise's Audacious class corvette hadn't seen too much action yet, but the crew were well trained and battle ready. Here on Abhean would be their first real test, good thing then she had brought another ally to help in the command,

"Markov, let's bring this thing down, shall we?" Saorise rang into her comm unit as the corvette flew in closer to the spacedock. They held the element of surprise, the Abhean forces were still scrambling to their positions. But all they had to focus on was the nasty capital ship in its centre, the bulky metal beast still not fully operational, or so their intel had told them.

They needed to make sure it never was,

"I'm open to suggestions, how do you want to do this?" she added to him, but once they made it they were locked in. And as the spacedock drew closer through the void of space, and the Nocturne's guns spun up, ready to fire, the crew waited with bated breath for the silence to end and the violence to begin.

Markov lurched from his seat as the Corvette returned from hyperspace. They were now at the location of the soon to be battle battle as Markov stood from his chair. He was sent to the Corvette of a Sith Lord that he had not recently known about until recently, but he gladly accepted. He was leading the room where the attacks dealing with the side cannons would be executed in the center of the ship. It was his job to carry out either the orders of Kallig or order the attacks to the officers, who would pass it on to anything not being directly operated in the room. He was now being communicated with by his comrade as they arrived at Abhean, where they were to attack and destroy in the name of the Sith Empire.
"Sir, the starboard and port cannons are ready to fire..." the officer said.

"Let's down this place... The Port and Starboard laser cannons are ready to commence fire.." he reported to the Sith as the Abhean hangers began to look more lively noticing the large Corvette. Turning, to the officer standing beneath him in the pit of the room, he made a gesture as he commenced order while speaking to the Sith Lord via the comms still. "Let's take out the ships first so they can't deploy.. first the most dangerous ones... then we take out the station itself..." he suggested.

He stood with his Sith Warrior armor glistening in the lights of the room as he awaited the opportunity to begin their massacre on the station. The Corvette looked marvelous in the darkness in space as it loomed towards the space port menacingly. With one calm but authoritative phrase, Markov would begin the fun and start the battle.

"You may fire when ready..."

Oh yes... there will be blood.

As the corvette spun the ships cannons lit up with bursts of energy as the main batteries spat fire down across the spacedock, crashing into starfighters and transports that scurried from the hangars like flies, rushing off toward the Imperial ship that had appeared before them.

Good shots, all, it seemed. Targets were being picked off left and right as their gunners found firing solutions across the board. But it was still easy pickings at this point, ships with no shields, pilots caught unawares. It could not stay so simple for long. It never did.

Striding confidently toward the front window of the bridge, Saorise could see the ships that had escaped the initial bombardment form up, and start speeding across the laser lit sky toward the corvette. Not overwhelming numbers, but they could not be ignored just yet either. They certainly couldn't let anymore escape the docks to meet them,

"Forward shields, full power, pitch us up seven degrees, I want us protected from those fighters as they come toward us" she announced to her bridge crew, a few technicians swapping stations and altering levels as the power of the ship hummed and the forward shields reinforced themselves across the ship. That'd buy them some time to even this out,

"Markov, let's make a shot with the ventral cannons on those hangars, save ourselves any more friends from coming out to greet us" Saorise relayed as the ship adjusted up slightly, revealing the ventral mounted cannons below for firing. Saorise pulled herself up against the window to take in a clearer view. It wouldn't be long before the Abhean defenders connected and started doing some damage. Better to limit the amount of guns that could start looking at them as they closed in.

Markov observed from the side windows the scene unfolding. The hangar was going down more easy than he’d think. His cannon heads began to fire their cannons upon the Officers’ orders as he continued to look upon the sight. A majority of the off-guard ships of many kinds were disabled and destroyed by the diligent workers. Eventually as the easy pickings began to disappear, what remained were the ships able to deploy, which began to advent towards the Corvette, ready to fight.

“Fire and take down!” Markov ordered as the officers expressed the orders as ships began to get fired at. Quickly the Sith Lord communicated to him new orders as he directed for the orders to be carried immediately. Soon the Corvette began firing at multiple targets; the ventral at the hangers and the side cannons at the assailant ships. Markov sighed as the ships.

Soon the ships began evading the side cannon shots and began to make hits on the Corvette. Markov ordered side cannons to focus priority on the ones who were able to attack. He hoped that they would fall so they can continue their offensive assault instead of having to defend.

Good.

Very good.

Everything was going to plan, that was the thought that prompted the smirk on Saorise's face as a fighter closing in on the bridge caught a blast from a turbolaser, and instead spiraled across the ships hull, detonating beyond the bulk of the corvette. And as she gazed over to the spacedock, she saw the main cannons fire tear through the hull and send their docking gates flicker and spark, before crashing across and tearing open the vacuum of space. The last few ships would have made it out now, but they would be all. They would be all,

"My Lord, two wings, striking across port" tactical officer Brent informed her. A quick study of the scanners showed he was right, figures of fighters had pulled together and toward the corvette. But they were so close now to the beleaguered capital ship in the dock there was no point turning now, not with the goal in sight.

In a moment they would be in firing range, but those fighters were tedious, and as damage reports started falling in she quickly called out,

"Move shield power from fore to port, lets keep our guns clean while we hit the main target"
she ordered the ships crew, before buzzing into Markov again,

"Markov, we'll try and buy you some time from those attackers up here, see if you can't start laying into the target"

Things were always tighter than one hoped.

The dogfight between the massive corvette against multitudes of ships and the hanger of the ship became ever so glorious. In the dark void of space the bright flashes and explosions lit the darkness with action. Markov enjoyed these sights as he oversaw the officers and workers handle the cannons.

There were some persistent ships remaining and getting more hits onto Saorise’s Corvette. As he saw them spin briefly in sight then disappear, he looked at his combat radar and noticed the mass of ships all coming at the Corvette in formation. “Prepare to destroy that mass. We will probably get more notifications about change in our angular plane...” he ordered the first officer as the shields moved to intensify protection on port side.

He was then communicated with by the Sith Lord with a warning as he responded quickly,
”We’ll split up our fire...” he responded before he gave out more orders. He hoped that this plan could work, as the attack became a balance of defense and offense.

“Port Side, focus your fire on defending yourselves and gunning down those star fighters... Starboard continue your attack on the space hanger until I command otherwise!” He ordered as the orders were quickly being executed.

The port side of the ship began its defense. Given its increased shield protection it would be able to defend against the stubborn attackers. The damage reports kept increasing for a bit but were suddenly decreasing in output as more ships began to go down on port side. Meanwhile on starboard the hanger was being decimated severely at this point. Everyone remaining on the port was either dead or trying to get to a ship before they would be obliterated as well. It would be soon enough that the space port would become nothing more than chunks of manmade dust.

“We are ready to commence the final phase of the attack, Lady Saorise... We will re-commence our full attack on the port unless told otherwise...” he communicated as he headed to return to his seat in the center of the operations room. “Commence reorganization into full offense when signaled. We should have no distraction from the airborne enemies now...” he ordered. The finale of the show was about to begin.

Saorise could see as Markov directed the cannons of the ship round, sending fire plunging into the enemy formation, scattering and bursting the fighters as they closed in on the Nocturne. The shields held, for now, and between that and the portside covering fire they'd managed to break the strike and send them off to reform the line before anything else could happen.

Meanwhile, in the distance, the hangar off to starboard ruptured furiously, caving in on everything and everyone inside of it. There would be no more fear of reprisals now. So close they were to their final objective for the day,

"I'm glad to hear Aletaus, that half-complete capital ship in its centre, that our target. Let's see it done" she replied over the comm, a confident smirk pulling at her lips as she crossed the floor to her first officer,

"Bring us in, I want a firing solution on that thing as soon as possible"

"Yes, my Lady" he replied shortly, head darting down to his fellow officers as they began programming their targeting computers. A day to savour it was. As the ship came within firing range it turned to show its starboard side to it, opening up a full broadside ready to blow that thing out of the sky.

Or, it would have, if not for one last report that buzzed through,

"My Lady, power signals lighting up across the downed capital ship" a technical officer called out across the bridge. Saorise's head snapped. It had felt too easy, as if the resistance, while not insignificant, didn't give its all. It meant only one thing,

"It's operational still!" she cried, dashing to look out the window as the ships turrets began to spin up, turning their weapons to face them,

"Aletaus, new problems, starboard side"

Markov would see the obliteration of the formation attempting to assault the Nocturne directly due to his orders. He smirked as he saw them crumble and explode into the depths of space. The formation was unable to give any damage to the shields at all. His starboard attacks would also cause a massive destruction inside the hanger, where his smirk grew wider and more satisfied. He was then given more directions to fire at the remaining major ship, which he gladly accepted. He thought that it would be simple enough given it's seemingly stasis appearance, but he was wrong. Soon enough he heard another call from Saorise.

"It will be dealt with..." he responded. "Direct fire to the Capital Ship now. We have to defend our starboard side..." he ordered. Markov then saw the ship becoming active and threatening, with the cannons spinning a commencing fire. "I need half of the cannons to destroy their weaponry and their shots, while the other half to destroy the ship itself!!" he ordered to the entire room with tensity. The damage reports began to come in once again as he ran back to the starboard window and observed the capital duel commencing.

The two big ships fired at each other in multiple waves. While their opponent had more brute aggression, the Nocturne had more tactical advantage, as it fired at the cannons themselves and fired at vital areas of the ship. Markov continually barked orders to the officers about their tactics as the Capital Ship began to become more and more damaged. Abruptly, the ship had stop firing as the area became silent: Their opponents had fallen. The ship seemed to be floating in space for a moment until it began to crack and destroy like a slowed down china pot. The naval fleet in the room cheered as Markov picked up comms again.

"It has been dealt with... Let's finalize our attack on the Hanger, Saorise..." he commed in, taking a quick observation at the window, which displayed no opponents left. His smirk returned as he felt successful. He had enforced the attacks and destroyed the hanger well, but thanks to Saorise The Nocturne had the directional and navigational edge. The team worked well in Markov's opinion, as he stood at the top of the room with glee.

Watching the enemy capital ship be torn asunder, broken sheets of metal thrown off from the hull, crashing into the hangars and the spacedock.

Mission complete.

"Bringing us around for a final pass then" Saorise offered in reply, satisfied by the sights before her "and Markov, good work down there" Saorise finished as the Nocturne completed its about turn and the cannons roared to life, firing off a final barrage into the spacedock as the final part of Abhean's orbital defences crumbled away. Debris would fall toward the surface as the corvette turned about and headed back from the planets orbit.

The crew were celebrating their victory as Saorise pulled herself away from the window and whisked herself to the rear of the bridge. Greetings to her officers, to those crewman she had had the chance to meet, keeping up appearances with the troops, remaining friendly, it all made her job that much easier. Another way to secure ones position in it all.

Comm officers made calls as around the corvette, a larger portion of the Imperial fleet dropped out of hyperspace in the Abhean system, taking their positions around the planet to complete the occupation. The final movement of the campaign, a trail across multiple planets and warzones all culminating here, pulled off without a hitch,

"Markov" Saorise buzzed into the comm, taking a pause "come have a drink" she finished the tension from the battle draining from the body. The Sith had proved himself particularly capable, and knowing who to rely on could be a matter of life or death.

And with the days undoubtedly to come, she'd want to know who was on whose side after all.

Markov had taken time to observe the final assault on the space port as it went out with pomp and circumstance. The sight just like the others was just as glorious as the previous sections of the attack. The compliments given to him by the Sith Lord made him more proud of his work as he returned to his seat after the final rotation of the Nocturne was done. Soon enough, communications from navigation officers announced their soon jump into hyperspace, and when positions were set they jumped into it and then returned to occupy the system.

Soon enough he was asked if he wanted to drink with the Lord, which he gladly accepted with a,”Yes. I shall join you soon..” he made final orders to the operations room as he praised the officers and gunmen. Then he headed for the bridge, meeting with Saorise.

“We’re a good team and did a good job... You definitely are good at commanding the bridge...” he said as he sat down with her, a drink being served to him after he requested some wine. He sipped as he observed the Sith Lord and relaxed, knowing that victory was theirs.

"And you yourself seem to make a fine officer, Markov Aletaus" she said with a smile, accepting her own glass of Ossus rouge. Taking a last glance of the crew in cheer before settling back down to plot their course to link up with the rest of the occupation force, Saorise led herself and Markov to the officer briefing room, not too far beyond the bridge.

Stark, quiet, with a cool metal sheen, the room was about as private as one got on short notice aboard a military vessel,

"Please, no need for flattery" she replied with a wave, taking a seat "but I will accept it" Saorise finished dryly. Tasting the wine, she wasn't unimpressed. A soft blend that floated over the mouth and left most of its taste at the back of the palate. Not too bad at all. She'd keep the bottle around, one never knew when they'd need to impress,

"No" she continued, tapping the table as if to keep up the momentum "It's day's like this the Empire needs all the more. Keep driving onwards, even when enemies sit knocking at our doors" she glanced up from her glass, and looked over to Markov,

"That's why we'll win" she said, her eyes wide with a confident smile. She held her glass up,

"To the Empire"

And to an easy victory.
