Holo-stuff Question

In this timeline, would holo-technology like holo-novels and movies be a thing? I plan to have a character who had a childhood of being constantly on the move and when he wasn't messing about with technology and learning his parent's craft he was reading or watching movies.

A little bit off topic, What would a kid raised on a starship generally be doing with his time? I'm not all that familiar with Star Wars, but I'd imagine he'd be pretty bookish.

Regarding holo tech, yeah, it's around, although 2D media is also still common. It's just not very advanced. Flat projections, no color, cuts in and out- that sort of thing
