With a dull groan, and a heavy shudder the Cygnus touched down on a wide open plateau, nestled on the sink hole pot marked planet of Utapau, the windswept desert like planet located in the far outskirts of the Outer Rim. A world that seemed untouched on the surface, the native species having set up their settlements and homes within the countless sinkholes that scarred the planet. It seemed to be perfect setting for the ship to set down, so that the crew could have an opportunity to disembark and stretch their legs, before the next leg of their journey. For the Jedi on board however, it would pose an ideal opportunity to either meditate or train their abilities in the Force without drawing too much attention.

Stepping away from personal console within her dormitory, an ashen haired female watched as the encrypted message disappeared from the screen, before a confirmation that the message had been sent flashed up. Reaching down the female powered down the terminal, before lifting up her lightsabers and fastening them to her belt. Stepping through the bulkhead out of the captain's quarters, an ashen haired female looked up and down the corridor, before pursing her lips in thought, contemplating whether she should head up to the bridge or over to the ship's mess room? It seemed likely that she would find her Padawan, a young teen by the name of Mavie in the mess - though that couldn't always be guaranteed.

Pacing through the corridors of her recently acquired armed escort craft, the Jedi Master stopped in her tracks to regard the read outs of the ships systems being displayed on a wall mounted screen, her emerald hued eyes narrowing as she regarded the displayed data - there were a few minor fluctuations on some of the systems, but nothing that couldn't get worked out. Given how the ship had came into her possession following an open attack and boarding action, on the formerly pirate owned craft, alot of the systems had taken damage and were still gradually getting re-calibrated following it's time in drydock to get repaired.

Stepping away from the console, the Jedi chuckled a little at the thought of the whole scenario. Looking back on it now, the off the books venture to reclaim stolen supplies had exposed her to a rather interesting individual, who had been the recipient of the encrypted message, instructing him of her current location should he be interested in an impromptu reunion. A lot had changed over the months since their joint venture, well on her part at least. She had formally taken on another Padawan under her wing, as well has having dealt with her own personal conflict. Though whether Hask would take up the offer for a meeting, would play out to be seen, but internally she had hoped that he would make the journey - least there would be an opportunity for a shared bout of training, something that the Jedi Master was keen to arrange, particularly for her Padawan.

In the past where she had tried to gradually expose her past students to the dark side, so they could better understand the effects it would have on the Force, she had found that Terria was unable to cope with the overwhelming presence of the darkside taint that had set in on Batuu. Least this time she hoped that she could expose Mavie to the darkside, in a controlled situation, with a former force wielding agent of the Sith Empire. Whether of course the over resident Jedi aboard the Cygnus would approve, may be of a different matter. But over the decade that she had known the venerable Feeorin, he would have come to accept that the ashen haired Jedi was unconventional to say the least. Perhaps more so following on from her time spent under the guidance of the towering Force Entity, the Bendu who had helped her find peace in herself and the Force.

As the ashen haired Jedi stepped into the crew's central mess hall, she was approached by one of the deck hands, carrying a data pad and offering it to the female. "We have the hyperdrive running at 92 percent operational efficiency Master Swan" the young deck hand reported as he stood at attention, illicting a raised eyebrow from the Jedi as she shook her head. "Come now, remember what i said, lets keep this ship relaxed" Eisa spoke out before lightly chuckling as the crew member relaxed in his stance, although the ship was manned by an Alliance crew and there was still a military air in place - The Jedi Master had tried to instil a relaxed atmosphere within those she was flying with. "The calibrations are looking good, though the phase converters look to be out by an angle of 12 microns" she continued as her eyes skimmed over the report, before handing the holopad back to the crewman. "But before you do that, take advantage of the downtime you've all earned it" She added with a playful wink, before letting the deck hand go about his business, and then moving into the mess hall to grab herself a fresh cup of caf, keeping a keen eye out for her Padawan.

The Hurricane shot out of hyperspace over Utapau. Hask had visited the planet a few times now, but he still hated the feeling of having to sink down into those sinkholes to get somewhere. It felt like he was going to crash with one wrong move. But in any case he had been summoned here and he wasn't going to miss it for the world.

Eisa's request was an odd one but it was one he would gladly do. The way he saw it, he would help create Jedi the galaxy could be proud of or he could get some training in. He manoeuvred his ship down until he saw the familiar Brig he and Eisa had stolen not too long ago. Though he had hoped she would have spiced it up with a sweet new paint job before flying around like that, but it didn't matter. Her ship was arguably better than his so he couldn't talk too much.

He touched down and suited up. His coat covered his weapons and his features covered by his helmet. He wanted to surprise this padawan of Eisa. He exited the ship and quickly found Eisa talking to a crew member. She turned to enter the ship again when he called out. "Hey Eisa!" he shouted and jogged to catch up to her. When he caught up to her a nasty idea crept into his head. He took his cybernetic arm by the wrist, unlatched it from the socket and pulled it out to hold it towards her. "Heard you need a hand. Here you go." he said with as professional a face as possible.

Mavise was messing with some of the droids within the bowels of the ship. She always enjoyed these quieter times, where she could be left alone with a couple annoyed chirps and some motor grease. Though, it was not to last. The Padawan checked her communicator and let out a huff before rising to her feet and making her way out of the maintenance area, making sure her hair was relatively clean and orderly. Today was important, and they were ahead of schedule. She had hoped to get some more time to relax. The Jedi tapped her hilt for reassurance as she made her way to Eisa, using the Force to easily find her location on the mid-sized ship.

She knew Eisa was looking for her. As such, she decided to take the scenic route, eager to get the drop on her master for once. And as she walked into the mess hall, she had the impression that she could. Caf and a good scare for her poor little Master. Maybe an awful combination, but it was too late as she walked up behind Eisa and held out a hand to shake her shoulder.

Sensing the approach of her Padawan, a light smile crossed the Ashen haired Jedi's features as she sipped at the steaming beverage. Her eyes narrowing as she could sense the air of mischief surrounding the teen's aura, not quite sure what to expect from Mavie with her little rebellious antics, her narrowed gaze looking down to her steaming cup of caf, she wouldn't be surprised if Mavie thought it would be a good idea to give Eisa a quick scare, to make her jump and spill her drink all over herself. As she felt the hand of the teenage girl fall upon her shoulder, Eisa turned her head to the side to look at her pupil through the corner of her eye. "Nice try Mavie" The Jedi master spoke out before turning round to face her ward, a stern expression over her features. "You might want to try and Mask your presence in the Force next time" Eisa added, as her features lightened, before shooting the teen a playful wink.

"We'll practice the technique later on, but for now. There is an important lesson that I need you to learn" The Jedi master spoke out, before finishing off the contents of her caf and setting the cup down on the worktop. Guesturing her head towards the entrance to the mess hall, motioning for the teen to follow, before leading the way through the bowels of the ship and headed towards the loading ramp that would lead the pair to the planet's surface. "This will be an exercise that you can't take lightly" Eisa cautioned, breaking the silence that fell as they paced their way through the ship, her eyes narrowing as she could sense a darkness wash over the Force, He was coming. "Guard yourself and remember one thing, don't let your emotions control your actions" she added before rounding the corner to the open loading ramp and started to pace herway down towards the surface of Utapau.

Her attention moved skywards as the sight of a white and orange hued ship came into view in the sky above, the body gradually growing as it descended towards the surface of the planet on it's landing approach. Her attention was pulled away from the approaching ship by another member of her crew, looking to give her a status report of the works being carried out the ship. Although it was appreciated, the report was given the same response as the last crew member. Thanking him before imploring him to make the most of the down time and rest up, the attention of the crew started to shift to the other ship that had just touched down.

Letting the rebel go back about his business, Eisa turned her attention over towards the towering red skinned figure as he emerged from his ship and paced over towards the gathered crew, a light wave of her hand towards the gathered rebels signalling for them to stand down. Even if they were out in the remote regions of space and away from the reach of the Empire, the rebels that made up the crew of the ship were naturally a cautious bunch. Stepping forward as the dark haired figure approached, calling out to her, a curious look crossed her features as she watched the figure dismounted his cybernetic limb, before casting it towards the Jedi.

A light chuckle escaping the Jedi Master's lips as she shook her head, mostly in part to the pun. Looking over the cybernetic limb briefly, before tossing it back to Hask. "There was me thinking you needed it repairing again" Eisa spoke out as she stepped closer towards the towering Sith pureblood. "Hows the Verse treating ya, Big Red" she added as she gave the towering man a friendly hug, before turning her attention back towards her ward, figuring that the teen might be a bit bemused as to why her mentor was all friendly with a dark sider, a Sith pure blood no less. "Hask this is my student, Mavie Arkantra" Eisa continued as she stepped away to gesture towards the teen. "Mavie, this is Hask Jen, A Sith Pureblood" she added turning her gaze over towards the teenager, intently observing the teen's reaction. "Your mentor for the day"

Hask eyed Eisa as he locked his arm back into its socket again. He really hated that nickname and she knew it, but he didn't want to make a fuss of it. "Same old, same old. Working on a job for a new arm and a new ship. The Hurricane is amazing but with nobody to back me it's turning out to be a bit expensive to maintain. I'm looking for something smaller this time." he explained with a shrug. Once his arm was back in place he returned her hug.

She then turned and stepped out of the way to make room for a young girl. Hask raised an eyebrow, looking down at the girl. He looked back up to Eisa as she said he was now her mentor. Of course she explained that he was to teach a youngling in order to get them to resist the dark side. But she failed to mention it would be against someone so young. She also had a rather conflicting presence around her that he didn't understand. "Eisa, you're crazy." he said simply.

With a sigh he looked around. The enormous landing zone was deserted, with them being the only ones here. He took off his coat and dropped it on the floor along with both pistols, leaving only his two lightsabers on his belt. "Alright, snippy, come on." he said to Mavie, pointing a finger at her and giving her a light zap with his force lightning just to make her jump. He gave a 10 meter space between the two of them, standing in place. "Alright, what did master Eisa teach you? Anything good or are you about as stale as the other Jedi in your order?" he asked flatly, folding his arms over his chest and eyeing her with a cold golden stare.

"Right, let's see what you're made of. Draw your lightsaber." he instructed, dropping his arms but not taking his own lightsabers. Instead he drew the force into him and opened his hands, readying himself for an attack.

Mavie's smile waned slightly. Eisa was being uncharacteristically serious. She changed her expression to something more professional, listening to the advice that her master gave her. Who could they have possibly been meeting, possibly been doing that would require such a stern warning from the short woman? Soon enough, she found out. Once they had touched down and come onto the surface, she was greeted by a red-skinned humanoid. A Sith...a Force-bonified, living, breathing Sith. She looked to Eisa, with an expression that only her master had seen--doubt. What kind of sick joke was this?

She was quite literally zapped from her thoughts by an electric shock, which prompted her to almost reach for her saber as a challenge, even as higher thought told her to stop. That was how this was going to be. It was a test. Her body indeed had 'jumped', and she shot him a glare while he proceeded to attempt to insult the order. Mavise dipped her head slightly and responded with a slight stumble of words.

"W-well, I guess I could say--"

The Pureblood cut off her train of thought and she cleared her throat, tipping her head slightly while she pulled the extended hilt from her back and clutching it in her left hand, clearly being a southpaw. She glanced to her master and then back to him, flicking on the blades and readying herself for this impromptu sparring session.

Casting a raised eyebrow over towards the pureblood as he remarked about her training plan being unusual, and calling her crazy. Eisas gaze moved to her student for a moment, her expression softening slightly, before it returned to meet Hasks. "I don't want Mavie to face the same turmoil that I did" Eisa remarked, as she folded her arms across her chest. "You know just how conflicted I was when we met Hask" she added before her gave moved towards the teenager "spending over ten years suppressing and hiding from my emotions, trying to follow the Jedi Code to the letter ate at my mind, it is not something I want for you to experience Mavie." She continued before taking a few steps back.

Her mindfalling back to her encounter with the Bendu, recalling the teachings that it made her learn, so her spirit and mind could be at peace and subsequently the Force around her." This is not a ploy to recruit you to the Darkside, I know the texts will tell you that emotions are bad, as a Jedi you are to be serene and without feeling. But I'm telling you from my own experience Mavie, that you still feel emotions I want you to be true to yourself, not to the order, not to what I wish for you. The only one you should ever have to answer to is yourself." The master explained, her attention focused solely on the teenage girl.

" Hask is here to help bring out your emotional responses, because he is naturally aligned to the Darkside, but despite what he may seem to be, he is a good and honerable man" Eisa added, as she guestured and turned her gaze to the Sith pureblood. "the lesson Id like you to learn, is that you can't let your emotions control you. As they can cloud your judgement and make you do something you would later regret." the ashen haired continued as she turned her attention back to her student. "Embrace your emotions yes, own them as they are what make you, you. But we will help guide you so you can control them so you can keep a clear and rational head"

Taking a deep breath, the Jedi master looked over towards Hask, simply nodding that she was finished before turning her gaze towards the young teen. "We're not here to judge you, we're just looking to help you learn from our mistakes" Eisa offered, as she cast her student a reassuring smile, before stepping back and giving the two a bit more space, her eyes and her mind intently observing the pair both visually and through the Force.

The way Eisa explained to her padawan impressed Hask. It was interesting to see how like-minded they are despite the vastly different journeys they've taken through life. "The Jedi want you to to fear your emotions, be little more than a droid. They believe it corrupts. But they are ignorant and haven't gotten out of their eco chamber once in their life. Your emotions are what defines you." he explained, reinforcing Eisa's words. "For instance, you have every right to feel angry when I do this..." he cut off as he wrapped the force around her legs and yanked them out of underneath her to put her flat on her backside. "But you should control that anger. The Sith teaches you that passion gives you strength. You should embrace your emotions and allow them to give you power. But don't let it own you. If you let your emotions control and overwhelm you, this happens." he explained, holding his mechanical arm up for her.

"So, Jedi, your job is to make sure your emotions don't control you. Once that happens, it's a very slippery slope that ends with you standing where I've been. Where we've been." he said more gently to her, casting a quick glance to Eisa. "So! There's only one way to gain control of your emotions and that's to feel them." he said, then launched a force push at her. "So attack, runt. Take that blue glowstick of your and swing at me." he said harshly, following up with a burst of force lightning at her saberstaff to scare her. He wanted to feel her emotions. Once she was feeling them they could work with her.

Mavie stared at him, listening to what he had to say. It was a fair point. The Jedi were very adamant about suppressing her emotions. And nobody knew better than her that she was utterly full of emotion, most definitely after an electric shock that was completely uncalled for. She was caught a little less off guard when he pulled her to her back, grunting from the impact and rolling on her side before picking herself up along with her hilt. She grit her teeth, rolling her eyes slightly. I'm always for hands on training, but this is a LITTLE extreme, master...

Her eyes flicked to his mechanical arm as he held it up.

"Well, I guess you could say you didn't have your emotions in hand at the time."

Mavie grinned as he changed tones and then sent a Force push her way, smile quickly fading as she was brought skidding a couple meters. She regained her balance, having been slightly more expecting of such a thing. The lightning caused her to yelp, but upon finding out it was going toward her staff she let it go in order for the electricity to conduct itself through the metal and not her, then ran toward him, beckoning it to her palm. She made it a note to not get hit by that. It seemed like a rather painful training technique. She activated one of the yellow blades on it, half wondering how her master got to know an...interesting character such as this.

Hask eyed Mavie, not impressed by her joke at all. Mostly because how he lost his arm could be considered the exact opposite of her joke. But he would get his chance to get back at her.

She charged at him, her lightsaber ready to cut him in half. But still he didn't draw his. All he did was draw the force into his right hand.

When she reached him and swung...he grabbed hold of the blade with his right hand as if simply grabbing a stick. He stood in place, giving her a bored, cold stare. Then before she could try anything else he released a powerful force push into her gut to send her flying all the way back to where she was standing a few seconds ago. "Is that the best you've got?" he shouted at her with a sadistic grin. "I hope Eisa's taught you a bit more than that." he said harshly.

All the while he could feel her emotions. It was building, no doubt about it. She was getting ticked off. He wanted her angry. And going like this he was sure he would succeed in no time...

Mavie watched as her saber connected with his hand in an expression of...confusion? Fear? Not to mention it was quite irritating that her attack was countered that easily. She grunted as she got pushed back, rolling onto her side and going back to her feet, the saber blades coming on again. Her back protested against all this with an aching pain--likely from the impact. She shook her head and decided to try and go for his robot arm this time, twirling her saber in her hand before taking off again. At the same time, she tried to guess what he was doing through the Force, so as to avoid a repeat of that first embarrassment.

As she neared, one of the sabers was sent in a horizontal strike for his prosthetic. With any luck her master wasn't laughing that much...

As Hask and Mavie moved away, the ashen haired Jedi master knelt down onto the ground, closing her eyes as she took a deep breath and opened her mind into the Force. Slowly her breathing slowed down, as she continued to open her self into the Force, before reaching out through the Force and extending out towards the teenage Padawan. Casting a faint ethereal shadow over the young girl, indistinguishable through sight, but the presence would be unmissable to a practiced force User. The ashen haired Jedi master silently observe and feel the Force that radiated out from her student.

She could feel the slew of emotions that was running through her young ward, the waves of pain cascading through her body as the pure blood, seemed to continue to drive her efforts back, swatting at her with the Force, increasing the irritation that the young teen was building within. Though it was natural for her to become frustrated, everything she tried was so easily countered by the Sith. But it was necessary, even if it it didn't seem that way to Mavie, they needed to bring those frustrations out of her, bring to the edge of or control and self restraint.

Not so that she could be corrupted by the Darkside, but so that the teen could feel just how it can and will try to take ahold of her If she lost control of her emotions. Though where the Jedi master was closely observing Mavie from afar, she couldnt help but be impressed at how resilient and level headed that the teen was so far. There was a determination within, one that would carry her well into the path that would lay out before her in life. All that was needed now was to find that boiling point within the padawan, the limit which when reached would allow the two experienced Force users to guide her further, allowing her to remain in control of the Force around her. no matter what Mavie was facing.
