I have roleplayed on forums before and in a star wars setting. The last site I was on was a few years ago now and they had a lot of rules for character creation. Especially if the person made a Jedi/ Sith. So my main question is do you have to start as a padawan or can you start as a knight. I am looking to be overpowered i understand that higher ranks would require an in-depth forum post and i am cool with that. Other issues are is there certain abilities of the force limited if say my character is missing his right arm and it was replaced with a robotic prosthetic. I look forward to roleplaying either way.

Nope, you can surely start as a Knight if you were to join the Jedi! As for the prosthetic and force application, I am not 100% sure about that but I'd be willing to say that yes, probably if you had a non-organic limb that you couldn't use the force through it like you normally would. Fairly certain.

You can find most answers to any other questions you might have about how we operate here in a few important stickies. Most notably:

SWRP's Guide to Force Powers

SWRP's RolePlaying Rules

And if you're interested in making a Jedi, I'd recommend poking around our Archive Board for information about the faction.

Most of all though, welcome to SWRP. I hope you enjoy yourself and I look forward to seeing your characters. =)

I am actually wanting to make a gray Jedi. If possible I like characters who break the standard right or wrong mold.

If you mean "gray" in terms of utilizing both lightside and darkside powers, I urge you to give the Force Powers Guide a good read - that's not really possible in our canon anymore.

If you mean more like "morally gray" as compared to the stereotypical good guy, then the Jedi Order definitely has a place for you!

Hi. Dropping in to address the statement in italics.

Generally speaking we don't allow "overpowered" characters on the forum. We actually eliminated the idea that "rank=power" in PvP, and solely base it on a writers ability to out-think and out-maneuver their opponent through tactics and creative thinking. As far as starting off your character with a higher rank, most factions do not just hand higher ranks out, rather they must be earned through in character achievements, often times involving PvP, but not always.

With that said, welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy your stay and if you have any questions feel free to ask!

I would safely say you could still use telekinesis even with a prosthetic limb. Darth Vader's use of such abilities didn't seem to be hindered in the slightest despite both of his arms being prosthetics. The only real limitation I think you would face would be the inability to use Force Lightning, if you were a Sith.

At any rate, welcome to the site! Enjoy your say.
