Zan had to admit, the music that was playing was alright. She normally went for more of the darker and faster paced folk music of their people. But this was tolerable. Maybe it was because she had forgot her own musical choices back on Korriban and was now stuck with whatever was on the PEA. The rest of her crew seemed to like it so at times the Deucalian would play it more for them than for herself. But it was beginning to grow on her.

Alongside the lash heavy star bomber was Aadya's ship. The two had timed their jump together so they were flying alongside one another in the blue tunnel of hyperspace. Tatooine was on the way to Deucalia. Zan had been there once before and had talked with them there about joining the Empire instead of other groups. But appearances also needed to be kept and the planet was not exactly self sufficient, not anymore.

So the two Crusaders were en route to deliver tons worth of heating units. It was not as much as could be done if they had instead brought a heavy freighter. But if they had, then their defenses would be significantly reduced and it would be far better for less supplies to make it through than non at all.

Keying the communications link and turning down the music Zan called over to Aadya. "Should be approaching tatooine space now." There was a chance that they could make a pit stop if they wanted and refuel or keep going. Either way, the place was rife with ne'er do wells. This was not the first time she had fought some ruffians in the space over the planet and together the two Sith made a force to be reckoned with.

Aadya couldn't help but wonder if there was an alternative route to Deucalia that didn't involve traveling through pirate territory. Not that she was particularly afraid or anything, she just much preferred easy and uninterrupted flights compared to dogfights. If Aadya had to guess, though, there was a good chance that Zan chose this route specifically on the off chance they would encounter some pirates. In fact, she wouldn't be surprised at all.

"I'd keep your eyes peeled there Zan, wouldn't be surprised to see pirate activity out here."

As if pirouetting on cue, just as the words left Aadya's mouth she got several blips of incoming ships on her scanners. Given that they appeared to be heading straight for them and not towards the planet, it seemed pretty likely that they weren't just passing through the area. They were probably pirates. For force's sake.

"Looks like I jinxed us," Aadya said with a small laugh, flipping some switches on her control panel and activating her shields. Not like the shields would be super great against real beefed up pirate ships, but Aadya didn't really have much choice in the matter. They needed something big to haul the equipment to Deacalia and Zan was a better pilot than her, it was best for her to be in the pew pew ship while Aadya was in the plodder.

Hopefully things went as well as the last time she and Zan took a dogfight with some pirates.

"I'd be surprised if we didn't see any!" She responded when Aadya came in over the commlink. Answering her was several pings on her scanners as well as the addition from Aadya. Coming in over the ship's inner communication Zan alerted her crew. "Eyes up dogs. Contacts incoming." She was not overly worried about firing first. This was the outer rim. Anybody making a beeline for you was a threat and anybody that did not realize that were not likely to last long.

At this range the pings were not clear. It was not evident just how many contacts there actually were. Turning thee scanner towards the formation she focused the scan and in a few moments she was able to detect ten FR Pulsars. The other five that were a bit slower were five SP1 starstorm pinnaces. All together this would be a decent sized skirmish. These pirates had certainly brought the amount of firepower that would put the two Sith through their paces. It could be due to their reputation or pure coincidence.

Once the leading starfighters were in range all six of her heavy bomber's turrets open fired. But at this range some of the shots were going to miss. On top of that the FR Pulsars had shields which meant three out of the six targeted were able to weave out of the way. The other three had to take a little extra focusing to bring down. Three down, three with no shields, and four more fully set and ready to wreck some pain. The Pinnaces behind the would probably be hot on their tail soon enough.

Going to shoot all turrets towards the first group of fighters. (Barely a success)

Apparently it wasn't just going to be a couple pirate freighters bumbling about that they were about to run into, but instead an entire kriffing mini army. Aadya would have much rather been flying a ship meant for fighting but she was going to make the best of what she had. Shadowing the firepower of Zan seemed to be the best idea. Aadya wasn't entirely confident in her ability to out dogfight seven star fighters at the same time.

Tailing Zan, keeping back and more to her left side, Aadya watched as several of the fighters went down in balls of fire. Her eyes were drawn towards the group of three fighters whose shields shrugged off the brunt of the damage. Aadya doubted they'd be able to handle a second barrage so abruptly.

*The ball turret of on top of her freighter swiveled to aim at the trio of fighters, Aadya taking the time to line up the shots. With a quick grouping of pew pew pew, Aadya strafed the trio and managed to make contact enough with all of them to send them careening towards Tatooine in balls of fire.

She saw some of the other ships rounding to get better fire lines on her but Aadya's ship couldn't turn on a dime like the fighters. Gripping the yolk, Aadya braced herself for what may be coming next.

They were closing on the two of them and Zan did not like how quickly they were doing it. "Frickin end them!" She called over the inner ship communications. They needed to just take out these bloody starfighters. If they did not then they would be in some deep spit when the other ships got in range.

Well, it seemed her words had maybe some affect. Because three of the four starfighters were distroyed by the combined laser cannon fire of her heavy starbomber. The last one was able to get off a salvo, bringing down the ship's shields twenty five percent before it was traced, nearly getting past the starbomber but later getting taken out.

Immediatly after that was done she began turning her ship away from the remaining pinnaces. They were just coming into range. Growling she called out to Aadya. "Watch out, five more contacts remaining."

Going to focus on the remaining four starfighters. (Barely a success)

Despite the decent success Aadya and Zan had together dogfighting pirates, Aadya wasn't really that much of an ace pilot. Watching the pinnaces close in on their position, she couldn't help but have a little trouble tracing them to get off any turret fire. The pinnaces were really fast, much faster than Aadya's ship anyway, and two of them broke formation in an attempt to take out the freighter. Probably a smart move considering the firepower of Zan's ship.

The pinnances began to fire their weapons towards Aadya who wasn't really sure what to do. *"Evasive maneuvers" was really the only thing that came to mind, so that's what she attempted to do. Gripping the yoke of the ship, Aadya slammed it forward to send her freighter into a nose dive, letting her shields take the brunt of the blaster fire on the broad side of her ship. The shields seemed to hold up well enough and the ship seemed to still be flying at its normal pace, though Aadya was sure she was straining the thing's ability with her sudden moves.

"Get these guys off me, Zan!" She shouted over comms. Aadya would be playing the mouse in the cat-and-mouse game for now, the pinnaces clearly better suited for dogfighting than her lowly freighter.

In this fight Zan was the guns. Zan was also the defensive tanker. The main thing Aadya's ship was the cargo carrier which was no less important. As a matter of fact it probably was more important than her own. Shots arced towards the heavy star bomber and a few slammed into the heavy military grade shielding. Thankfully it was that tough because of the upgrades the Deucalian had put on it. The ship was slow and bulky compared to others.

With the starfighters out of the way there were just the troublesome pinnaces to deal with. Hearing Aadya call over the communication link Zan immediatly turned her attention towards the area the freighter was located. Her eyes speed read the signals on her scanners and other diagnostics. "On my way!" She said and hit the XXX sublight booster, throwing her ship hurtling towards the tail of the two harassing storm pinnaces.

It took her a moment but the ship at max speed was able to gain on them. They were intentionally going slower than their maximum speed to keep Aadya in their sights. But too bad for them since the numerous turrets on Zan's ship opened up and pumled the two ships relentlessly. They stopped firing and tried to get away, forgetting about the Sith that had been in front of them and began worrying about the Crusader hitting them from behind. It was too late for them though, their critical systems were hit and they were out of thee fight.

Zan thought they were in the clear for a moment but was soon reminded those enemies were not the only ones left. A few medium laser shots from the enemy ships hit the shields of Red Yeeter's Lash, dimminishing them further. "Mind returning the favor?" The tail gunners would have enough to fire and as many laser cannons on one enemy was ideal.

Focusing on two Pinnaces. (Barely a success)

Like her own personal gallant knight, Zan had zoomed over to Aadya and gotten the bad guys off her ass, sending them careening to their fiery deaths like they deserved. Aadya's feeling of reprieve was short lived however, as two of the remaining pinnances started firing on Zan. Unsure of how much more her partner's shields could handle, Aadya figured she could return the favor.

Banking her ship hard to the left, Aadya gave her ball turret a clear line of sight on the enemy fighters. *It sprayed out an intense burst of blaster fire, lighting up both ships along their entire hulls and poking holes in their vital systems. Aadya watched as the pirate fighters sputtered and died before exploding, taking them cleanly out of the fight and leaving just one lone pinnace to fend off against the two Sith.

"Lets finish off these idiots before any more get the bright idea of trying to take us out while we're damaged," Aadya said, flipping some switches to check the status of some of her systems. The freighter seemed to be holding up well enough, at least for now and Aadya was in no mood to test its limitations.

She was trying as best as she could to avoid damage from the two enemies giving chase to her. The lash heavy star bomber was normally sluggish and bulky to move. Thankfully for Zan, she had the foresight to upgrade its manueverability with some burst thrusters. But it was still a large vessel compared to others and the pinnaces were on par if not faster.

Aadya had her back though. She laid into the attacking pinnaces with her freighter. The pilots of those ships must be narrow minded and not worthy of their ships because they had just been bested by a freighter. It would be embaressing for Zan if she ever got bested by a ship like that while inside a superior dogfight worthy vessel. But maybe Aadya was also just that good. "Agreed."

The last ship was a bit apart from the others so they would make their way towards it together. "You know we tied back in the coluseum. You remember the wager? I kill more you owe me a drink. If you win, you get to order me around for a day. I think you just earned that by kicking so much arse today." She said both as a compliment, and to her own surprise, a flirtation.

Before she could get Aadya's reply though a warning went off in her cockpit. They had target lock on her ship. Cursing in Deucalic she reactivated the XXX sublight booster to get as much distance with them and delay the inevitable incoming ordnance. Her gunners fired to force the remaining target to perform their own evasive manuevers and not follow up on Zan's ship. The warning changed and was now letting her know the concision missiles were closing fast. Activating the manual surge of her burst thruster her craft whipped around just in time for the missiles to streak past. The snapping maneuver was jarring to say the least but the danger had been avoided, for now.

Going to pull some evasive maneuvers since she took some damage
(Success)
