((That doesn't matter. Force telepathy can be picked up by non-force sensetives.))

Ren smiled, lauging at Kylina's discomfort. She strode with supprising ease considering the power she was putting out into Kylina's mind. She pushed firther into her mind, reaching the id, the subconcious that Kylina kept locked away. All of her spikes came together to form a drill, to bore through the thick psychological plating that surrounded it.

''I think, my dear, you should back down now. I'll let you go freely. I see no point in wasting my effort on you, so call your little slave, and be away.''

((Fine, fine, but he's a bit busy right now anyways, so he's ignoring her for the moment. Stop whining and fight! Luke didn't whine, and he got his hand cut off!))

"Copy that. Don't make sudden maneuvers for the next few minutes."

The cannons started howling as blaster shots rip through Sith formations, fraying some, damaging others. The swarm then broke in half, as the squadron leader decided that it would be best to keep both prey busy. The Unseen Gauntlet continued circling, and the pilot set the ship to auto-pilot. He set the shields at maximum rear and strode out of the cockpit, and braced himself as the G-Wing took a hit. A lucky one, close to the front.

"Don't worry about it," he muttered, "compensation comes later."

Entering the dorsal gunner's turret, the lone mercenary went to work.

While the unknown mercenary held off the Sith fighters, Jyris continued to fuse together wires, wishing desperately for a few more seconds, a little less work, a little bit more power in his shields in case of a stray shot. He knew that he had only a very little amount of time to take out that ion cannon and pick Kylina up before she got slaughtered by Ren. He'd heard her plea for help, but he had other things to worry about for the moment.

Finally, with a cry of triumph, Jyris fused the last couple of wires together, and he could hear the blaster turrets power up in the background. He dashed back to the pilot's chair and threw all power into the front blasters of the Kutless. With a determined look, he began to pound away at the massive cannon, the bolts cutting deep into the durasteel plating of the massive gun. All the while, sweat was pouring down the pilot's face, and he could hardly keep his aim straight. Despite the fact that it was such a large target, he was aiming for the central part of the gun, where the blasts were issued from. If he could get a few direct hits to the cannon, it would damage the structure enough to render it useless. He shot it once, twice, flames beginning to appear around the edges of the structure....

((I think you are next on my 'to kill' list, jyris))

Kylina backed up some more as her head ached. Why hadn't Ren ever taught her this? She deactivated her lightsaber, but she didn't give the sith time to react when she shot both hands out and sent double the amount of lightning. She knew that even Ren would be hard pressed to avoid it

Lukor noticed a mercenary working to one of the turbolasers and took no time in chaseing the mercenary. Once the man, however, got into his ship, it seemed too late. The mercenary did the deed, attacking one of the turbolasers and preparing to destroy it. However, Lukor was not prepared to allow this to continue. Pointing both hands at the fighter, Lukor called upon the force to pull the fighter into the exploding turbolaser.

There was no chance of escape, safe for jumping out of the ship. With the power of the force, nothing was impossible as the fighter gt close enough for the ship to get destroyed with it.

The unknown merc saw the ion cannon go up in flames, ready for the inevitable explosion. Then he saw that the ship is, somehow, sliding towards it, even though the engines are trying to turn the hulk around.

This is beyond natural. Anything beyond natural can be blamed on by the "Force" thing that he was told about.

He made the quick decision to get rid of the pesky Sith fighters before helping. Whomever is pulling the Kutless towards that wreckage has to be powerful. The mercenary kept an eye on the Sith vessel holding (unknownst to him) Lukor, fearing who will be the next target...

* * *

((Heheh... Enishi just, indirectly, reminded me that I forgot to put how I got there in the first place. *slams head on desk* Forgot that tiny detail... Anyways, the following will clear stuff up))

The merc was stationed on Coruscant as a scout, of sorts. Posing as a merchant transporting machine parts, it took a while to convince that his ship was outfitted with cannons to make pirates second-guess their attacks. He even got bounty warnings if the weapons were for messing with the Sith... Which they were... But, with the innocent-looking equipment smuggled into Coruscant, the mercenary scout managed to change his ID signature to the Unseen Gauntlet, from the Iron Mask. It would take some scrutinuity in order to figure out the change.

When the attack came, this scout made a move in order to keep himself hidden in the crowd of fleeing refugees, then burst out as orders to disable Sith ion cannons were relayed to his ship.

OOC: I'm going to ignore the attack on the laser cannons until it has Bac's approval.

Within his underground bunker, the General watched the battle unfold on a holographic projector. As he witnessed the Omega Cell's foolish charge against the Sith Armada, his lips curled into a smile. Naval charges had been made obsolete eons ago. It was obvious that their opponents were not as competent as the Republic Navy. Suddenly, an officer broke the horrid silence that hung about the Command Center. "Sir, the enemy is attempting to land. Your orders?"

In a jointed strike, the massive turbolasers along with squadrons of Sith Starfighters and heavy gunships diverted their enormous firepower upon the incoming wave. The Sith fighters began chasing the squadrons of the Order of Rage while the turbolaser and the gunships bore their attack, a mix of potent laser fire and lethal proton torpedoes, against the slower moving dropships. Throughout the streets, the Sith soldiers, meanwhile, were hurrying like ants. Sniper nests were placed on the high roofs and weapon emplacements were strategically set, just beyond the many minefields. The Sith held their capital dear, they would not allow it to fall at the hand of those bandits.

Ren felt the lightning was over her. She absorbed the brunt of the damage, but still, some caused harm. She stopped for a second, the spikes pulling away slightly from her subconcious. She refocused, and tried a different tack. She sent her spikes through Kylina's head, looking for any memories of Sith teachings. She ripped them apart, leaving fragments. She of course left all the inhumane things she had done in, and withdrew. ''So, you decide to fight. Noble, but futile. Now die.'' Ren held out her hands, and lightning sprung from her palms.

He was always a light sleeper, bad things tended to happen when he slept. Most of the time he just woke up in a random location he had never seen before, so it was no surprise to him that when he woke he was in the bed of a dive somewhere on Coruscant. Rubbing his head, he plodded into the shower and cleaned himself up. Looking in the mirror he thought that he must have gotten into a fight last night as there were a few cuts above his right eye. After a good long shower he dried himself off and pulled on his robes, putting his other robes into a small bag. Leaving the 'establishment' via the back door he slipped into the crowd. Then he looked up...

Kylina was a little surprised that the lightning did not do as much damage as she hoped, but she didn’t let that get her mind off Ren. Somehow she put up a mental block against Ren and avoided her ‘spikes’ for the most part. She felt the pain graze her, but it was intensified when the lightning hit her. She stumbled back and landed on the ground. She quickly reached into her pocket and pulled out a medshot. She pushed it into her leg to help the pain. She could only hope that Jyris was on his way. She slowly stood back up and ignited her lightsaber again. She was struggling to stay up, but she knew that the Force would guide her.

At that moment, Jyris let out a whoop of triumph as the ion cannon exploded, but in an instant, he noticed that the Kutless was drifting closer to the cannon. Cursing to himself, he threw more power into the engines, but nothing happened. With a sigh, he diverted all the power he could to the shields, and when the explosion hit, they were drained, but the hull didn't burn through. There was a large scorch mark on the side of the freighter, but that could be buffed out without any real problems.

When the explosion subsided, Jyris glanced over at Kylina, who was busy fighting with Ren. To his horror, he saw her get hit with a bolt of Force Lightning and hit the ground. In a quick movement, he swung the ship around and fired a couple of warning shots at Ren to get her to back away from Kylina. He then landed and lowered the boarding hatch with a slight grin.

"Miss me?" he asked with a cheeky smile. All the while, though, he kept his blasters focused on Ren. He wasn't going to kill her if he could help it, but he wanted to make sure that she wouldn't ambush Kylina as she was climbing up the loading ramp. His expression turned a bit more serious after a second. "Contact the Republic fleet and let them know that this area is relatively secure, save for the homicidal puppet master. They should be able to land a few troops without too many problems."

Kylina thanked whatever god watched over her and slowly made her way to her ship. Her poor ship needed a lot of work now and she was more upset about that then her present physical condition. Once she was up the ramp she turned back and looked at Ren with vengeance. “We will meet again!”

She fell inside the ship and looked at Jyris, “Lets get outta here. We did our part.”

Looking into the sky above he saw the explosion but hardly heard it, the noise around him drowned everything out. People were running and screaming, fearing for their lives, scrambling with their posessions. Someone nearby dropped a small silver case without noticing, seeing it fall, he reached down and picked it up. It was engraved and when he flicked it open he got the scent of flowers, an image of a beautiful woman smiled at him. He smiled back, slipping the case into his bag and carrying on his way.

Lukor cackled to himself as the ship was pulled into the explosion. A futile sacrifice. There were many turbolasers that could destroy the majority of the invader's fleets. His cackle turned into a look of surprize and eventually anger as the ship managed to survive a large explosion, capable of destroying a large transport even with its shields at maximum capacity. The ship barely had a scorching mark; this was impossible.

What made him more angry was the smile the mercenary had when he landed to help his friend. His teeth bared as his breathing increased ten fold. Calling upon the force again, Lukor ran towards the mercenary; eyebrows narrowed and teeth gritted. He would kill this mercenary one way or another.

One Cannon already down, the small packs of insurgents spread throughout the city scape kept their attacks up on the Cannon complexes.

Rhine, positioned near the destroyed Complex watched the fight between the force users, the Mercenary, and his would be assailant. While usually going through missions without giving a damn about the small players, he knew a ship that could survive a blast like that could eventually come in handy. And so would its Pilot. And so while the angry sith ran at the Mercenary, Rhine aimed the laser Cannon at him. All it would take is one shot. Of course, this man was much, much smaller than a Turbo laser Cannon...

The Sith fighters swarmed the Unseen Gauntlet, spraying blaster fire all around. Another rumble as the shields were slowly eaten away. He hissed to himself, and performed another barrel roll, trying to give himself some extra time to hold of the remnants of the squadron. His shields slowly came to the critical level. Warning mechanisms kicked in, causing an annoying, continuous wail that echoes throughout the ship.

"These guys... Jeez," he muttered, "I shouldn't installed that device..."

He once again looked at the battle raging above. Now that looks like fun. He thought to himself. The only problem was, he had no way of getting up there. He'd been spoiling for a good fight for weeks, judging by the cuts on his head, he finally had it last night. Damn Him for getting into a fight when I'm not around, He'd better have torn them a new one. Bringing his eyes back to th ground he saw that the crowds were dispersing. He had to find somewhere to go and something to do, but last time he was awake he was on the other side of the planet and had no idea where he was now.

Jyris grinned at Kylina, then paused as he glanced up at the ion cannon, which had exploded. Although he knew that it hadn't looked like it at the time, the ship had only gotten the fringes of the explosion, which was the only reason why Jyris wasn't a large pile of ash at the moment. How he had ended up drifting so close to the impending explosion, however, was a mystery. Still, he had other problems to worry about.

Out of nowhere, Jyris saw a lone person charging towards him with a look of absolute hatred on his face. The young pilot stared in disbelief at the surprising sight of a random person charging towards him from out of nowhere. It was extremely odd, especially considering that his assailant wasn't very smart, apparently. For one thing, there was a Sith Knight with him as a companion, and Jyris could hold his own in a fight as well. Not only that, but there was a third factor his attacker had failed to figure in.

Because he had destroyed one of the ion cannons, he figured that he and Kylina would show up on someone's radar, and he doubted that the attacking fleet would just let him die without at least repaying the favor, if not trying to recruit him. His instincts were apparently right; out of the corner of his eye, Jyris saw a turbolaser cannon pointing at the foolish suicidal attacker. In short, if this man was foolish enough to throw his life away, Jyris had no problems with it.

Sighing, the young man drew his small assassin's pistol and turned to Kylina. "We've got a bit of a problem. Mind covering me?" With that, he turned and opened fire on the attacker, bright red blaster bolts speeding towards him as he waited for the attacker to either break off his attack or get killed in one of three different ways: his blaster, Kylina's saber, or their unknown ally's cannon.
