HAST

Mon_Calamari_Shipyards.jpg

Geography

Coordinate: U-6, Wild Space

HyperLane: N/A

Climate:
A very weak atmosphere results in not much climate change on the planet. The planet is very young compared to most, and thus the combination of volcanic soot and the chill of space make for a rather unpleasant atmosphere for most living beings.

Terrain:

Flat, cracked stone and dust over much of the surface. Random mountains (many of which are active volcanoes) seem to jut out of the crust. Some water sources such as massive lakes and rivers, though not as much as most life-sustaining planets.

Rotation:

40 GSH.

Satellites:
-One small moon that is really more of a glorified asteroid. Named Farkled, supposedly because some of the first inhabitants used to say "If that thing decides to drop on us, we're well and truly farkled."

-Hast Shipyards

Inhabitants:
None

Resources:
Heavy Metals
Some Water
Sulferous/Acidic Chemicals

Civilization

Government: None

Culture:
None

Technology:

Hast Shipyards

History:
Hast was a planet first discovered and colonized around 11,987 BBY. Colonists looking to vacate the inner reaches of the galaxy to escape the wars of the earlier years of the republic turned their attention to the far outer rim and even the wild space beyond in search of a peaceful refuge. Unfortunately, the colonists found nothing more than a young, angry planet with an incredibly inhospitable atmosphere and a deadly disposition. Most colonization attempts had to be abandoned. However, word reached some of those in the upper echelons of the Inner Rim states of a young planet, known only to a precious few, with deposits of heavy metals, out in the middle of nowhere where no one needed or wanted to go. Some unknown group chose the planet as the location for the first of a series of secret shipyards where the sect would construct ships to bolster their fleets. The shipyards were completed and produced a number of ships, but as the Inner Rim planets began to cease their wars and unite to expand the Republic to it's current state, it was eventually decided that Hast was simply too far from the core worlds to be of logical use. Shipping supplies and materials out into the far reaches of space was dangerous, time consuming, and costly. The yards were eventually abandoned, the satellite stations left in a protective orbit behind the single moon Farkled in case the original owners chose to return at some point in the future. Of course, they never would return, and the shipyards would lie there, dormant and forgotten.

This is kind of an interesting situation, as this planet is kind of a cross between Cannon and Fannon. Hast does exist in cannon, as seen Here, and there are indeed shipyards there. However, the location is not referred to until the New Republic era and little to no info is given on the planet itself. Just the shipyards. So, I thought I might take a swing at a little fill-in-the-blank here and see if I couldn't bring the planet to life here on the site. However, since the site timeline is 7,000 years before the movies, I had to come up with a reason why there is little intel on the planet itself (virtually uninhabitable) and why there would be a shipyard there (Pius Dea Era). And, since it is the location of a cannon shipyard, I thought it might be allowed.

I'm suspicious that this will not be approved, but one never knows until one tries. Please be gentle! T.T

The only portion of this that I really am concerned about are the constant references to the Pius Dea era. I'd be more comfortable if it was just a planet colonized a long time ago if you keep a similar history. @Yuan

This almost seems like more of a write up for the shipyards than the planet the more I think about it, but I can see how they both tie together and there wouldn't be much to say on the planet if you keep as close to the canon info as possible. So while I do think it is a bit of a mixture this seems okay for what it is. Just keep that in mind for future submissions.

Approved.
