I went today to the cinema and watched this in 3d.
I have a hard time remembering when was the last time i was so dissapointed/angry with a movie. What in the ****ing hell, they made everything so predictable, they changed a lot of important things and made them a lot more lame, for those who read the book and want some spoilers, or for those who already watched it here it is a couple of things that comes to my mind, in no order in particular.
#1 Snape: SWEET BLEEDING JEGUS. In the book he said "look at me", his death was misterious, left you with a strange feeling. Why did he say that? It was a "dark" character's death, but still it didn't feel right, Harry still pretty much hated the guy because he killed Dumbledure, after, and only AFTER, you read his memories you could connect the events and realise what was it all about. It was like a shocking revelation. All the way until there were no hints at all of where did his true loyalties were, speculation only at most.
In the movie its like "oh harry, you have your mother's eyes :CHappy" tears and all. Could they make it even more predictable? Like when they made Snape sush Harry in the previous film before killing Dumbledore? What in the ****ing hell way to spoil what was supposed to be an important revelation.
#2 Neville: Remember the book, brave Neville who got tortured after Harry's death, in front of everyone and then with a huge pain he pulled ****ing Griffindor's sword out of the hat and beheaded the snake in a dramatic resolution of events? In the movie he's a) crippled b) takes the sword out of the hat in a totally casual way, before time and does nothing with it until half an hour later c) They don't even torture him or do anything, he just gives a short speech and thats it. d) he gets knocked out and then comes back to his senses and looks at the sword, then he knooows Ron and Hermione are randomly having troubles with the snake in some part of the castle, because, yeah, they have to hog the spotlight somehow. So he forgets he's crippled, waits until the last moment to kill the snake, though he was even less stealthy that when Ron tried it and bam, done.
#3 Snape's memories: Way too brief, you don't get a shit. They knew each other as children (Lily and him) "She's jealous because you're special and she's not" "Oh, haha" then a few shots as she is in Griffindor, then another as she's kissing James, then slightly a bit more as the parents die. Leaving the espectator with little to no idea about how their relationship went, if it was a crush or what. A childhood friendship, an affair?. That was (in my opinion) the most important thing in the book, Snape's memories, it was like the missing pieces of a big puzzle, yet in the movie nothing is explained properly.
#4 Bellatrix vs Ron's mother: That was so, so incredibly lame i can't explain. Instead of the dynamic, vivid fight that happens in the book, in the movie they're just a few meters from each other, and after she tries to attack Ginny she says "not with my daughter lalala" they exchange generic short tiny lightbeams without even moving or making anything at all, until a few seconds later Bellatrix dissolves herself into little bits. Just like that, nothing else.
Among other things that i can't get myself to write down right now.
