Entry 01
My ship, the Harbinger, and an unknown Mandalorian shuttle have crash-landed on a mysterious forest planet. I have managed to survive the crash with minimal injury, so I must assume they too survived. The boarding crew was dealt with earlier, there were a lot of Mando’an expletives invoked, I couldn't draw any information out of them, my only hope now is to get off this ship and find cover.
End Recording.
Entry 02
I was ambushed. 5 Mandalorian warriors managed to set up a trap in the woods for me. I ran, but their jet packs are swifter than I. I managed to lose them in this strange cavern system, after killing two. Interestingly enough, one carried a broken lightsaber. That being said, my electroblade was also broken in the conflict, and I am bereft of energy cells for my blaster. Not that any of that matters now, they managed to get a stab in my side, and I don't believe I'm going to make it out of this one. To you who finds the datapad, inform my family and friends I'm sorry. I love them all.
End Recording.
Entry 03
I was saved. At least I believe I was. I awoke in this cavern system with mended wounds and a strange, wolf-like creature watching over me. Perhaps I am going insane, but I swear it speaks. Tells me to follow, brings me food. It is most strange. I am unsure of as to how much time has passed. Perhaps I am already dead.
End Recording.
Entry 04
Turns out, I am very much alive, as the pain suggests. I cannot stay here long, but this being insists I remain. It seems he uses the Force to communicate directly with my mind. He has told me to save my strength and construct a weapon. But I have nothing with which to work with.
Update: The wolf has instructed me in the ways of creating a lightsaber. It has been done through meditation asnnd salvaging what I could from the broke Saber and my electroblade. This cave luckily had naturally forming Kyber crystals. The one I bonded with turned as black as the night’s sky, causing the being to almost laugh. He seems pleased. I've designed a crossguard, as a form of practicality. And now, we will eat and talk.
End Recording.
Entry 05
My wounds have healed at a miraculous rate, and I now stand ready to face the Mandalorians. I can hear them, blasting wildlife outside the cave. My powers have grown stronger here, as well as my bond with the Force. As the wolf calls it, he prepared a final test. To face that which I most fear. I will do so now, and when I return I shall update this log.
Update. I am shaken. What I saw, it was as terrible as could be. My home, burning. Thousands slaughtered. And a dark figure looming over them like a carrion, facing a blinding angel. It was their careless fighting that gutted so many innocents. But another being stepped in, and defeated the beings with a blinding blast of energy. As if the vision was not bad enough, I faced two versions of myself. One Sith, fully consumed by the dark side and convinced I was and traitor to the Empire. And another, a Jedi who believed my death would bring about an end to the war. As is obvious, I passed and survived. But I am not the same. Not Not the same…
There must be a better way. A simpler way to win this war. To bring about the peace I so desire.
The wolf laughed at these thoughts, and told me that in the time of greatest despair there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as The Son of the Suns. A chosen warrior to bring balance to the Force. I begged, pleaded for further answers. But he gave none, beyond a single sentence; Go to Mortis, find me there. All shall be answered.
And so I shall. I shall go to Mortis. For my Empire.
End Recording.
Entry 06
The time has come. I awoke, fully healed, with no sign of my companion. The Mandalorians have entered the cave. To normal ears they are silent and deadly, however they are loud and obnoxious to me. This darkness is to my advantage, as I can see much better than they can, they will require lights. I do not. I go now, to defeat them, with no doubt in my mind that victory is assured.
End Recording.
Entry 07
They have been defeated. But I have not left unscathed. They took my left arm, elbow down. If I do not tend to it soon, I will lose too much blood. Cauterizing it is my only option. Luckily, I've found a long range transmitter and I've sent an encrypted message to Imperial High Command. Hopefully they receive it.

Intent: To give my character a personal and achievable goal, to solidy and continue his own personal story arc, and to bring about his shift between cold, calculating tactician to wise, warm-hearted warrior. It also serves as an in-character history for where Vrist has been for 5 years (during the Timeskip. 4 spent being a Moff, 1 on the mysterious planet).
//:EXCERPT FROM INCIDENT ABOARD THE HARBRINGER
VRIST: Admiral, call the evacuation order! That ship had damaged our engines and stabilizers. We don't have long before…
//Blaster Fire, door flies open/
Admiral: Mandalorians? AGGH!
//More blaster fire/
Vrist: Harbinger, this is Lieutenant Vrist. We've been boarded by…
//Screams in Mando, punches and a sickening crunch/
Vrist: Everybody to the Escape Pods! NOW!
//Alarms blare, running feet, screams and more blaster fire. A louder pistol is heard returning fire, groans in Mando./
Vrist: Sergeant, get everyone to the pods. I have a plan.
Sergeant: Sir, you're not staying on this ship! We've entered orbit!
Vrist: Everyone to the pods, Sergeant. That's an order!
//Gasping and running. Alarms get louder and spitting broken electronics can be heard/
Vrist: Attention Imperial Fleet, this is Acting Admiral Vrist’Iluok’bricors-
//Sound of turning and close blaster fire, a metal object clatter to the ground/
Vrist: My ship has come under attack, and I am requesting reinforcements for any survivors! I repeat-
//A louder explosion, the sound of rapid button pushing/
Vrist: Time to even the odds.
//Sound of engines whirring and blasting forwards, scraping. The two ships collide in a shower of explosions and sparks/
Sergeant (Over Comlink): Respectfully sir, get the karablast of that ship! Any chance of steering it is gone, it's going to the surface!
Vrist: Are the escape pods away?
Sergeant: All but mine, sir.
Vrist: Launch. The debris is preventing me from leaving the bridge.
Sergeant: It's been an honor.
Vrist: Likewise.
//Large explosion, resounding thud.
End Recording/
