Cpl. Patrick O'Hare sat in the briefing room listening to his commanding officer. Although he was at times too distracted with the fact that they had confirmed that the Covenant had landed on Reach. He was ODST with several years of service under his belt. The briefing essentially told him they were going to drop behind enemy lines and do recon for the rest of the human counter attack.
After the briefing he grabbed his helmet and pulled it on. It had evidence of his last few tours: scrapes, scratches, and dents. But it still fit and still worked so he still wore it happily. O'Hare walked down a long hallway and grabbed a DMR out of the Armory then headed directly to his drop pod. He strapped the rifle in place and sat down. He was strapped in tightly and then sealed the airtight door. And now it was just time to sit and wait for drop time.
