Rowrakruk Spaceport
Kashyyyk
For Vu’thari, coming back to Kashyyyk could have been considered “too soon”. While there were some lessons learned and some friends that came out of the Life Day experience, there was also pain that came from it. Not only working with a group of Mandalorians running a slaving camp that he helped break up, but also the deep memories that the Jedi had done a good job of covering the surface up, came rising back to his consciousness...in full color. Upon touching the Life Tree, all of those memories were relived as if he were experiencing them again for the first time. Traumatic in every way, but it was also an awakening, understanding what had to be done for the sake of the continuing existence of the Jedi.
Duty…
It was the word that sprung to his mind. While it could be a burden and a heavy obligation at times, it also provided purpose and direction, but most of all an organized avenue for justice in an unjust galaxy…the Galactic Alliance.
This is what brought Vu’thari and Ayasha back here. As they strolled through the spaceport outside of Rowrakruk, those memories were at the forefront. He knew Ayasha could since his slight unease being here, but he took a deep breath and forced the anxiety to a simmer instead of a boil. They were here to meet one of Aurora Blackwood’s Padawans. They had been tasked by Commander Ion to see about a lost delivery of medical supplies that fell into the Black Forest, or more commonly known as, the Shadowlands. The reason they were called was simply that wookies did not go there. It was a place of dark legend and superstitution…and many wookies never returned from such a place. Vu’thari knew it would be dangerous, but perhaps that is why he was sent with two of the most experienced Padawans of the fledgling Jedi.
Landing the Equinox in the Black Forest was not an option, the tree cover was so thick, it could not hope to find a place to land. Not to mention, most couldn’t provide enough cable to make it down to the bottom of the massive wroshyr trees. So Vu’thari rented a trio of speeder trucks that could wiggle their way to the last known location of the medical supplies that the local wookies desperately needed.
The Jedi picked up three cups of caf, taking one and passing the other as they waited on Aurelian to meet them. Looking over at Ayasha, he sensed some unease, but overall, his padawan was an island of calm. Smiling, he said, “Enjoy this light while you can…not much of that where we are going…”
