At long last the deed is done...

Grericevin Dorokohna
NAME: Excellency Prince Grericevin Javan (Veraskaya*) Dorokohna**
*Absent from his legal and official identification.
**He carries the feminine form of the name "Dorokohn" due to his mother's much higher station than his father. Despite this he would still be known as "Prince Dorokohn" when his title is used and "Mr. Dorokohna" in a more casual setting.
ALIAS: "Seven", given by Valla Krass, though he prefers "Grer" as a shortening of his unwieldy name.
FACTION: The Republic
RANK: N/A

SEX: Male
AGE: 24
SPECIES: Human
HOMEPLANET: Alsakan
HEIGHT: 6'2''
WEIGHT: 150 LBS
FORCE SENSITIVE: No
An Alsakani Prince by birth and a Psychologist by trade, Grericevin Dorokohna seems like a man out of steps with the principles and purpose of the Border Alliance militia but his presence is indicative of a modern military and his skill set his broader than most of his peers.

Personality

Bright, kind and compassionate, Grer feels deeply and cares truly for those around him and wishes to first and foremost ensure their wellbeing. A kind word, a small but warm smile and a peaceable aura are hallmarks of both his profession and his personality. Grer is a man who is totally and utterly in control of his own person, mind and body and knows who he is and refuses to be compromised, though does not expect others to be like him or emulate him. His composure, compassion and intelligence are his most defining characteristics and are well displayed when one encounters him.

Introspective, philosophical and wise, Grer is deeply contemplative but does rage and obsess over thought experiments. His books were constant companions in his early life and their imparted knowledge has continued to be at his service now. Maxims, sayings and metaphors endless are at his command and regularly deployed in an effort to help others through the difficult periods in their lives though some find his endless array of ancient proverbs and one-liners a bit annoying, along with the rest of his headshrink, perpetually happy personality.

Grer doesn't like to admit it but he carries several hallmarks of privilege. A crisp Alsakani accent, a preference for High Galactic, knowing who or what is in fashion and the ins and outs of protocol are just some of the many things he picked up as a child surrounded by the high aristocracy. While he is more than capable of looking after himself and doing things for himself, to anyone who observes him it is incredibly obvious he was not born to it and does many things elegantly and delicately to an almost absurd degree.

While he is not one to challenge a man to a duel over the slight of a lady's honor Grer certainly is chivalrous, a bit gallant and loyal to a fault. The most innocuous acquaintance deserves his undying loyalty and the unmet and far observed are benefactors of his unwavering and insatiable championship.

Skills and Abilities
A natural Human telepath, this is Grer's one truly stand-out ability among every one of his peers in whatever category he is placed. While not force sensitive, Grer does have the ability to look into the minds of others should he so choose. It is perhaps this ability that made him so interested in the study of minds and how they work, why they work. Befitting his nobility and courteousness, his abilities are not deployed lest someone else deems it appropriate through their own consent. Sometimes his abilities cause him minor headaches but they have always been remarkably easy for him to control, especially with tutelage of the Jedi of the court who trained him to control his abilities.

While not a medical doctor, Grer is trained and qualified as a nurse and field medic. While rarely tested outside of his course training and never on anything particularly serious, he remembers his training well and no one doubts that he can maintain his composure as readily on the battlefield as he does at headquarters.

Grer is similarly trained with small arms and has training with rifles and archery for sport, he has yet to test this training outside of controlled environments but he was noted as an excellent shot.

Grer has a speeder license but is not a licensed pilot though on their off-hours, his childhood-acquaintance come modern friend Vallana Krass has been teaching him the most basic piloting skills in a simulator.

Grer also has an incredible amount of skill and cultural capital from his childhood on Alasakan and his time spent with his "Aunt" Viechelin. While he does not have her skill or knack for politics, plotting and games he has been recognized as immensely intelligent and capable. While much of his knowledge has seemingly little practical value it does come in handy in the most unusual circumstances and his comrades have often seen that there is sometimes a need for a titled coreworlder in their midst.

Biography

Grericevin Dorokohna was not simply born as most children are, rather his birth was just as complicated, storied and filled with all the nuances of scandal, procedure, legality and legitimacy that his parents relationship had been. Grer's mother (at least biologically) was Her Imperial Highness Grand Duchess Veria Logohnia Kynazaskya Dorokohna, the youngest daughter of Emperor Allsinder II of Alsakan-Orr. Her father died five years later in the Great Tragedy and she was raised largely by her mother, the Empress Dowager Laurentia and was doted upon by her brother Allsinder III and his Corellian wife Rhaelle of Thronst and by Vallis.

The question of her marriage was a long considered but always distant topic. From the time she was four years old plans and imaginings for her eventual spouse had been considered. The Grand Duke of Vermonst, heir to the Landgrave of Thronst and by Vallis, was considered ideal despite his lack of an Imperial Dignity, especially after Allisinder II died and the new Emperor and Empress fancied a match between their niece and nephew. The Archduke Kristchen of Rucapar was considered solely on the basis of his Imperial Dignity but an attractive match none the less. Perhaps the most seriously considered marriage candidate came from King Corsin young King of Jolon, who was introduced to the Grand Duchess at the age of fourteen. To everyone's disappointment however, Grand Duchess Veria was no great beauty in her early teens and the bit older King Kristchen did not consider her attractive. Her reputation as being ugly was soon conflated and repeated across the planet and it was instantly clear to the Emperor and Empress that any potential match would be for material gain and both refused to push Grand Duchess Veria into an arranged, otherwise loveless marriage.

From that moment forward Veria was given an incredible amount of latitude and freedom to conduct herself as she saw fit, which to her meant a chance to further her education. Spending all her time with priests, theologians, scholars, doctors and luminaries, the Grand Duchess gained a reputation as being incredibly intelligent and bookish, which only furthered her reputation as being ugly and now bookish. The Court, which the Grand Duchess now rarely attended, would remain to the development of the young Veria over the subsequent decade until she attended the grand affair of the investiture of her nephew Grand Duke Lurrian as heir to her brother the Emperor. The court was shocked, the plain girl who had walked into the cloistered life of a scholarly tower at 14 had emerged one of the most resplendent beauties on Alsakan and perhaps even the galaxy at 24.

Images of the Grand Duchesses much developed visage spread like wildfire all over the planet and suitors once again came to the Palace, all clamoring for the hand of the most beautiful woman on the planet. For being seen as bookish, the Grand Duchess was genuinely charming, being funny, witty and animated in addition to her obvious and infamous intelligence, though it was for the first time that anyone else seemed to have noticed. All save one. (Lord) Ser Shand Dorrende, one of the members of the Emperor's personal honor-guards. Ser Shand had come to court with the wife of Grand Duke Lorec, Princess Merea of Thoron on the occasion of her marriage alongside his legendarily beautiful sister Lady Allyria Rocclair. Ser Shand had the occasion to see the cloistered Grand Duchess Veria several times during the time leading up to the Grand Duke's marriage and his investiture, which included Ser Shand's own investiture in the Honor Guard. He alone noticed Veria's incredible charms: physical, personal and intellectual, which seemed somehow lost on most others.

Veria likewise returned the good knight's attentions and they carried out a courtship during the last months of her reclusive existence at the palace. With her unveiling and a slew of renewed attention given to the prospect of her marriage, and a flurry of proposals, Veria turned them all down. For weeks it was something of a mystery as to why the Grand Duchess had turned down her pick of the princes of Alsakan. All was revealed a few months later when, after a secret proposal, Grand Duchess Veria presented herself before her brother the Emperor and simply asked for the Emperor's permission to marry. The jubilant smile on the Emperor's face quickly faded when Veria informed him that she intended to marry Ser Shand.

The Emperor flew into a mad furry, he nearly broke his sister's arm in his iron grip and ordered the immediate arrest of Ser Shand and held the Princess Merea and the Dowager Empress under guard for their alleged complicity in the "conspiracy" of his sister's courtship with a man much below her station. This led to immediate and fiery conflict between the Empreror and Grand Duke Lorec for the unjust imprisonment of his beloved grandmother, aunt and wife who was pregnant at the time. While the Emperor's rage was a terrible thing for near a month, the threats of divorce from his wife and mounting whispers of a coup or regency in favor of his son brought back the Emperor's sanity. He rescinded his hastily written death warrant for Ser Shand and released his female relations from their confinement.

While he allowed the pair to see each other, the question of their marriage was not so easily solved. At the time it was still technically illegal for women of the first and second degree of the Imperial Line (daughters and sisters of ruling Emperors) to marry morganaticly. Up until then no Imperial Princess had ever married a commoner or a Prince not in possession of a royal or imperial dignity. Emperor Allsinder used this as a reason to stall the idea of his sister's marriage to a mere "Lord" and a foreigner at that (while in Thoron all nobles are equal with all being "Lords" save the Royal Family and certain marcher lords, they carried no special or princely style which was unacceptable to the House Rules of Orr). He was forced to begin an allegedly arduous process of changing the House Laws but dragged his feet all through the affair. Meanwhile, Grand Duchess Veria quietly informed the Empress, the Empress Dowager and the Crown Princess that she was pregnant.

Emperor Allsinder stayed locked in his chambers for days, slipping decrees under the door and taking meals from his personal kitchen. While there would be no terrible wrath this time, the status of his sister's unborn child was a contentious one. Many potential options, actions and historical precedents had to be considered. At the end of his seclusion, the Emperor had decided on what to his mind was a most eloquent solution. Veria's unborn child would be born anonymously, carrying neither patronymics of his parents. Instead he would be born a generic, recognized Imperial bastard with the style of "Excellency" and the lowly title of non-ruling Prince. He would, however carry the name of the Imperial House "Dorokohna" but in the female line. In addition for marrying outside the law and having a child out of wedlock, Grand Duchess Veria would loose her place in the line of succession but maintain her Imperial Dignity, style and title.

These careful and meticulous twists of the knife with flicks of his pen were designed by the Emperor to pin prick his sister into submission but it was all for naught. Grand Duchess Veria gave birth barely having considered her brother's terms, which she did after marrying Ser Shand in Thoron, under their rule of law. This child, Prince Grericevin Dorokohna, legally had no parents and was, as far as was officially documented, an anonymous bastard member of the Imperial Line. So ends the storied tale of Grer's complicated birth.

In his early childhood, Grer was doted upon by a flurry of the highest ranked ladies in the Empire. His grandmother the Empress Dowager, his aunts the Empress Rhalle and Lady Allyria, and his maternal great aunt the Grand Duchess Arsinoe. In time, even the Emperor came calling upon the Imperial nursery to look upon the face of the child of his beloved sister. Tragedy struck however, when Grand Duchess Veria died two years later of an unknown illness. It was whispered that she was poisoned considering the quickness of her sickness and death, though no one could think of who meant the beautiful and kind Grand Duchess harm. Grer continued to be raised by the women of the court, though none more so than the two Empresses and his aunt, the celebrated beauty Allyria. Six years later, during the Rebellion of the Ten Valleys on Alsakan, Ser Shand, the Emperor and Grand Duke Lorec all went to put down the rebellion on the far side of the planet. There, Ser Shand would die taking an assassin's blade meant for the Emperor.

The Emperor himself died not long thereafter, allegedly after a long period of introspection and mourning over Ser Shand, the man who had made his sister happy and whom he had hated for it. It was then decided that Grer would be given to Lady Allyria to raise at her family's estate in Thoron, where she doted upon Grer and along with her own mother, raised Grer on the banks of the mouth of the Evertine at her family's estate, Wavecrest.

This would essentially become Grer's true home though he would spend periodic summers in Orr with his maternal relations and in the last years of her life the Old Empress Dowager Laurentia took up residence at Wavecrest, before dying peacefully in her sleep when Grer was seventeen. After his early childhood being marked by scandal and tragedy, his later childhood was remarkably idyllic and happy.

When Grer announced his intentions to pursue academia and psychology specifically, no one objected, it was thought befitting of the child of the late Grand Duchess and since Grer was the very definition of a minor member of the Imperial Line, there could be no serious objections to his wanting to find his path in life free of considerations of rank. Grer subsequently went to University on Chandrilla at the University of Leon, where he often stayed in the house of his "Aunt" Viechelin Farrs, the Sentor of Thyferra. He subsequently furthered his graduate education on Anaxes, where he earned his Doctorate in psychology. Having amassed an impressive array of skills and knowledge in reverence to just his mother's memory but his own inclinations and desires Grer now thought it was appropriate to do something his father would have approved of and decided to enlist in the Border Alliance militia rather than serving in the state forces of Alaskan. This was a very surprising decision and one that met with objections from his Aunt Viechelin and several others on political and personal considerations but lured by the promise of adventure and a sincere desire to help people, Grer, like his mother, would not be dissuaded and along with his old friend Vallana Krass, enlisted in the BA in the spring.

I don't know if I will continue in the BA or with Grer, at least for the near future. I'm a little busy with stuff and I'm just at the moment a little more focused on establishing Laurentia and her arc. So I would like Grer to be removed from the list and I will let you know if I intend to rejoin at some point in the future.
