Ok, my head is clear, I'm no longer upset and I'm ready to politely and honestly explain my reasons for leaving the site. I'm writing this because I felt it was only polite to let you know why I've gone, instead of just abandoning those I promised to RP with.
I attempted to re-post new versions of my characters after archiving the old versions, which I did not think was against the rules. My characters have now been deleted and permanently archived. It was my fault and I did not think about my actions, but my characters are just too important to me to replace.
Beyond that, I have been unhappy role-playing here for a long time. The way the site functions, the rules, the focus on PvP, the attitude towards character death, the Sith faction... is just not for me and I have made the decision to find an RP space that is more suited to my writing style. This is not a complaint about the site, this is me simply stating that the way I function as a person and a writer is not compatible with how this site works. I've spent more time being in grief, feeling restricted or trying to "suck it up princess" than actually enjoying myself and I hope you can respect that I need to find a more appropriate RP space for the sake of my mental well-being. I often tried to convince myself that I was happy here, but I was in denial.
I have found a site that is perfectly suited to my tastes and has far more opportunities for people who approach RP the way I do. I've been hesitant to leave SWRP for a long time because I'm so attached to the community here. I still value every one of you as friends and you're more than welcome to keep in touch or write with me elsewhere.
I hope you all enjoy your time here and I'd like to thank you all for being great friends and supporting me over the years.
