As his footsteps echoed down the hallway, Leonatas kept his gaze fixed ahead to the double doors the corridor ended in. Behind those doors was a conference room containing the delegation from the Tiberium Estates of Adumar. The Estates had always been opposed to the presence of the Paladins on their world, and though they had recently begun to reluctantly accept help on certain matters from the Order, they maintained their firm hold on trade in the area, which was preventing the Paladins from branching out and making more allies.

This was obviously a fairly substantial problem, and so Leonatas and a Paladin Knight had been sent to negotiate with the Estates' delegation in the hopes of lifting the trade restrictions. Truthfully, Leo knew little about the man coming with him. Reports from the Blackguard war told Leo that Volken was a capable warrior and loyal member of the Order, which was good enough in his book, at least for the present situation. Stopping just before the doors, Leo turned to face his comrade. "Before we go in there, is there anything you'd like to discuss or inform me of?"

Volken was walking with the Marshal as they moved along the corridor, giving him a few moments to study the older man. As of yet, Volken had never had any dealings with him, but his first impressions had been good. But then again, Volken already had a bit of a bias, he had heard of the battles the Marshal had fought, which had already made Volken respect the man. And the fact that he was elevated to Marshal because of them, only served to increase Volken's admiration of the man even more.

They stopped just before the doors, and the Marshal turned to Volken and offered a question. He considered for a moment, trying to balance the time the two might have and Volken's own curiosity about the Marshal specifically. He spoke curiously and with a neutral tone, "I've unfortunately been away from Adumar for longer than I would have liked, and I must admit, I know little about you or this world, nothing past hearsay anyway. So, how fares this world and what can I do to help? He smiled, it would be an honour help the Marshal, and it was simply good form to know about the common activities of the world you are sworn to protect.
