Developing an imperial base on Gizar wouldn't be the easiest of tasks, especially since there were numerous bounty hunters and mercenary groups prevalent in the area. Some of which had settled while the Imperials were busy fending off other hostile invaders, while others were living in secret and found only in times of surprise. Central monitoring systems had noticed considerable movement and activity in one of the adjacent cavern systems, one thought to be abandoned. Such movement was unlikely due to cavern dwelling creatures and likely due to hostile sentients. As such, Sith Crusader Arianna Marris took upon the mantle herself to investigate and eliminate all opposition. In assistance, she had brought two highly capable but yet unproven acolytes with her: Kerowyn Tempest and Maria Sloviaena.

Dressed in her black hades armor, an ebony cloak tightly fitted and wrapped around her body as the crusader slowly descended into the depths of the cavern system. The caves were a black abyss, save for poorly lit lanterns that decorated the rocky walls. Drawing the force around her, the sorceress channeled into her vile powers as green eyes slowly faded into a golden hue and dark side corruption fed into her body, granting her strength and focus. She was taking no chance, Lady Crusader leading the way as her crimson saber ignited in front of her and held defensively in right handed grip. The glow from the red weapon granting a sliver of guiding light in front of them.

As the trio advanced, a comm-link signal came into her earpiece. "Lady Crusader, 13 hostile signatures recognized..."

Equipped in her light armor and equipped with all the weapons she owned, Maria planned on a fight but her strategy was to hit from afar. She was eager to participate in this mission especially with a crusader such as Arianna which she has met multiple times in the past. “This base better be worth it ladies say after this can we hit the nearest cantina...but in the meantime let this party started” she said to her female comrades with vigor and enthusiasm as she drew her blaster rifle. She would save her lightsabers for later she thought to herself as she loaded in the first ammo cartridge into her el-47 blaster rifle.

In a frozen spirit is chaos quenched in cold. The smoldering in the ashes of my soul. Kerowyn was clad in her armor, proudly displaying the fact she was Sith. She couldn't care less what the intentions of the mercenaries had been for settling here, it was now in the possession of the Old Empire.

On this occasion, she was the sword of the Empire, drawn and swung to eliminate any dissidents within its territory. With her were two Sith she recognized quite well. The first being Crusader Arianna Marris, who had won her loyalty sometime before. The other was Maria Sloviaena, who had made a name for herself throughout the Acolytes thus far.

She had her full garb equipped with all the gear and weapons in her inventory prepped and ready to deal with whatever might come their way. As the Crusader took to the fore and drew the power of the Dark Side into herself, Kerowyn smiled.

She was always teeming with rage and hatred, there was no turning that off, but she tempered it with a cold and calculating heart. On the hunt relive it, to clinch all the reckless rage into control. Spinning the hilts in her hands, and with a crackling hiss, her two lightsabers flooded the cavern with their crimson light.

Taking her position between Maria and Arianna, Kerowyn found herself trudging through the cavern with deft steps, allowing the crusader to take the lead and hanging back ever so slightly. She heard the droid announce there where thirteen hostiles ahead, causing Kerowyn to smile.

She was ready for whatever the day would bring, she was prepared to kill. And she was more than happy to do all of it. This was what she had been created for, after all, and it was a prime chance for the Vahla to prove her worth to both the Crusader and the Empire.

Thirteen mercenaries were situated at different locations within the cavern system, as the Sith would exit into an opening, their red sabers allowed enemies to catch a visual prior and had the upper hand at least initially. The trio would begin to face heavy blaster fire coming from two primary angles, as teams of three soldiers were utilizing semi-automatic rifles against them. Arianna displayed no hesitance in her posture, releasing an augmented force scream as she dashed towards the right. Utilizing her natural abilities, she dodged blaster fire comfortably, using her lightsaber to deflect one bolt away and the other squarely back against a soldier's unarmored neck. The medium damage burned through his flesh, stench of burnt tissue flooding into the cavern as he collapsed to the ground with mortal wounds. A third soldier went to melee her with his rifle, but the Crusader rolled underneath the attack and came to a kneel, lifting her free left hand and released a cackling laughter. Fueled by anger and hatred, the vile sorceress instantaneously channeled the darkness into her being and sent out a cone of punishing green lightning towards the human. The attack incinerated armor and flesh underneath, hurling his corpse squarely into a group of other soldiers and temporarily disorienting them.

The Crusader was brutal and efficient, but as she was distracted by her consumption of darkness, she failed to realize another soldier charged at her from the blindside. Arianna quickly turned to bisect him in two, but this time found that he side-stepped the blow and smacked her squarely in the chest with the butt of his rifle. The lithe form of the crusader flew backwards and smacked against arms/ammunition cannisters, temporarily wind knocked out of her.

She rolled over a couple of feet in order to take cover behind some barrels she then opened fire on a soldier and killed him. She moved to the next and hit him in the hand making him drop the weapon but missed her final shot. She was thrilled with her success and yelled at the enemy “SUCK IT!!!!” She then said to @Kerowyn Tempest: “ can you go check on Lady marris?..try to lift her to safety with the force if you can.” She then checked how much ammo was in her el-47.

I am chaos. I am war. I am fury. And I am yours no more.
Kerowyn was a blur of motion, darting from the far right side of the cavern, avoiding the blaster fire with a deft hand. She carried herself directly into the fray, engaging the group that Marris had just stunned by hurling their ally into them. A wicked smile danced on her face beneath the helm as her sabers swung from left to right.

The first target was struck and bisected into two. The smell of smoldering flesh and burnt armor met her nose as she rotated on her heels, bringing the crossguard saber back up into a defensive posture. Her head swiveled towards the next opponent, and with a single step forward she was upon them, like a cat pouncing on it's prey.

The second swing from her paired saber caught the mercenary in a stab through the chest. She snarled as the Crusader went down nearby, kicking the man off her weapon and turning to them, roaring in anger. They began to retreat, moving back in a frenzy, temporarily stopping the continual blaster fire. That was a mistake.

"Distance will not protect you!" Her hand lashed out and sent the crimson crossguard saber flying across the room in a deadly arc, slashing through yet another opponent before returning to her hand. She found herself continuing to advance, both weapons raised, but the enemy was not fooled. They began to open fire once more, and it took the majority of her concentration just to ensure she wasn't hit by the hail of plasma that leapt her way. Kerowyn was forced to take a step back, and another, unable to assist Arianna under the heavy fire.

Luckily, she was prone, and so she wasn't in direct harms way. In either case, Kerowyn was unconcerned, she had no doubt the Crusader was capable of handling herself. She kept her weapons moving in a crazy eight pattern, deflecting the plasma into the ground as she continued to advance. She would place herself in front of Maria, and give her an opening to aide Arianna if the situation called for it. One of the mercenaries cried out, "You're outgunned! I'd pack up, ladies." The laugh that flew from her lips was sinister at best, savage at worst. Her reply came laced with venom and hatred. "Your efforts are futile. Look around, such is the price of defiance. Kneel and I shall consider delivering a swift death!"

Arianna appeared seemingly proud of the two acolytes, it appeared as they were handling their own and had so far proven to be valuable assets on this mission. Perhaps, she thought to herself in that glimpse of a minute where time stalled that she would congratulate the overseer on his job well done. However, reality hit, and it was unnecessary for a sith to hold such feelings. Snarling, she shot towards her full height, right palm opened as her saber hilt flew into her grasp and flickered it upwards to cut through her nearest enemy's carbine rifle. The man only had a split second to conceive what happened before a twirling sorceress tore him into two whole pieces. As the charred halves of corpse fell at her feet, she snarled and released a cone of force lightning towards the next man approaching her, though he was smart enough to hold another deceased soldier's torso out in front to block the incoming blow.

Before the Crusader had time to react, he pulled out his Strill side pistol and caught Arianna's armored chest with a medium damage bolt. Her smaller figure staggered back before tripping on a rock and onto the unwelcoming ground with a thud. The bolt melted through the breast plate but left the flesh intact. She drew the force closely around herself to defend as the soldier tossed his pistol away and ran towards her with a vibroblade.

Maria exits cover briefly and she opens fire on a mercenary and she kills him. She then returns to cover and thinks to herself “this...is a crusader, please I have killed more here and I am hiding behind a crate.” She then looks at the crusader who was using force lightning. She shook her head and then reloaded her rifle.

Kerowyn found herself advancing on a horde of hapless mercenaries. If these had been her soldiers, she would have executed each and every one of them for lacking the direct response against a force user. They were dividing their fire among three Sith instead of concentrating on a single one at a time. Fool's gambit, fool's errand, fool's death. Swinging her lightsabers in front of her, they rested in a tight defensive position.

Curling her arms back slightly, she began to swing gently into the direction of the enemy, attempting to reflect them back at those who would dare fire them. The crimson streaks of plasma met the crackling fire of her saber with a pop, but the first volley of reflected fire harmlessly careened into the wall. Growling, Kerowyn deactivated and stowed her second lightsaber, quickly shifting stances and grabbing the crossguard saber with both hands.

This time, she reflected the blaster bolts back at their intended targets, taking down two more opponents with startling ease. She watched as Arianna Marris hit the floor with a dull thud, and could not help but smile slightly. It seemed she was not having a good day. Even the cone of Force Lightning had an ill effect on the enemy, and they grew bolt. One tossed aside their blaster and drew a melee weapon, charging the downed crusader.

Kerowyn stepped forward, moving ahead of Arianna and flourishing her weapon with a smile. The vibroblade sliced through the air in an attempt to cleave through he shoulder, and the Vahla intercepted it with the quillions of her blade, pushing it aside. But, much to her surprise, the man reversed his grip and slashed across her helm, knocking it clear off her face and leaving a gash on her cheek. Cocking her head slightly, she turned back to the man, her eyes alight with fury.

"RRRRRRAAAGH!" The first blow came down like a hammer-stroke, the mercenary just barely bringing his blade up in time to parry the mighty blow. Sure, Kerowyn was small, but she'd practiced with Shien enough to know how the saber form worked. Putting all her weight into it, she struck again. And again. And again. Until finally the man caved, his sword flying across the room with the hand still attached, screaming in agony. Kero brought the blade down with one simple twist of her wrist, ending the cacophony of pain and gore.

Arianna was definitely not having a good day, it seemed that the constant missions and executive orders had worn their tole on the young sorceress. However, she was determined to display her worth and prove why Darth Vrael had promoted her to this rank so quickly. The dark sided channeled within the Crusader’s cloaked form, sweeping through the cavern with his hollow unholiness and washing a wail of tortured souls that echoed deeply into the rocky conclaves. Lights in the area flickered and dimmed, as Arianna’s green eyes shifted to their golden counterparts. Two guards were planning to ambush Kerowyn with their blasters as the acolyte was slaying one of their comrades; Arianna would have none of it.

She released a glass shattering scream, carried through the force like a wicked call of the banshee. Soldiers ears began ringing inside their helmets as they were temporarily stunned. THe crusader followed with a display of utter and cruel dark side mastery. Green electricity cackled around her fingertips before she released a cone of force lightning on the first soldier and then a second on the other. Using both of her hands now as the lightsaber was tossed to the side, she punished the men with the constant barrage of current until nothing more than charred flesh remained.

Sadistic eyes shifted attention on the last soldier, her palm opening as the saber flew back into her grasp and she began her advance upon him.

Guard count: 1 / 13.

Maria charged the enemy and shot him in the head knocking him out. She then put away her rifle and she traveled forward. As she walked she had to step around the dozen or so mercenary corpses and this made her think “Why are they clustered together in such a way instead of patrolling this base in smaller groups.” She dusted off a console and said “I guess they don’t clean much anymore...or to being with”

She has pushed farther ahead than any of them, the venom of being attacked almost masked her with a sinister and somewhat terrifying aura that permeated from the death she had just dealt. The man's body was a piece of burning flesh gashed in multiple locations, causing his allies to recoil in disgust. It didn't phase them however, it seemed they where used to the horrors of war.

Kerowyn watched as Arianna took care of the opponent's that moved to flank her. Kero had noticed, of course, and was preparing to wheel and deliver her wrath in that direction. But apparently, she didn't have to, as a Force Scream tore through the chamber and veritably melted the brain of it's intended target. Now she was free to engage the idiots in front of her, who began careening blaster bolts down towards her position. She brought her saber up in front of her, walking forward calmly towards the streaks of light. Though she attempted to reflect the bolts, they instead blasted into the side of the walls.

She was furious. Their attacks would wear her down before long, so she reached out with a dark tendril towards the neck of the leading mercenary. The choke grasped him suddenly and lifted him off his feet, keeping them dangling there for a moment, before loosening the grip slightly and pulling the body towards her to use as a shield. The man's body rocked violently as the blaster bolts tore into him, leaving nothing but a peppered husk in return, Kerowyn threw it forward with terrifying speed.

It spun through the air with a sickening fume and hurteled towards the remaining mercenaries. They began to scramble to then side, some even going as far as to dive out of the way or reverse into the cavern further. Four, however, managed to stay directly in it's path and where toppled over by the body. It wasn't going to be a debilitation for very long, but perhaps her allies could capitalize on the attack by finishing the four in one fell swoop. Otherwise, Kero would stand and stay ready for any more blaster bolts and deflect them harmlessly away

Arianna observed as Kerowyn made quick work of what was remaining of the opposition soldiers in the cavern, the other soldiers scattering away through the darkness of the tunnels. A faint smile came to her face as the acolyte had proven herself capable in these difficult circumstances. Nodding to both her and Maria the Crusader de-activated her lightsaber and allowed the flowing dark cloaks to cover her armored figure. Vile force energies still wrapped around her body, the sorceress moved silently through the cascading shadows until her presence was no longer detectable.

"Both of you did well, I will notify the Dark Council of your performances. Rest well, the Empire will call upon your services soon enough.."
