Clan Rau.

They had a storied history, especially when it came to their dealings with other Mandalorian Clans. Though they had always been a rival of Clan Solus, they had never been outright hostile. That gave Daniel hope for what he was here to do.

Clan Solus was growing. They had done many great things recently and they were gathering numbers; Daniel had come to bring Clan Rau into the fold. He knew it was going to be a challenge. The Rau were known to be independent and strong; many lived with their name and many were proud. They would be invaluable.

He had landed outside their territory, landing unbidden in their borders would be an unforgivable offense. He had left his ship and made the rest of the journey on foot. He wore his full armor, the red and black marking him as a Rally Master. Even here, many knew him and he was offered a few greetings from people working in fields on the outlying farms. He returned their greetings with a wave and continued on, focused on what was ahead.

Slowly he made his way to the center of the settlement where a small crowd had gathered. Even on Mandalore it was unusual for a high ranking member of another clan to appear without warning, though Daniel knew he had been spotted the moment the ship landed. Eventually he came to the center of the small town, the crowd had grown bigger now.

"Who speaks for Clan Rau?" He asked the curious people.

Scouting out the Rau clan was not exactly a glamorous job but the duty had to be done. A handful of Ordo men and women were out here in the hills watching. Watching for anything odd that might come up or for any opportunities to come their way. A ship landed just outside of Rau territory meaning it was a diplomatic visit of sorts. These scouts recognized who it had to be and saw this as a great opportunity. Four Mandalorian Warriors of Clan Ordo against one of the Solus menaces would be easy pickings. Gan'a Ordo was leading the scouting party alongside Hans, Bert'ta, and Jered. All wore the medium beskar'gam classically seen among their people, specially outfitted with bola launchers for wrapping up targets to take back for interrogations. Each also held a Shriek-Hawk Rifle and kept two Strill pistols at their hips. All four kept a vibrosword strapped to their backs but only the leader, Gan'a, carried a pair of concussion grenades inside her belt pockets.

"Aru'e. Nari." The leader said quietly yet firmly to her party as a signal to move in closer.

The Ordo Clan knew that a ranking officer meeting with a potentially hostile clan could go either way. If the Rally Master and some Rau were to die in a fight it would not help relations between the clans. On the contrary though if they became friends that meant Ordo would have a unified enemy front on the path to commanding Mandalore. That was something the scouts would do their best to ruin. Victory or glory in death. There was no alternative for a true Mandalorian warrior.

All four Mandalorians would keep their distance for now. They would spread out slightly as to not be a single pack, but be within a few meters of each other still. For the moment they would watch from the shadows as the loud Solus Rally Master demanded to speak with someone from Clan Rau. Now there could be two potential targets. Either one providing quite the feud towards the other if they were to perish here. Gan'a smiled inside her helmet as she waited for the representative to mark himself.

Tyrn Rau had been preparing to hunt when word of the Solus Rally Master's travel through Rau territory had reached his village. Already having donned his beskar'gam, complete with a shiny new jetpack, Tyrn was ready for battle. Hefting his A-10 longblaster that he had taken from a Trandoshan in the jungles of Kashyyyk, Tyrn had been eager to regain some of the honor he felt he had lost during that expedition, and had been the first man to volunteer to hunt down the hated Ordo that had been spotted skulking about Rau territory. The rest of his gear was worn in their usual spots and he bore a combat load out of ammunition for his weapons.

A small crowd had gathered as the Rally Master made his address. Tyrn stepped forwards, nodding to the man. "Hail Rally Master. No one here bears the privilege to speak for the Clan, but should you join me in my hunt and we return successful, I will vouch for your honor to the 'Alor." The Rally Master could not see it, but Tyrn was smiling under his helmet. His body language was relaxed, rifle resting casually on his shoulder. Clan Rau had always possessed a friendly rivalry with Clan Solus, and it wasn't too uncommon for Solus members to marry into Clan Rau, as many Mandalorians formed bonds of love through rivalry and competition. Tyrn himself had ties to the badger clan, his own mother having once hailed from Solus herself. "Tell me Solus, how fares my cousin Raz? It has been many seasons since i last saw her." He had of course heard rumors of his cousin's success, but there was no word better than that of a fellow clansman. @Lucid

That was right! Hadn't he heard somewhere that Raz was related to the Rau? He couldn't remember and, not for the first time, kicked himself mentally for being so inattentive sometimes. He could hear the big man's smile in his voice, though he couldn't see it and returned it from under his own helmet. He wondered what in the world he could say about Raz.

"A hunt it is then!" That sounded agreeable to Daniel, though he suspected the hunt was not for animals...not if the man was dressed in full armor. "Raz is well! Firey and unpredictable as ever...whacking people over the heads with datapads and everything." He unconsciously reached up and rubbed his head--or helmet--where she had clonked him. He realized what he was doing and stopped immediately, scuffing a boot in the ground in embarrassment. He was supposed to be representing the strength of Clan Solus here but instead he was being his usual self.

He cleared his throat and walked up to the man, hand outstretched. "I'm Daniel Solus," he said in greeting. "And Raz is doing well. Last I worked with her, we were at the Kuat Drive Yards and invaluable there. They won't be turning out ships any time soon from Kuat, let's just say." It was true, the attack on the Drive Yards had paralyzed Kuat for the time being. Raz had been invaluable there.

He shrugged at the other man as if to say they were all doing as well as could be expected and turned the conversation to matters at hand. "Let's hear about this hunt and be off. Looks like I caught you at just the right moment!"

The Rally Master was friendly, acting with little need of boast or pride. Perhaps a man who's confidence in battle needed no reinforcement off the field. Accepting the man's handshake, he clasped his own hand around Daniel's wrist. "Tyrn Rau," Introducing himself in turn while listening intently to the man's words, eyes visor to visor. He held, as many Mandalorians did, mixed feelings about the business on Kuat. A grievous blow to the Sith Empire's war making capabilities certainly, but at what cost. While the Empire held the Mandalorian's wrath, such acts of terrorism were effective but distasteful and many would prefer to keep their war-making as war.

"Indeed you have great timing! A hated enemy has been spotted on our lands, lands that their ancestors once tried to salt, burn, and poison. Ordo." The last word spoken with such hatred that one would think that Tyrn had been personally wronged by the rival clan. It was common knowledge that Clan's Rau and Ordo held a hatred for each-other that was many centuries old, dating back to before the time of the Sith Mand'alor Leviticus. Since that ancient time the two clans had existed in a state of fued, constantly sniping and raiding at eachother, spilling blood for blood, perpetuating a cycle of violence. "Help me cleanse the land of their filth and i will take you to the 'alor myself." @Lucid

The vehemence in Tyrn's voice shocked Daniel, someone not given to particularly strong feelings of hate towards anyone. However, he could understand it and appreciate the long history behind the systemic hatred. If that is what Clan Rau needed of Clan Solus, to fight off a group of Ordo here to prey on their people then Daniel would be pleased to assist. "That sounds just fine for me," Daniel said cheerily. "Do your people have any indication of where they might be?"

A man in the assembled crowd of Rau stepped forward and informed Daniel that they had been spotted in the bush on the north-west side of the settlement. With a nod of thanks, Daniel looked to his new companion and they set off, Tyrn leading the way.

As they walked, Daniel checked his weapons. He made sure they were all in the proper place on his armor and that his jetpack was reading ready and online. He loosened his highly illegal disruptor pistol in its holster so that it could be drawn at any time. His rifle was across his back and vibrosword at his side. He felt foolish but it never hurt to be prepared.

Daniel was all cheer and sunshine even in the face of inevitable danger. Tyrn couldn't help but envy his superiors confidence, his own shaken by his experiences in the dark jungles of Kashyyyk where Hod Ha'ran had cursed him to ill luck. He had prayed and sacrificed to Kad Ha'rangir, asking to be cleansed of The Trickster's curse.

Now was the time to make war on his enemies in Kad Ha'rangir's name and be cleansed. Or die trying.

"Hold up here." He motioned for Daniel to wait as they reached a small copse of trees standing midway between the small village and the forest wall marked true wilderness. Sighting down his long blaster, Tyrn increased the magnification and scanned the forest. While the farmland behind them was neatly plowed and ordered, the approach to the forest was untamed. Small boulders, stumps and unevenly sloped ground created a myriad of cover in which their enemies could be hiding. Not to mention the forest itself with its thick trees and underbrush. @Cazar

Gan'a Ordo

The leader of the Ordo scouting party watched as the pair of enemy contacts approached the forest. It seemed they at least knew which general direction to go but the advantage was to those in the shadows. She guesstimated she was likely a good 50 meters from the pair still, but that was well within rifle range. For the moment they had isolation and numbers advantage. The Ordo woman also knew that a high ranking Mandalorian was no pushover. This would be a fight even with uneven numbers, but it did help.

"Taylir..," she whispered into the helmet comms before hissing out her command. "Tracyn!"

As she said the command, Gan'a fired twice quickly from her own rifle. It had been aimed for the Rally Master of Solus at center mass, the groin. She figured these men had all their self worth down there so why not shoot for it. The first shot would be aimed dead on for the clan jewels while the second would be affected by recoil and be more at waist level. The element of moderate surprise would hopefully still be with them. After firing her body would retreat back behind the tree trunk she had used for cover.

Hans Ordo

Hans was following alongside his sister, Gan'a, for this mission. She was put in charge instead of him which did irk him a bit. He would follow orders for now but it was a loose discipline if it came to combat and he disagreed with her. Nonetheless when the order came to fire, he respected that strategy and opened fire on the Rau soldier. Two shots aimed for the center of the chest one after another. It was a simple enough tactic but would hopefully do its job. He kept fairly close to his sister, about 10 meters to the northeast (behind and to her left). He found a tree trunk to stand behind for cover as well.

"Oya, vod." Hans spit into the comlink a bit sarcastically as he did so.

Bert'ta Ordo

Another young woman in the group, a distance cousin to the leader and her brother. She was obedient to a fault and a good soldier. Her love for her people after all the destruction from the Sith overrules her love for her clan though. A Mandalorian first, an Ordo second. Whenever possible she wanted to take culprits alive. In her mind it was a waste of Mandalorian life to kill over every dispute when a shameful defeat and public mockery could do so much more. When the order came to fire, she zealously attacked with three shots spread to the right shoulder down to the right hip of the Rally Master in hopes of forcing him along a path away from his partner. She was furthest from Gan'a, about 20 meters to the west. She chose nice cover behind a rock among bushes.

"Oya!" She shouted as she carried out the attack.

Jered Banoor

Jered Banoor was a suitor hoping to win favor with Gan'a. He had been unsuccessful in his attempts due to his lack of prestige in the battlefield. The proud, love-struck Mandalorian decided to risk it all by fighting at her side in a scouting party. He was more likely to die for her than he was to obey an order to do otherwise. When she said fire, he obeyed without question. Two shots leaped from his rifle towards the Rau clan member alongside the Rallymaster. Both were aimed high for the neck and head, in that order. He wanted to impress Gan'a with a crack shot even if it meant a higher risk of failure. He was closest to Gan'a, only 5 meters to her east. He opted out of solid cover to be closer to her. He is behind a sparse bush.

"Oya!" He also shouted with enthusiasm as the fighting began.

Tyrn scanned the forest through the scope of his rifle, not really expecting to see anything but alert just the same. He almost did a double take as he spotted a white and green painted shoulder pauldron peeking through a scrub brush. Ordo

"Drop!" He shouted as he centered his crosshairs where he imagined a chest would be behind the brush and pulled the trigger before taking his own advice. Letting his feet out from under him, Tyrn dropped forwards and to left, landing roughly on ground as blaster bolts filled the air above him. Crawling into the thicket, Tyrn tried to recall where he had seen the blaster bolts come from before he had hit the dirt.

"Three, maybe four rifles. Scattered through the woods." He wasnt quite sure, but judging by the number of blaster bolts in the initial volley there couldn't be more than five. He would defer to the Rally Master as the leader of this hunt as to what course of action they would take.

Dan hit the ground without question, firing at a brief flash of movement--what he thought was center mass--as he went down. Bolts whizzed over him; some passing right through where his pelvis and head had been a second earlier. He rolled left as well, following Tyrn into the brush. They were obscured behind a thick patch of brush and brambles. Daniel racked his brain to think of where the shots had come from.

Three, maybe four directions; he had seen a flash of armor dive behind a bit of scrub as he rolled. It was in front of them, maybe 10 degrees off the center line. Daniel peered through the brambles and did indeed see an armored figure trying to hide itself in a scraggly shrub. It wasn't much cover and the target was still for the moment.

"I think two in front of us, one dead ahead, one to the right off center a few degrees in the scrub. Two more at the sides, I couldn't tell range. On my trigger, we go behind that cluster of rocks just ahead."He pointed quickly one of the many clusters of rocks 5 meters in front and to the left that littered the area around them. It would provide decent cover for them for the time being. They needed to get a bearing on what they were up against. Daniel didn't waste any more time; he brought his rifle up and fired three shots at the figure in the bushes. All three were clustered at the center of the crouched form.

No sooner had he squeezed off his shots, Daniel plowed through the brush and dove behind the rock cluster he had indicated. Crouched behind them, he was hidden from view; the gentle slope of the ground towards the forest giving him sight towards the trees.

Gan'a Ordo

Gan'a cringed internally as she saw return fire so quickly. She knew it was probably Jered's fault for being so clingy. They also seemed to be aiming for him. She partially hoped the guy got killed so she'd stop having to deal with him. Though that would mean one less warrior for this ambush. It was frustrating to deal with him most days. She couldn't focus on him too much though as it seemed her target hit the dirt and managed to avoid her early shots. He then seemed to fire at Jered, which was her opening.

"Utreekov..," she muttered about Jered while firing at Daniel again, this time leading him as he busted through the bushes with a couple shots hoping to catch him in transit.

She kept her rifle trained down range to watch for any additional movement. The scout leader would be ready to keep them suppressed if needed. For now she would see if anyone had a shot before ordering any flanking movement. Plus she was curious if Jered had survived his foolish cover choice.

Hans Ordo

Hans was disappointed that his shots went over the Rau soldier's head. He had been hoping to take out the less famous target quickly so they could focus on the infamous rally master. The soldier began crawling for cover where he would quickly lose sight so Hans had to act quickly. His rifle shrieked once more as he fired a single shot to try to hit the man before he could finish his crawl to the thicket. It would not be super deadly though as all he could see by the time he fired was the man's legs. If he managed a hit it would be something though.

The Ordo man said nothing as he retreated back to his cover once more and waited. From his position there were no good shots to take. It was better to keep cover for now. No use making dumb risks quite yet. If Gan'a took too long to give an order though he might decide to take some action. She was never the best leader in his eyes.

Bert'ta Ordo

Bert'ta was a good ways off to once side, enough that she was more of a flanking shot. When the rally master dove out of the way, he did so in the direction she had hoped. Guiding him to his left by aiming at his right worked perfectly. Now the Rally Master was moving closer to her through cover she had determined she could peek over while the others could not. She waited for the pair to reach cover at the bushes before firing another pair of shots directly at the chest of the Rally Master. This would be right as he began firing at Jered. The shots would arrive roughly as he started moving based on the time it took for them to arrive and for him to fire three shots.

"Ib'tuur jatne tuur ash'ad kyr'amur."
She whispered to herself as she fired.

Jered Banoor

The suitor in his grand efforts to impress Gan'a had chosen some poor cover. He realized much too late that he was easily spotted and he had nothing to use to block the shots. Jered stood as he saw the shots coming and would try to run to the nearest tree, but that was too little too late. While standing managed to make the first two shots go between his legs, the other two shots connected with his thighs and made his run quite short. He fell with a grunt of pain onto his face. The unarmored thighs were done for and he knew his legs would be a total loss if he did not get help soon.

His pride kept him from crying or demanding help. He simply let himself look dead in the dirt for his shame. Jered would likely lose consciousness from the shock soon anyways. If he managed to wake up at all and continue to fight, it wouldn't be right away. That depended on how the rest of this went and if he was shot again or not.

As Daniel began to half crouch, half run towards the rocks, shots rang out from the side about 60 meters away. The first shot glanced and deflected off the shoulder of his armor. He didn't wait to see if any more would follow, he simply dropped, landing flat on his face in the tall grass. Bolts from two directions flashed over his body, now concealed in the tall grass. His right arm was numb from the glancing blaster shot, tingly and painful but still usable.

He winced in pain as he used his arms to pull himself along the ground towards the rocks. Hopefully Tyrn would have the good sense to lay down some cover fire. It took him only a moment to pull himself behind the rocks. Leaning with his back up against them, rolling his shoulder as he tried to restore some feeling to his arm he looked to Tyrn. They were covered from the front and sides behind the rocks, as long as they stayed low.

"Wait and see if they come to us or do you want to press?"

Luckily for Turn his squirming, crawling form did not make a good target as he army crawled into the thicket, a blaster bolt narrowly missing his leg and it exploded against the ground next to it. He could feel the heat wash against his thigh as the bolt hit were it had been just moments before in his crawl.

Dragging himself into the thicket and behind a tree, he listened as Daniel laid laid out his plan. "Negative, you run, I'll cover you." giving the Rally Master a nod.

On Daniel's shot, Tyrn swung his rifle out from behind the tree and sited down the scope, first starting at the bushes where he had last shot, noting a pair of legs splayed from them, and then sweeping away from there to catch site of a blaster rifle siteing downrange from behind a tree that provided decent cover. Rapidly triggering a shot, aimed roughly at the arm holding it, Tyrn cursed as more blaster fire rang out at the Rally Master from their flank.

Swinging his rifle around to lead back to the last blaster shot, his crosshairs centered on a helmeted head aiming down a rifle at them. Without hesitation he once more pulled the trigger, sending a blaster bolt zinging out after the Ordo woman.

Ducking back behind his cover, Tyrn was glad to see that Daniel had made it to the cluster of rocks, though not unharmed if the carbon scoring on his armor was any indication. "This is a good position. Perhaps we can draw them out." His eyes scanning the path ways from their current locations in the thicket and rock cluster to the forest. Plenty of natural cover but also plenty of ground to cover. "I think one if their number is down, spotted a pair of Ordo legs laying down in the bushes."

Gan'a Ordo

Gun down range, Gan'a was ready when she saw the Rau soldier pop up and start scoping. About the same moment he fired at her, she also fired and ducked into cover right away, hardly avoiding the shot to the arm as it slammed into the dirt behind her instead. Her left hand dropped to her belt as she heard more shots headed for her party. There was sparse cover and the enemies would either need to keep it or come out to the open. She would force their hand with the concussion grenade. From behind the tree and out of sight she primed it for a second before popping out to give it a hard toss right for the rocks where the two enemies would be. It would take about three seconds to arrive and might explode just before landing based on her calculations. Once it left her hand she would duck back behind the tree, only being exposed for about a second which was shorter than the time it took a blaster bolt to travel that distance.

"Goore dayne," she whispered into the comlink channel as a warning.

Hans Ordo

The hot-headed brother cursed as he heard shots coming from the rocks. That meant they'd be breaking their cover to shoot, but it meant someone had left themselves open. Typical Gan'a leadership to leave cracks in cover. Hans pulled out from cover slightly as the Rau soldier fired at Bert'ta and unleashed his own pair of shots that would sadly miss when he ducked back to cover. It at least caused some noise and might scare them into keeping cover. When he heard the note about a grenade he cursed his sister again before shielding himself in cover, waiting for the boom to mark his opening. After that he would do what he felt was best.

Bert'ta Ordo

Bert'ta did not go unanswered with her attacks. She managed to push at them a bit with her flanking shots but one returned fire as she finished. At her distance of about 60 meters it was easy to see coming and slam her body behind the tree. She was about to pop out and return fire when she heard their leader mention the grenade. There was only one type of grenade she had been carrying so that meant cover her eyes behind the tree. A big boom was coming and it would be their opening to strike. She would remain behind the tree until she heard the concussion grenade go off.

Daniel popped up over their cover facing forward immediately after the bolts flashed over and around their cover. He was up in time to see one (Gan'a) step out from behind a tree to hurl something. He squeezed off a two shots clean at the grenade thrower's chest before the grenade landed short of her target by about 10 meters. It exploded with a bang and flash, thankfully out of range for Daniel to be dazed by the explosion. The light was another matter though.

Immediately he fell back down behind their set of rocks, blinking furiously behind his helmet to clear his eyes. Stars danced in front of his vision fading slowly. "Concussion grenade," he said tersely, still blinking. "Got a couple good shots off at the one who threw it though. We have to get them to move or we'll be here all day."

Miffed, Daniel stayed in cover waiting for the sparks in his vision to clear before doing something more. Hopefully Tyrn would be able to nail one as they moved. With all of them behind cover to avoid the grenade he had a chance to set up and get one.

He had managed to get a few shots off, but so had the enemy. Luckily, when switching targets to the flanker, his movement had put his body squarely back behind the tree, at least as far as his first target was concerned, and the shots zinged past the tree, as well as another pair of shots coming from another location. His own shots missed as well, and he could see his second target duck back behind the rock, but they did their job in forcing the Ordo scouts to duck back behind cover, giving Daniel enough time to get to cover safely.

Peaking out around the corner of the tree just in time to see his first target hurl something through the air, he quickly ducked back behind the tree. A dazzling flash filled the area near the rocks but Tyrn was far enough away to be unaffected by the concussion grenade. Daniel's voice came over the comlink, and it gave Tyrn an idea. "They might be tempted to rush us while they think you're stunned. You stay put and I'll be ready to pick them off if they do." He still had enough juice for seven shots in his longblaster, more than enough for what he planned to do before he had to switch out the powerpack.

Gan'a Ordo

Tossing the grenade had been simple enough even if it didn't quite get far enough. Gan'a had already been ducking to cover by the time the Solus Rally Master fired at her. Those shots went off behind her into the dirt some ways back. At this distance they were just playing an endless game. A game of attrition that no true warrior would allow. The scout leader used the opening of the explosion to run out from the tree on the opposite side from where she had been shot at, moving down towards her foes to the next tree of cover about 10 meters closer. No one had fired anymore shots and she ran right when the explosion sounded. It would be hard to hit her unless they snapped right to her like some sort of Sith.

"Move to closer cover, take cover shots." She muttered in Mando'a over the comms as she moved.

Hans Ordo

The grenade blew and Hans did not need to listen to his sister now. He saw her leave her cover so he simply started running to the southeast to find new cover. He'd be aiming for about 25 meters ahead, or about 30 meters from the enemies. As he ran his rifle would fire two shots towards the enemy he knew was behind a tree to discourage him from taking pot shots, as he would likely be the closest one. One shot would go to each side of the tree as to make sure neither side was safe to pop out from while he ran. After the shots he would activate his jump boots to quickly cover the last few meters and slide behind a boulder on his stomach.

Bert'ta Ordo

Scout leader wanted them to get closer cover and Bert'ta especially needed it being 65 meters from Daniel still. She kept her rifle trained on his rough position as she sprinted from cover heading towards the next cover point. A single shot is all she would give to discourage them. It would be aimed roughly where she saw Dan duck into the rocks. At that distance it would probably arrive 3 seconds after the explosion. Right after firing she activated the jump boots to push herself faster and further with a leap forwards. Overall she would likely hit the tree after landing then at 40 meters from Dan or 47 meters from Tyrn.

The blinking helped, the stars in front of his eyes were rapidly fading and, as Tyrn commed to tell him to stay in cover, Daniel did just that. He waited a few more moments, a fragmentation grenade ready in his hand. Bolts whizzed over his head and he saw a couple flash wide around the tree where Tyrn was hiding. He raised his head, the T of his visor just showing above the rocks, immediately after. He caught a flash of movement ducking behind a large boulder (Hans).

He chucked the grenade as hard as he could. At this distance he was reasonably sure of his aim and the grenade would land behind the boulder, timed to explode as it landed. He ducked back behind his rocks, not waiting to see if his grenade was true.

Tyrn did not have to wait long, the Ordo scouts all began to charge at once. Blaster bolts whizzed past the tree, which would have discouraged Tyrn from popping out to take shots at the charging Ordo's. If he had needed to. Fortunately for him, his target was running down the rise from the forest and in plain sight for him past the stone cluster that Daniel had taken cover in. Aiming carefully, Tyrn fired.

His first shot would be fired moments before her jump, aimed for her center of mass. Readjusting his aim as she jumped, he did a split second calculation and fired once more, aiming to catch her before she found cover behind the tree. If his calculations were correct she would be catching a blaster bolt to the chest mid jump before flying into the tree limply as the blaster bolt seared through her chest plate.

Gan'a Ordo

Nothing was going to plan. Gan'a had thrown short and caused pain to her party who were left open to counter attacks. She had made it to closer cover but at great cost. Bert'ta looked hurt, Hans looked hurt, and she was not in a much better position to help them. There were no more orders she could think to give them. It was failure of leadership and she knew it. Now they would fight until the end and hope for the best. Gan'a was a warrior and would not go down before giving hell. An explosion made her unsure if Hans was even alive, but she had to take action nonetheless.

Orders were not given as she primed a concussion grenade again. She let her rifle fall to the ground behind the rock as she did so. It would not be needed anymore now that ranges were closing. The scout leader activated her jump boots and launched herself forward into the air as best she could. Once the boots turned on she slung a pistol from her waist and fired two shots downwards towards the Solus man. Her jump let her see over his cover for a brief moment. Once she fired, she tossed the grenade towards the Rau man and closed her eyes, knowing she might die mid air while giving her people a chance. If she did crash safely into the ground below she'd be about 30 meters from Dan and about 10 meters west of Hans.

Hans Ordo

Hans' cover was blown, quite literally, when he peeked up from the rock only to see a grenade coming in hot. The only thing he could do with his time remaining was try to get around the boulder as quickly as possible. He scrambled and half climbed over the thing as the grenade exploded on the side of the cover he had just been using. While he avoided death from a direct hit, he didn't get away with it completely. The rock split apart and shards hit the Ordo brother hard. Between the explosion partially affecting him and the rock splintering around him, he would feel some pain.

The Mandalorian scout went prone from the explosion and was displayed for all to see with no cover now. A few minor cuts and some dents in his armor showed he took damage but overall was lucky. It took him a moment, but his next focus was on making sure he didn't die from this new position. His rifle pointed to his nearby foes' positions back and forth frantically waiting for one of them to appear again. He wouldn't go down quietly even if he was bruised, battered, and exposed.

Bert'ta Ordo

The risk was calculated and she trusted her scout leader. Bert'ta saw the attack heading her way and prepared herself as best she could to mitigate it. A first shot missed due to her jump and would burn the grass behind where she had just been. There was not really time to fully dodge the second shot but she could change her jump a little. It was clear the shot was coming hot to hit her mid jump so she cut it short by pushing her feet into the air, causing the boots last little oomph to send her towards the ground early. This did three things for the Ordo woman. First, it meant the heartburn intended would be avoided. Second, it meant her feet were where her chest would have been so her left foot ate a blaster bolt. Lastly, it made the landing a lot harder. She landed with a skid in the dirt and a growl from the pain in her foot. She rolled to one side to get behind the tree as soon as she got a hold of herself.

For now she would try to keep behind cover while mentally recovering from the burning through her armored foot. The scouting party was getting beat up a bit and she knew it. They had to clinch an advantage soon or they'd all die here. Bert'ta waited to hear from her leader, hoping that the time behind the tree would help her regain some focus so she could follow orders properly.
