Description:

These dual Lightsaber pistols act as anyone might expect. When the saber function is off, it functions as a blaster, and vice versa, but what sets them apart from other sabers is how it accomplishes said feet. The barrel and emitter are one in the same, as the emitter is built into the grip of the blaster. When in blaster mode, to engage into saber mode, as well as engage it's blade, one only needs to click the handle upwards, aligning the emitter, and drawing the sabers blade. To toggle the blade while still in saber mode, pull the trigger once. To switch back into blaster mode, click the grip back into it's original position, un-aligning the emitter, and re-aligning the blasters chambers. Each power pack contains both energy, and gas so as to make standard blaster bolts. It's also stun bolt capable. The power packs are long packs that clip into the top of the barrel, keeping the design streamlined, light, and effective to reload.


Intent: To build Seth a specially designed pair of Sabers that match his skills, and preferences, as well as provide his first pair of light sabers, as well as pay tribute to the sacrifices of his former teacher.

Cool blaster, reminds me of OT Star Wars meets Firefly. That said, you need to follow the preset template for weapon submissions.

Upon review, I'm not certain the previously approved lightsaber pistol doesn't already accomplish what you've proposed here. How this different?

For one, this pistol fires blaster bolts for it's main use rather than majority, and mainly stun rounds for sake of ammo conservation, though I was thinking of dropping the stun feature altogether. It's also meant to make a pistol unique to the character, as well as transition from the saber to pistol quicker, and smoother.

I guess I'm going for better functionality, and interesting possible options for this weapon in combat. Like minor force nudges from the user to click the pistol into saber mode, and vice versa.

That still fits under the capacity of the lightsaber pistol, just that yours has a unique customization to it. Functionally speaking, they're still identical, for all intents and purposes. Just like how lightsabers can have varied features, other tech can too, so long as the core functions remain more or less identical.

You're most certainly free to use the tech you have here, but it really doesn't qualify as being distinct enough to warrant being a separate technology. Hence, gonna move it over to the archives
