The transmission started, revealing Senator Maryenne Vennen from Gatalenta. She was seated behind a table, a serious expression on her face. Since the collapse of the Republic, she and her homeworld had stayed away from Galactic affairs, but the recent events were too great for her and the other Gatalentans to ignore.
“People of the Galaxy, I come before you as the elected representative of the people of Gatalenta. Since the shameful end of the Republic, we have stayed neutral to Galactic affairs, seeking to maintain the peace and serenity that our planet is famous for.” she made a pause, staring at the camera with determination. “However, the recent speech made by Senator Trina Kalist of Kuat (@Sreeya) spurred us to act.”
“We can no longer ignore the tragedies that are affecting civilians across the Galaxy. The attacks of Darth Raze to Coruscant and other planets are unforgivable. In the name of the Gatalentan people, I announce that our forces are being mobilized and will join those of Kuat to help the efforts in aiding the civilians of the Core against these abominations.” she strengthened the grip at the arms of her chair. “Not only that, I also declare today that Gatalenta is offering a formal alliance with our neighbor, Kuat. With it, we seek to defend the Core against future attacks of Raze. I also urge other planets to join forces with us. We must become bulwarks against the wave of destruction that seeks to destroy us all.”
“Under the guidance of the Council of Mothers and in the name of all the Gatalentan, I also condemn the desire of the Empire in making war against the Jedi, while calamity ravages the Galaxy. My people have supported the Jedi since the time of the Old Republic and we aren’t going to forfeit it now. My grandmother…” she trailed off, remembering the deceased Annelyn Lerytel. It was brief and she soon continued. “My grandmother believed in it, and she was assassinated because of her beliefs. We are not afraid! We are going to honor the Jedi, our last defense against Raze!”

Their aid to refugees is meaningless, a simple attempt to make a good image for the Emperor, while tragedy hits us. While the Jedi are fighting these abominations, the Empire is expanding over them. If the Emperor wanted to help, he would stop this conflict and allow the Order to do their work.” she took a deep breath, before continuing. “We stand with the Jedi and their efforts in Coruscant. We stand with Kuat and their desire to help the Core. Gatalenta will act and no longer remain silent!”
