Really simple, all the U.S. has to do is build new refinerys build new refinery's gas drops down to probably under $2... All the current refinery's are 30+ years old. Problem with just building a new one is that the government has far too many restrictions on whats needed/denied. Take too long for the refinery to be okayed so no one bothers with it, not to mention the price to build one. (God bless the mighty dollar.) Sad thing is people blame the "oil companys" when their ships wait in docks for their fossil fuels to be refined. Yay for $3.50 for a gallon.

...Er....or the real reason is 90% of america's oil comes from one of the most unstable places on earth.

The Isreali's, lebanese, Americans, British and Arabs have all started picking fights with eachother again.

P.S I moved it here cause my debate sense is tingleing.

Scurge, you know which news items will end up causing debate. In the future, please request that they be debates rather than us having to move threads here all the time. This is the second one of your thread's we've moved here today.

What I don't get is how come when we organize a Protest or Boycott of Gas for ONE DAY, business is even higher than the day before and the gas is ten cents higher? Hell, what irritates me is that the Mobil on one side of the street will have Gas at 3.19 and the Sunoco right across the street will cost 3.09, yet the Mobil is more busy!

I think everyone should'nt buy gas for two days in a row each month. So those two days hit em each month. They eventully keep going down.

It's a big problem here, as of now it's at 90 cents a litre. However, in Vancouver it's something like $1.30.

If you're realy desperate, move to Argentina, they produce all their own petrol. I believe it's 10 cents a litre.

Well, us British have the most problems because our government is shit. We have sold all of our own fuel sources to the Dutch, for a good price, and then importing fuel from the middle east which is not only costing us millions to buy but its costing us even more to ship. The same thing is happening with our schools... now, the gov has kept this quiet and not many people know about it but our primary schools have been bought by the Japanese company, Kajima, who then rent it back to us and the French own all of our Hospitals. So we rent OUR school buildings from the Japanese and that will eventually cost us millions to rent back the buildings so our children can have an education. This is why Tony Blair has been a failure as Prime Minister.
