The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last is to say thank you.

Galak has a strong sense of humor, which defines his entire personality and command style. He is witty and confident, and inspires his crew to follow him into the belly of the beast. Ward thinks best under the gun, and his ingenutive and innovative way of thinking have helped him in his naval career. Galak likes to plan unorthodox styles of fighting and execute them to success, not perfection. He knows what the realism of fighting is, and does not butter up service to the military to be anything better than dedication and death.

Biography:
Galak Ward was born on Corellia. His father had been a successful CorSec officer, who ended up raising Galak after his mother died during Galak's childbirth. He already had two siblings, and their single father's time was roughly divided between the task of enforcing the law and raising his children. Galak was always a fighter growing up, enjoying sports and disliking the structure of school. None the less he proved himself to be an innonvative thinker, and once of age after graduating high school he enlisted in the Republic Navy to get off of Corellia and literally reach the stars.

Galak was processed through Navy basic training, where he took a specialization in the tactical department. He was passed on to the Officer Academy, where he studied for four years. While on Coruscant in his third year of study he met a young woman serving as a waitress at a back end cantina that Galak had frequented. The two dated for a year and were married, and the two stuck together as Galak completed the Academy. He was commissioned as an Ensign within the Navy, where he served as a department deputy on board a small cruiser. Galak rose through the junior ranks of the Navy quickly, making his way to Lieutenant where he served in his first command capacity as the executive officer of the Ultimatum, a destroyer class vessel.

Galak made a reputation for himself as a lenient but dedicated commander, who stressed success over perfection. His competency was noticed, and he was promoted to Lieutenant Commander in his same role. By this time, at the age of 24 his wife gave birth to their only son, Archenon. Galak hated being away from his family for extended periods of time, but chose to remain in the Navy as he felt it was his calling.

Galak's dedication to the cause was rewarded, as two years later he was promoted to Commander and took command of his first vessel, the Courageous, a pocket cruiser. Galak patrolled pirate infested space, where he cut his teeth on numerous encounters with outlaws and the like. Galak proved his worth as a line commander, was promoted to Captain where he oversaw the construction and christening of a heavy cruiser named Invincible. Ward continued to serve in the capacity of fleet officer for over eleven years before passing into flag ranks.

Ward was promoted to Commodore, where he served as a fleet staff officer. This close proximity to high ranking Admirals allowed him to show off his own command style, and he moved up into the rank of fleet executive officer in a matter of a year and half. At the age of 39 Galak felt he was at the top of the world, as his career in the Navy soared and his son joined the Republic Marine Corps. Galak pressed on in his career, being promoted to Vice Admiral four years later. Galak took command of the Seventh Republic Fleet, serving under famed High Admirals in encounters throughout the known galaxy. Galak began making friends with the upper echelon of the Republic military after over two decades of service to their military.

Two days after his turning 56 Galak was promoted to full Admiral, where he moved into command of the 3rd Fleet, a much more prestigious command. He also served as the executive officer of the sector fleet with a High Admiral as his direct superior. Galak served in this position during the First Hutt War, aiding in high priority battles and leading his men directly into the belly of the beast.

During the interim between Hutt Wars Galak was promoted to the highest and most prestigious rank of the Republic Navy, High Admiral. With his son as a General officer in the RMC and himself at his own position Galak's spirits soared. As the Second Hutt War begins and the Republic declares full war on the Hutts Galak prepares to bring his forces to bear and destroy the totality of the Republic's enemies.
