"But you've seen the holorecordings about the incident that brought us here, you know the one that was released to the public about his career and his life; haven't you?"

 

[The Gloaming]

"Yes, I have." Now Casir was really questioning his pressence here. They might as well have dragged someone from the streets.

[Counselor]

[The Gloaming]

"He impersonated a GA private, and tried to acquire weapons for the empire. Not to mention he conspired with the Sith. I saw the devestation on that woman's hangar." The holorecording came flooding back into his memory. He'd seen it in the GAIA rec-room, but he initially dismissed it, after all, they caught him in the act.

[Counselor]

"When you saw the recording," Dan paused for effect, "what exactly was the defendant wearing? We'll get to the hangar later, but who else accompanied him and what were they wearing?

 

[The Gloaming]

"Mr. Cantrell was wearing what looked like a CSF uniform. There were two others with him, one I couldn't identify by profession, maybe a merc. He was wearing a black leather vest, pants, boots and gloves. And he had a pendant around his neck. I couldn't make out what was written on the pendant. The other was wearing a dark cloak and a wide brimmed hat, and it was apparent he had a personal armory under that cloak. I think he was a merc as well.

 

[Counselor]

"Let's fast forward a few minutes, what happened to the hangar?"

[The Gloaming]

"The hangar was destroyed. When things turned ugly, the two mercs left in their ship. A D5 Mantis. The blew it up."

 

[Counselor]

"That is all," Dan said, "you're honor the Offense has finished and the defense can get started."

 

[Honorable]

"Your honor," Lionel said as he stepped into the so-called 'arena', "I would like to call Mr. Sunfell back to the stand."

 

[The Gloaming]

Casir returned to the stand and tried not to let his irritation show. He could swear Isabella was standing in the back, staring at him.

 

[Honorable]

"Mr. Sunfell thank you for your patience but I promise you that this will be short. When you saw the video, who threw the thermal detonators?"

 

[The Gloaming]

"Um, well there was a turret on the hangar ceiling. It shot the thermal detonators."

 

[Honorable]

"Yet you say that Mr. Cantrell was solely responsible for the damage to the hangar?"

 

[The Gloaming]

"No, I'm saying that he was responsible for unlawful impersonation of a GA officer, and for the provocation of the droids and hangar security. His associates were actually responsible for the hangar's destruction."

 

[Honorable]

"I'm sorry Mr. Sunfell but from what I understand you just said:

and earlier today you stated,

. So Mr. Sunfell, two of the questions I have for you are: are you a judge, jury, or have any right to determine if my client is guilty or not guilty? Second question is, are you mentally competent and can your words or statements be counted as truth or can you be deemed unstable and your statements be removed from the record?"

 

[The Gloaming]

"Neither of those two statements contradict each other. I saw the devastation does not mean I saw him devastate. Listen closely next time."

"To answer your first question, I have no position among the court to condemn your client, only to provide information to the best of my knowledge so that the appointed judge can decide to throw your client in prison."

He almost stopped before answering the second question, wondering whether he had really been asked such a thing. "Yes, I am competent enough to catch intelligent terrorists based on logic and information. Logic and information, which I have been providing accurately to you today. My knowledge is credible."

Isabella was shaking her head at him. Of course he hadn't lied, he was right about what he saw. But he was beginning to question his sanity all the same.

 

[Honorable]

"Unfortuantely Mr. Sunfell, in your earlier statement you said that he was impersonating a GA Private, then you've recently stated he was impersonating a GA Officer. As for your lack of position that you have acknolwedged that you have no authority to convict my client. However it seems I must remind the court that the Jury is the main body who declares a final verdict. Also you stated he was working with the Sith, where are you sources, can you verify them?"

 

[The Gloaming]

Damnit, I really slipped up. "Forgive my lack of knowledge in the realm of court proceedings. The assumption that he was working with the Sith was based on the knowledge that he was working for the Empire at the time. The two factions are congruent."

 

[Honorable]

"Of course I even assumed that you meant the Empire, but do you have any proof that he is part of the Imperial Military? Or is this just an assumption based on your Intelligence experience?
