G.I. Joe Cast Member(s) Revealed

Ray Park (Darth Maul, "Toad") is playing Snake Eyes in the upcoming "G.I. Joe" live-action Movie. I, personally, didn't know about this movie until just now, and I like their choice of Ray Park for Snake Eyes.

Someone fill me in on this. I have practically no knowledge of GI Joe other than it was a Hasbro thing (I think...). Would Snake Eyes mean he is a prominent antagonist? Ray Park is a decent acrobatic actor.

Snake Eyes is a prominent PROTAGONIST, as in he's a member of "G.I. Joe". He's one of the World's Greatest Ninjas. The other "Best Ninja Ever" guy is Storm Shadow, who fights for Cobra. The two characters know each other very well.


EDIT: IMDB has Byung-hun Lee listed for playing Storm Shadow in the movie.

Who's playing Joe?

From what I've read about this stuff, G.I. Joe isn't a character, but rather the name of the team of people. However, Channing Tatum is playing First Sergeant Conrad S. Hauser/Duke and he's listed first in the cast lists, so I guess he's the main character. After him there's Dennis Quaid, Rachel Nichols, Ray Park and Marlon Waynes.

Duke was the leader of the squad in the cartoons.

Yeah, "G.I. Joe" is the code-name for a special Counter-Terrorist force. "Cobra" is the Terrorist force that they fight against all the time.
