Mid focused the force to stop the Dug from escaping, but the sight of flashes out of the corner of his eye coming at them would cause him to break his hold instantly and jump in front of Hex. He ignited his second blade and spun the weapon in front of him, creating a wall of crimson plasma and deflecting the bolts as they were about to hit him and his comrade, allowing Hex to fire off his other rounds at the fleeing Dug. The bolts from the Dug would fly off and dissipate without doing any damage. He kept spinning the weapon until the very last bolt went up into the sky. He stopped spinning the weapon and held it diagonally in front of him with his left hand, ready to block any more shots from the sneaky Jedi.

The Jedi's friend disappeared over the hill with his damaged swoop. The rebel onslaught was losing momentum against the solid imperial walls. The Jedi was alone against the two Sith and with only 5 rounds left in his rifle at most he was running out of options for offense. Things were going downhill fast for the rebels.

Mid stood stalwart, his lightsabre ready to spin again to defend him and his comrade from the Jedi's attacks while Hex proceeded to retaliate against the Jedi with a hail of gunfire.

So far he was one of the few remaining soldiers still trying to take the base. So far there wasn't any way for him to storm up the wall to defeat the two Sith. Not while he was still in training trying to learn his way around the Force. So as he fired his bolts he began to retreat behind the boulder which was only a couple of steps away with the Force speeding him up he would be able to get behind it before the Sith's bolts would find their mark. Taking a second to catch his breath he notice a number of rebels beginning to retreat while others were either to brave or not paying attention continue to fight.

While he was behind his boulder he called on the Force and had his lightsaber fly into his hand which was still behind cover. There wasn't much that he could do, the fight wasn't going as they had planned and it seemed they weren't going to be breaking though the walls.

"Retreat." Alexei shouted for the other rebels to fall back, right now they needed to get off world the battle was lost and as much as he wanted to stay and continue to fight there wasn't going to be any way for them to get though.

Swallowing his pride and after the fire bolts all hit the boulder he then began to sprint away from the base. Fully away of the shame he would have. He had hoped to accomplish this task but it wasn't possible without getting killed. For now they would retreat and think of another way to fight.

The rebel ducked away back behind the boulder, somehow avoiding the flurry of bolts, and Hex lowered his rifle when he heard the call to retreat. It seemed they had succeeded in repelling the attack. They'd held the rebels off long enough for them to run out of ammo and morale, which, to be fair, was good enough for him. A victory is a victory.

As the rebel troops began pulling back, one lone figure approached on a rusty speeder, box on his back reading "Jerry's Pizza." The man was covered in sweat and swatting at insects absentmindedly with his right hand, his left steering the vehicle, and his eyes looked dead. Passing by the troops and unfazed by their guns, the delivery guy drove up to the gates of the outpost, ironically getting closer than the rebels had been able to.

"Jerry's Pizza!" he yelled, ringing the doorbell. "Anyone order a pizza?"

Hex turned to Mid, his face murderous. "You deal with him. If I go down there, I'll just end up shooting him."

Mid stood rock solid in front of Hex, still holding his polearm in front of him, ready to block again. The call to retreat sounded and what was left of the rebel assault group fell back. The Jedi go up and disappeared over the hill. The day was won.

Mid relaxed, holstered his polearm and took his helmet off with a sigh of relief. Mid would have loved to test the Jedi's skill with a blade, but a victory is a victory. Why complain?

The delivery guy sounded off by the front gate. Hex asked Mid to deal with him. "I'm not too far from that choice myself." he said as he walked down the wall's stairway to meet the kid. "Where the hell were you?!" he shouted, throwing his arms into the air. "In the time it took you to get here, we not only sat around for half an hour, but we also repelled a rebel invasion! What's your excuse?!" he was furious at the kid...and the kid was petrified of him.

Mid snatched the boxes from him, still giving him a death stare. "If I have to pay for this, I'll have your head, go to your shop, then have your manager's head as well." he said barely above a growl. He started walking away, but stopped. He gave an annoyed sigh and pulled a few credits from a pouch on his belt, dropping it in the kid's hand. "Some danger money for coming through an active combat zone." and with that he left the delivery boy to be escorted out. He couldn't just let the kid go empty handed.

At least they could finish off this eventful day on a tasty note.
