Frozen deserts, frozen mountains, and frozen oceans... "Is there any part of this planet that isn't frozen?"

Knight Zathria At'arel and Padawan Maura Starwalk had just landed on Obroa-skai and descended the ramp of their ship just outside one of the planet's major cities. It was a warm 0°F out, so the knife-eared padawan had wrapped a scarf tightly around her lower face and ears in addition to the cold weather robes she was already wearing. "I feel like a walking snowman," she grumbled from underneath the brightly-colored scarf, not all that happy about the weather and feeling a little claustrophobic in the layers of clothing she was wearing. "I can't believe this is considered warm weather!"

The teen shuffled around to look behind them, squinting away from the city and into the mountains that stretched on for miles and miles. Their destination lay somewhere in that direction, away from the warmth of heated buildings and shelter from the wind. Apparently there was an old Jedi academy somewhere off in the mountains, and if Maura and Zathria could find and confirm it was in at least repairable condition, it could be a step towards getting the Jedi out of spaceships and onto solid ground again.

"They should've built the temple in the city," she grumbled again, unable to curb her lack of enthusiasm. "Do we at least get to rent snow speeders?" Her tone perked up a little bit at the idea. She'd never ridden a snow speeder, and though she doubted they were any different from regular ones (minus being designed for lower temps), she still really wanted to.

This seemed like a weird planet for a Jedi temple and a weird planet for high technology or luxury goods. From what Zathria could see, there wasn't really anything... nice about it. It was just cold and frozen. How did you even have a frozen desert anyway?

Well, ultimately, they were here to find the old academy and anything that might be of use there. Zathria hoped they may be able to set up an enclave here as it would give them somewhere to settle other than just Brighthome. Though, to be honest, Zathria had started to see the appeal of mobile bases. Still, it wasn't the same. The connection to the Force just felt a little more dull to her when she was in space.

Yeah, I don't think walking is a good idea, she said to the question about snowspeeders. Zathria was already bundled in excessive amounts of thermal clothing, which kept her from feeling awful, but it wasn't something she wanted to risk weathering for hours.

She pulled out her datapad and poked at the display, looking for the coordinates to the alleged old base. Some rumors and claims said that Darth Sidious had seen it destroyed, but she was hoping those claims were exaggerated.

Why don't you work on finding us a rental location or some charter services that can get us out there, she said to Maura.

Zathria would get about halfway through her sentence before Maura interrupted - "Got it!" - and went shuffling off into town to find the nearest snow speeder rental service. It didn't take her too long to find once, especially since those sorts of businesses often set up near the edge of towns anyways.

"Can I get two snow speeders?"

"Aren't you a little young to be going off into the snow?"

Maura squinted across the counter at the stout little man who owned the rental place, trying to discern whether or not that was a serious question or not. In the end she couldn't figure it out, so she just answered the best she could.

"Uh, no?" Clearly the man didn't care too much in the first place, because he sold the rentals to her without another word of concern. The vehicles looked a little weathered, but they didn't seem like they'd fall apart or anything.

Maura called Zathria on her comms and instructed her where to find her.

Maura was darting off to who knew where almost immediately in order to find them transport. Zathria hadn't even finished her sentence...

Well, this probably wasn't that dangerous of an area anyway, so it'd probably be fine. Zathria let out a quiet sigh and headed into the small town, making her way into the store to get provisions for their journey. Just some basis and nothing too fancy before heading out to the area that Maura had indicated.

Did you do any reading on the temple before we came here? she asked. She guessed the answer was "no" because that was the answer she usually got from Padawans, but she'd be pleasantly surprised if the answer wasn't.

The truth was, Zathria wanted to help the Padawans become competent Knights, and that meant that no one would be holding their hands.

How would you approach finding and exploring this temple? she asked as a follow up question.

"Uhhh, kinda?" She'd read what was in the mission briefing, but the girl hadn't researched the place. It probably would've been a good idea, but she didn't like to read since she could rarely sit still long enough to do it anyway.

"Um, I guess I'd probably scan the area first, if that's possible," Maura began, still considering her words. "If not, I guess I'd look in areas that are hidden or like, concealed from view or the worst of the wind. So like, not one of the exterior mountains, but maybe one of interior ones?"

She was trying to imagine how a protagonist in an adventure movie might go about things, like Baura Braft. Baura was more of a tomb raider though, and they weren't exactly raiding tombs... maybe it was still applicable.

"But the academy wasn't really hidden in the first place right? It's just been abandoned and lost, so I doubt it's like super hidden, right?" She looked over to Zathria for approval - or disapproval - but she was somewhat confident that her answer made sense, even if it was a tad bit vague.

Even if she wasn't one hundred on how they'd go about finding it, she was eager to get moving. "Let's go! I got us two speeders - the cheap ones."
