The pirate base was, of all places, back on Sullust.

It made a certain kind of sense to be honest - it meant that they were able to keep an eye on the manufacturer they were stealing from and it meant that they didn't have to go too far without refuelling. Of course the fact that it made sense didn't stop it from being annoying as hell that the whole damn bounty could have been, more or less, secured just by taking a trip across the planet to the base directly.

Of course it had taken fighting the pirates in space to actually get the knowledge of the base's location but that was, as far as he was concerned, beside the point. He was allowed to be annoyed without having to explain it or justify it.

Oh wait.

He was supposed to be acting more Jedi-like... he reluctantly let his annoyance and irritation fade into the Force as he checked his equipment again. He was dressed in typical rebel armour and armed with his lightsabers and blasters. Checking them for any rust or dirt, he left his shuttle when satisfied to meet with those who would support him during the attack.

"Alright - anyone got any preference for the attack?"

Castor was open to any kind of approach but, in the end, they were either killing or capturing every single pirate in the base so it would likely go loud at some point.

And wait... who the kriff was that?

He swore.

"Mercenaries - they're attacking at our landing point before we can attack!"

Actually a smart move to be honest.

He had arrived with Mig a few moments ago. They were waiting for one last person before they could make their attack.

He shifted in his armor. It was still a little tight for him, he would much rather just wear his coat, but he had finally given in to the nagging and wore the stupid armor. They had been sent to fight pirates. Pirates were bad. Sometimes Pirates would come to his village and try to steal from his people, but Kushiban were fast, and smart...too smart for stupid pirates. He was sure these would be the same.

He was told he maybe some type of wizard or something...A Jedi...something like that, but hadn't actually been taught how to use his new magical powers yet so, for now, he stuck to his two guns..and grenades! This new group he had joined had all sorts of weapons, most were far too big for Firen, but they had come up with some good stuff for him.

"I say we blow them up before they know anything!" he said making an explosive gesture with his hands. He looked to Mig. He was the better fighter.

Before they could discuss further, shots rang out as Castor announced they were under attack....duh. He pulled out both of small blasters and dove for cover, not sure which way they were coming from just yet. At least he wouldn't be bored..

Fitting the little Kushiban into the bomber was always super easy. The guy was tiny. Mig came to this fight fully decked out in his heavy armor and weapons. The Gotal had hardly gotten his barrings when shots rang out. It seems their arrival was not exactly subtle. Mig could not use the same cover as the tiny Kushiban but there was a crate on the pad he could dive behind. In his hands, he already had the bowcaster ready. That would be how he started things off most likely. First threats had to be found though.

"Loud and explosive it is, friends!" He said with a giggle of glee.

The Gotal spotted a few mercenaries over the top of the crate, but the suppressing fire was too hot for him to aim just yet. Once they broke to reload or change targets, that's when Mig would strike. He also eyeballed the grenades at his belt as another option if they needed it. For now though, he simply waited.

There were six mercenaries with rifles and grenades - nothing out of the ordinary - but there was their leader as well. The man was the reason why they were so wanted within this system and he was no pushover. Instead of a blaster rifle, the man had a light repeater that he brought to battle, swinging it around, laying down suppressing fire on all of them with barely any noticeable effort on his part.

Seemed over-powered to Castor but that was a thought for another time.

"Firen - suppress them or something. Miy - focus on blowing up their leader!" he suggested, igniting both of his lightsabers with a deep breath as he took comfort in their white glow, "I'll be a distraction, yeah?"

Dashing out from behind cover, Castor batted back the bolts that came flying his way and was able to bounce one of them right back into the face of one of the mercenaries with rifles. The rest thought? It was all he could do to block their bolts as they came, even as he continued to edge towards cover.

He had successfully drawn the attention off of the others thought so he would appreciate some damned support post haste!

Blaster fire flew overhead as Firen stuck behind his short cover. The light repeater wouldn't let up on them.

"Got it, chief." he said to Castor. He tried to poke his head out once and almost had it taken off. "Well this is no good..." he said to himself. He took a deep breath before pulling both of his blasters and popping up. He couldn't really see the enemy all that well so he just fired blindly, apparently not doing much. His two pistols weren't much of a match for the superior firepower of rifles and repeaters. He was quickly forced back down as they returned fire.

He knew what could help! He had been given two grenades before they arrived. He pulled one of the small explosive devices from his belt and pulled the pin. As he threw it, a stray blaster bolt just grazed his arm below the wrist. It caused his aim to be way off, not near any of his allies, but definitely not towards the enemy either. "Oww!" he cried out, smell of burnt fur filling the air. It had come close enough to burn, and would likely be hard use the hand until he got it looked at, but he would survive...for now.

Things were definitely not looking great!

Castor wasn't entirely sure what was happening but he was aware of one thing and that was that there was no covering fire coming from his allies. Instead, it seemed that the little bunny rabbit had taken something of a hit. Cursing, Castor knew that he would need to get to cover and he moved to the right, hoping to grab some cover before things got any worse.

As he was getting to the cover, a blaster pistol shot skidded against a wall, skimming it, before it hit him in the face. Thankfully his armor came equipped with a mask. Unfortunately the shot still staggered her and sent him sprawling. Thankfully, once again, he fell behind cover.

Groaning, he pulled the damaged mask from his face as he knelt behind the cover. He touched his com link.

"You alright bunny?" he asked one of his allies before immediately addressing the other, "Hey! Gotal! Get your kriff together!"

Right now it was like there was just him and a bunny rabbit in this fight and that was, he wasn't going to lie, kind of weird. If someone had told him he would be fighting alongside a bunny rabbit that could talk and fire a blaster? It didn't matter how far back they would have told him - he'd have called nerf-shite.

"Ughhh.." he groaned. "Yeah I'm fine" he said has blaster fire continued flying towards them. He wasn't going to let these punks get the best of him. "You can do this." he whispered to himself, forgetting to turn his comm off. "Alright!" he said poking his head out of cover, spotting two men approaching Castor's cover.

"Watch out, chief!" he said firing his blaster pistol. Both men fell with shots in their side. That should buy him some time, now to worry about those attacking him.

One man yelled as he charged Firen, some sort of blade in his hand. Firen let his instincts take over. abandoning the pistol and pulling his small vibrosword out. There was no way he would match the strength of the larger being, but Fired was fast, or at least faster than his attacker.

Letting out a yell of his own, he charged back at the human, which caused the man to pause at the sight. It was the opening he needed. Jumping off of his legs, he launched himself at the man. His small sword pierced the man's chest as he fell back. The sword stuck into the ground. Firen tried to pull it free, but it was stuck. He let a string of curses before abandoning the thing.

Mig looked around at the chaos as he hid in cover. He had yet to really do anything as he was scared to pop up among all the blaster fire. It was terrifying for someone who was not raised a fighter. Enough shouting, cursing, and sense of duty finally got through to the Gotal. His PIPE popped up over the crate he used for cover and he screamed out a high-pitched, horrifying battle cry as he released a rocket in the general direction of the leader. It would be a massive explosion that would likely turn heads and halt fire for a moment. Especially considering where he hit.

"Wooosh!" Mig whispered to himself as the rocket flew forwards, smashing into the ground right in front of the mercenary that seemed to be leading the enemies.

Unfortunately, that was not too far from Firen. While not within fatal range it would certainly be a wave of warm pressure that might fling him back. Some debris might clash into him too but nothing life threatening. Just annoying and likely super terrifying. Mig's end goal was accomplished though when the last thing the Mercenary leader saw was a tiny rabbit charging his men when a rocket came soaring over its head. It would be comical had it not been his death.

Seemed that the bunny was fine and when the other one pulled his finger out? Well, Castor was just glad that he was on the same side as the creature with the god-damn explosives. Still, this was their chance to actually get the other mercenaries as well and it was high time they did!

"Alright - pour it on!"

Castor moved to get up from cover and immediately regretted his decision.

Seemingly ignoring the rebel with the heavy explosives, literally every remaining gun trained on Castor and began to unload. Cursing, the Jedi slammed down to the ground again to grab some cover, unfortunately damn near braining himself on a rock as he cursed and tried to hug close to the cover to avoid being shot.

Today was a bad day.

Before he could recover further, an explosion sent him flying. He was vaguely aware of the stinging as small bits of debris pelted against him. He landed near by, rolling before somehow managing to get to his feet. He pulled the second of his blasters out, and took aim even as his world was spinning.

He pulled the trigger, and nothing happened. His mind was muddled, sure that something was wrong, but unsure what it was. He pulled the trigger again, and again, and still nothing. He looked down and saw the power pack had been ejected somewhere in his fall.

He now stood in the open, weaponless.

It seemed the little friend Mig had recruited and the other guy were in trouble. Mig knew it was his turn to be a hero yet again. Instead of using the PIPE to cause more explosions, he lifted his bowcaster and screamed out his battle cry. The battle cry sounded like a goat giving painful birth so most eyes suddenly turned towards him. He fired a shot and totally missed everyone, but got their attention with that heavy slug slamming into a wall causing a loud thud. People were starting to realize that this Gotal had nothing but heavy firepower. That was a problem they had to handle first.

"FOR THE ALLIANCE!"
Mig shouted next as he took aim a second time, only to be pelted with debris from return fire. "Eeeek!"

A cry for help and then literal crying came as he ducked down behind cover again. Mig felt bullied now and tears came down his face. All he wanted to do was blow up bad guys. Being shot at was no fun! The Gotal sobbed to himself as his cover got blasted repeatedly. His friends would be safe for a moment at least, but no real progress was made. They'd need to save Mig soon before his cover was destroyed while he cried in a fetal position.

Sometimes you had to accept that, despite your best laid plans, you had failed to achieve your goal.

Sometimes you had to accept that a victory could be in merely surviving to fight another day.

It wasn't something Castor liked but as he looked at the rebels who had followed him into battle today, he knew that it was something that he would need to accept. Throwing themselves at an enemy who had repeatedly thrown them back was just asking for their luck to run out and for them to be overpowered and either captured or killed.

This was not acceptable.

Taking a deep breath, Castor screwed up his face in concentration and brought every scrap of the Force he had at his disposal into his right hand. His hand shook from the pressure of keeping all of that power in his hand before he was ready. Standing, Castor threw his hand out towards the mercenaries and the Force rushed forth from his hand to protect an illusion onto the world, an illusion showing the rebels being five feet to the right of where they actually were.

A desperate diversion.

Rushing out from cover, Castor stooped to pick Firen up, carrying him under one arm as he rushed over to Mig. The fire was concentrated five feet to the right, meaning that Mig was no longer under direct fire. He reached down, slinging one of the Gotal's arms over his shoulder and half-helping him along and half-dragging him towards Castor's still-parked shuttle.

"Up Mig, up!" he encouraged the rebel, "This is no place to die..."

Getting all of them into the shuttle, Castor called out to the droids that had been keeping the shuttle idling this entire time.

"GO!"

The shuttle began to close up and lift off, the small arms fire of the mercenaries not doing anything to it's shields. Setting both of his rebel allies down, Castor managed to make it to the other side of the shuttle, where he could collapse into a seat. His shaking hands rubbed at his face.

"... I'm sorry." he told them both, "I'm so sorry I dragged you into this."
