The morning sunlight beamed through the glass covering the front of the cockpit, waking Syrin up. She had decided to sleep in her ship, rather than going into the Jedi Academy to mingle with strangers. Getting up from the pilot seat, Syrin let out a loud yawn and stretched her legs out, heading toward the cargo room which was currently being used as a lounge. She dug through boxes dirty piles of clothes to get dressed, and then she made her way outside.

It was a beautiful day; the air was fresh, the birds were chirping in the distance, and a slight breeze flowed through the forest. Syrin made her way toward the entrance of the Jedi temple, where there was a small training ground. She sat herself up onto a tree stump and waited for Oren. She waited very impatiently and tapped her foot in rapid succession. Syrin hoped that the time spent on this planet would not be a waste of time, because there would be some trouble if it were. However, she would continue to wait as she was curious about what she could possibly be taught.

There would come a time in every student's career in which they would have to learn to buy into the system. It didn't matter how much talent one had, if they didn't believe nor trained, then it mattered little. Oren could understand why Syrin didn't want to move into the temple right away, he had felt the same way as a child. All of this was still new and he couldn't hold it against her.

Yet, with the things that occurred on Tatooine, he was still skeptical on if he had even made the right decision to begin with. In due time, even I wasn't the best student. Give her a chance and guide her, be that mentor she needs. The words rang through his mind and gave him purpose as he stepped out into the bright Ajan Kloss morning.

Peering towards the training area, he would find the white haired girl waiting for him. A small smile forming on his lips as he approached, "Did you sleep well?" He mused, "I can prepare your room for you, if you'd like."

As Oren came out of the temple, Syrin got up from her seat with a face full of frustration. She didn't care for small talk, as she only agreed to come to the planet for training. "I didn't come here to chat, old man. You said you could train me, so show me what you have to offer." Her voice was very assertive and crude.

Syrin doubted there was much she could learn from the Jedi. She was already proficient in combat and had a decent variety of force powers in her repertoire. However there was one thing she was eager to learn of, and it was how to obtain a lightsaber. Syrin had met a sith with one before, and she knew Jedi also carried them. With a lightsaber, she wouldn't have to rely on the force too much and tire herself out every day.

Looking around the temple for a moment, Syrin noticed the place was rather big but unprotected. There were no destroyers hovering over the planet for protection, there were no shield generators, there weren't even any defense mechanisms on the temple. "I guess the stories of the Jedi being wiped out years ago were true; these people are fools."

"So sure of ourselves," he'd muse with a smile, his hands falling behind his back as he walked around the training grounds. He would walk right past Syrin, not paying any mind or attention to the tantrum she was throwing. There were several complications with her and could prove problematic if the Council caught wind of her arriving here on the grounds.

"This is why you will fail," he'd say in a flat tone as he turned back towards the girl with a raised brow. The force wasn't a game, there was more to it, and she like many new students failed to realize this. Each action caused ripples to be felt throughout, yet fortunately for the Jedi most students had little collection or skills in the force. Syrin here had some training, but from where.

"There are a few rules, you will come to learn and follow. You are not special, you are a student of mine, one of many. In due time you will come to meet them." He would slowly sit down in the center of the training grounds, a soft sigh escaping from his lips, he could feel her mind dwelling, her desires, they all were on full display. "And in due time you will get what you desire, but only once you have earned the right."

His brown eyes would narrow, "Now tell me..Where did you learn to use the force?"

Eyes slightly twitching after being agitated by Oren's comment "you will fail,". Failure was never an option to her, for she wouldn't be alive if she had failed in the past in all of her predicaments. She turned around and faced the Jedi and crossed her arms; she was interested in what exactly he had planned for her. "A combat test? Some sort of random task? Don't tell me it's an essay..." She thought to herself

So far, Syrin believes that the Jedi Order is too controlling. Based on what Oren says, that means no individual Jedi trainee is special since they are apparently only known as a "student". In her view, this was no different than the treatment of a slave. Slaves are not special, and they are just one of many who have a singular master. Only in due time, they could get what they desired: Freedom, only when they have done enough work. However, Syrin wouldn't let the Jedi order bind her forever, and she could easily turn her back away from them, unlike a slave. For slave lacks what Syrin has: Power. The power to control oneself's and dictate their own life their own way. A few younger looking Jedis seemed to exit the temple, and they walked around doing a few chores. "Starting them from a young age, this is for sure slavery."

After that long train of thought, Syrin finally brought her attention back to Oren. It took her a moment to remember what he had asked, but once she remembered she responded in a neutral tone: "Don't know the name of the place, but it was a very swampy planet. Lots of ruins, temples, and destroyed buildings."

Oren could sense the anger resonating through the force, his comments were a test, a cruel one he'd admit. A Jedi was allowed to have emotions, but to let them fester and burn inside one, that would only lead to more pain and hardship. He needed to be tough, he had taken a risk, and he wasn't sure if this would pay off--I could very much be leading everyone here to their deaths.

He would tilt his head slightly, contemplating the planets he knew that fit that way, "Jungle...Yavin IV? Dxun?" He'd muse out loud, "Someone there...they trained you in these abilities?" He'd ask with a curious tone, motioning for the girl to sit across from him. He needed to figure out what she knew, who taught her, and only then could he correct it.

The ground felt fairly soft when sat upon, it seems the students here do a good job keeping the place nice. Syrin was unaware of any of the names Oren listed, but it could have possibly been one of those planets; she wasn't sure. As for his other question, she had to think for a while. Syrin's grandmother never actually trained her, but rather gave Syrin missions. Essentially, Syrin was self-trained. "I learned everything myself. Some of those ruins had some strange drawings that depicted different force powers and I was able to learn some of them. There were many others but the drawings weren't really clear."

Syrin could have carried on a bit more, but she decided she wouldn't give out information when not asked for it. Never miss a good chance to shut up.

"I see, and you taught yourself everything you know from these walls?" He'd frown slightly as he attempted to think of where one could possibly go learn suck knowledge. He knew there had to be ruins scattered across the galaxy, but it seemed that whatever she learned did not come from the Jedi.

"Well the truth of the matter is, your skills are quite impressive,
" he'd say with sincerity, "You command the force with ease for someone with little formal training." He would think back to his own days of training and the things he had learned, "The force is interesting, it has many powerful abilities. Some of them are darker than the other." He'd hold out both of his hands, one flesh and the other robotic. "There are many aspects to the force, there is the living force and there is the cosmic force. There is the light and there is the dark, all of these things have polar opposites...just like my hand." He'd flex his fingers with a chuckle.

"The darkside of the force is strong and seductive, it hints at great physical raw power, that allows you to manipulate and dominate the will of others, while the lightside can be felt when one is at peace. Some say that their powers are far greater than that of the darkside, and I suppose it comes down to perspective. I see potential in you, and I'll be honest, that's what scares me."
