I stood and watched anxiously as my father walked over to the group of men. They had been his friends in the past, but they hadn't spoken in some time. I heard the man yell something in Twi'lek only catching the part about credits. I watched the blue Twi'lek from my hiding place in the dark alley ways shadows. The obvious gang member pushed my father and started laughing. My father began to talk back to them in the same tongue they had just spoken. The Twi'lek looked in my direction then pulled out his blaster shooting my father multiple times. The buzz of the blaster echoed down the alley way 5 times. I flinched at each burst. I made a movement to step out when the gang had left but held back. I took in a breath and ran over to my dead father and looked over his body. He was clearly dead. Tears began to fill my eyes and I reached into his pocket pulling out what I could and quickly pushing them back into my own pockets. I felt something inside of me. It told me to run so thats what I did.

I quickly sat up awoken from my dream I was drenched in sweat as I lay on my bed roll. Looking around I set my head back on my pillow. It had almost been a year since he had been murdered. I still hadn't found out who the Twi'lek that killed my father was. His face still haunted my dreams. I looked around the small hut that was built for 3 but only sheltered me. I stood up realizing I had to be to the ship yard in just under 20 minutes. I quickly put on some of my fathers old clothing and ran down the walkway. The various creatures glared at me, I only looked at the Twi'lek creatures though in hope of finding my fathers murderer. I had been doing this since his death. I began to wonder if I would ever find him. Shaking my head I turned into the ship yard. I began to walk down the pathway now looking at what I thought used to be my friends but have always been enemies. They dont care whether your living or dead on this planet. I felt something rumble inside of me. It felt like an echo, then I could see a Bothan getting crushed by a large durasteel sheet. I turned down the walkway and heard a yell in Bothese and the sound of durasteel echoing down the shipyard. I stopped and looked at the crush Bothan and wondered how I knew that would happen before it did. I shrugged it off thinking I was just day dreaming and began to go to work. I was placing a slab of durasteel on a ship when a group of Rodians approached me. They didn't speak any language I knew but when they drew their blaster rifles I knew what they wanted and handed them all the credits I had on me. I sat down on the floor not knowing what to do. That was the money I had for food and I didn't wanna steal food from the upper class, they were getting suspicious. I looked at where I was loading the durasteel and began to think about sneaking onto the ship. I had no idea where it was going, but it had to be better than this planet. I stood and walked towards the ship when a fellow human came up and put his hand on my shoulder. "Hey kid... your off now.. why dont you go home." I looked up at the man and nodded walking out of the complex and back to the refugee sector. I didn't know what to do now. My stomach growled and I could see a family across from my shelter eating and thought of taking something from them to barter for food. I closed my eyes and calmed myself as my father had taught me. "I cant steal from those that are in the same place as me..." I closed my eyes and laid down on the bed roll. I whispered under my breath so only I could hear it "I dont know what to do...."

*At the entrence of the Refugee sector and Outside his room Voices could be heard,There voices began to rise in anger against on single Man,a Jedi Knight,It wouldnt be the most wisest of descisions but the 4 rodians didnt know what they were doing,All four of them drew blasters,One Drew a Disenegrator and the other 3 drew heavy Mandalorian Blaster Pistols,Both armed with illegal modifactions,not rare on this planet,a Silcence was followed by a rodian Voice and then..blaster shots began to ring out one after the other,Smoke filled the air from the blasters,they couldnt see,Suddenly in the midst of the smoke a Blue Light could be seen as extended from the hilt of the Lightsaber,it began to get closer,it zipped straight through one of the rodians,it jumped over another coming straight through his chest,the other dropped its weapon and ran and one continued firing ,the blaster bolts were begin deflected in every way,suddenly it came from now where,from behind him,it was almost as if The Jedi Faded into the smoke itself and then appearing behind the rodian gutting him through his back,the light dissapeared back into his hilt,Carith stood there,he clipped the saber back onto his belt and looked around at the rodians on the ground,They were standing at this room at this door planning to kill someone in there Carith heard it on there voices...Carith wanted to find out,he approached the door and knocked, his fist rang against it sending a slight echo throughout the metal*

"Hello?..Anyone In there"

*It was the door of the Boy,though Carith didnt know that he just wanted to find out what these thugs wanted*

I heard talking outside the door and wondered why the Rodians were still speaking. I stood up and walked over to the door and heard a response of blaster fired and jumped behind the wall. None hit the wall which caused me to look out one of the holes in the shelters walls. I seen a blue beam swing by that was followed by a scream from one of the Rodians. I stared in awe wondering what was happening. I seen a Rodian shoot and the beam deflected the red bolts back at the Rodian but missed. Then one ricocheted and hit the door sending me to the floor. I quickly stood and looked out the hole again only to see the blade gone and a man walking towards my shelter. I backed up some wondering what he wanted. Then I heard a knock, it wasn't harsh and hard like most knocks were that had been of residents in the Refugee Sector or Nar Shaddaa at all. The knock was followed by a voice, "Hello?..Anyone In there" I looked at the door and slowly approached the weak door and pulled it open. I looked up at the man somewhat frightened but more curious than anything. I looked out into the sector and seen the 3 dead Rodians. The same that had mugged me, I took in a breath and looked back up at the man. "Hello..." I stuck my arm out to let the man into the shelter many of the people around were watching now, mainly at the man and whispering. I couldn't tell what they were saying, but they were curious. "Would... you like to come in...?" The shelter wasn't much. There was the bed roll in the corner and table with 2 chairs in the opposite. The room was damp and had a cold darkness that was warmed by a single lit lantern. Almost everything inside was generations old. It could have been mistaken for a dump if there wasn't the small signs that someone lived there. I awaited an answer from the man hoping he would come in.

*Carith nodded and entered,there wasnt much to the shelter it was just a plain room with little in it,He looked around looking upon the plain walls and everything in the room,the boy was young and seemed like he stayed by himself*

"Are you alright?"

*The boy seemed sad there was somthing in him,it seemed as if the force flowed in this boy,Carith could tell do to his hightened senses,Carith removed his hood letting it drop behind him revealing his long hair falling back...The force seemed to reside in the boy and seemed to be at an unrest mostly happens when one is either angry or sad*

 

[Rev]

I watched the man look around at the shelter. I looked around, it wasn't much but it was good enough for now.

"No... I live here by myself, my father... he... was killed by a gang"

I paused and looked down at the floor and sat on the damp and cold floor.

"My mother died giving birth to me... at least thats what my father told me, I dont know much about it... and that gang of rodians you just killed... they took all my money and brought it back to their leader, now I'm pretty much dead."

I spoke as if I knew that it was going to happen, it had happened to my father, and a shelter in the same sector all around the same time. People were killed often here and no one thought of it, better you then me was their outlook. I leaned against the side of the shelter and looked up at the man.

"I'm Revan, Revan Ultor"

I had made the assumption that the man had expected for me to say this earlier but was unsure and wanted to get it off my chest. I looked at a small part of metal object that stuck off the mans belt.

"Whats that thing you used to... kill that gang? A high powered plasma cutter?"

I looked at the man unsure of what it was, it was nother I had ever seen before, looked like a part of a ship but nothing more than that. I looked up at the man wondering what he had to say now.

*Carith chuckled at his statemant about his lightsaber*

"No it is a Lightsaber,The tool of a Jedi...and i am sorry to here about your parents"

*Carith ignited his lightsaber,the blue blade illuminating in the air lighting the shelter up,he brought it to Cariths side and cut a small pouch containing 2000 credits in it,it was all over Cariths earnings he threw them down in front of the boy*

"Take those,there is alot there"

*Carith deactivated his saber clipping it back onto his belt*

"Nice to meet you revan Ultor,i am Carith Korso"

*Carith again felt the force residing in the boy,it was almost like this one was force sensitive he hadnt reached the age limit either,he could be trained in the ways of the Jedi..*

 

[Rev]

I looked up at the man, Carith...

"A lightsaber..."

The word had been said by my father in the passed but I thought it was just him telling a story, then Carith mentioned something about being a Jedi and that was in the same story. I had completely ignored him being sorry for my parents, although he was one of the first to say it. I then looked at the credits he had put before me. My eyes looked at them but soon looked away as my hand took the pouch. I tossed it back up to him.

"It would just be wasted on the gang members.. as you can see... I'm young, only 10"

I took in a breath

"I cant fend for myself yet... all I have is a blaster pistol, those gangs have blasters I could only dream to own, then they have illegal modifications to them, I'd die by being grazed by a shot."

I slowly stood up thinking back on when he spoke of the Jedi, still looking at the blue blade that was now illuminating the small shack.

"How do you become a Jedi? Carith..."

*Carith looked at him and cocked an eyebrow,he did have the force potential to become a Jedi*

"Becoming a Jedi is not somthing you take Lightly,It takes greatdiscipline and long hard training,Although you are at the age limit to become...."

*Carith paused in his sentence,again igniting his lightsaber, Suddenly 4 blaster rounds came out of no where and were immediatly deflected by him,they shot in each direction,Carith grabbed the boy and threw him behind carith,Two men in assasin suits came into the room,They had Vibro blades,Although they were skilled they were no match for Carith,Carith stood still,The two men brought there blades in the same direction at Cariths side,Right before they were going to hit him he jumped straight up leaping off the wall pushing off for another,he brought his lightsaber out cutting one of the men straight through the stomach,the other swung furiously at Carith but couldnt hit him,the man then made one mistake,he swung out to far,Carith used this moment,He summond the Force creating a massive Force Push sending the man hurdling into the wall knocking him out...Carith turned to the boy again*

"I geuss those thugs i killed were pretty important.."

*Carith looked at the boy,he couldnt leave him here the thugs would slaughter him or worse torture,Carith shook his head, he then heard more men outside,Carith quickly used the Force, and closed the door locking it tight, Carith stuck his hand out*

"Come with me"

 

[Rev]

I pondered about the ways of the Jedi as he spoke. Long and hard... I was up to the challenge, all my life had been so far was tough times and death. I nodded and assured myself that is what I wanted to become. Just before Carith paused I felt something inside of me tell me to take cover. Just as this feeling came to me I heard the blaster rounds and watched them deflect off Cariths lightsaber and go in every direction. I then felt my self get pulled and was behind the cover of Carith.

I watched Carith fight the 2 thugs. I followed the blades movement and studied it. I watched the blade cut through the first thug as if it were nothing. Then something sent the 2nd man across the room and into the wall. They were some of the best thigs in this sector, known for getting what they wanted when they wanted. He took them both out as if they were nothing. I heard the men outside and took a step back expecting them to burst through the open door, but then it swung closed and locked itself. I looked to Carith expecting it was him using the "Force" that did this. I looked at his hand that reached out and something told me that he would teach me the Force or someone he knew would. I put my hand in his and awaited for what would come next...

*Carith grabbed the boy jerking him up by his arm,he went straight up into the air landing on Cariths back,Carith stuck his lightsaber into the floor spinning cutting a hole in the floor immediatly after that the door shot open 3 thugs ran in with blasters firing at random as Carith with the boy on his back jumped down the hole Carith made,it sent them into a spiral as they flew into open area,nothing to touch or land on,There were speeders zipping pass them through the air,Carith made sure the boy was holding on tightly when he landed upon a speeder,he rode on top of it until they came to a landing pad, he grabbed the boy and jumped off, they both ran back to Carith ship getting in....The ship began to lift from the ground,the flame of the thrusters shot out and it zipped off into the atmosphere heading back to the Jedi Council on Corascant*

Before I knew what was going on I was in Cariths ship. I remember falling and landing on a speeder then we got into this ship. Much of what had happened was blocked by Cariths shoulders or head. I sat next to him and looked at the atmosphere as we broke through it. We soon broke through and were in space. I could feel the cold go through the walls of the ship and got a slight chill. I had been in worse conditions and would get through it. I looked to Carith.

"Where are we going?"

I knew most of the core planets and a couple Outer Rim planets but that was it. Just as I was done talking I felt the ship jolt and a blue tunnel began to form around us. I looked at the tunnel and wondered what it was. I then forgot about the tunnel around us and looked back at Carith awaiting an answer.

"My Young friend you shall see in do time,though for what planet we are going to Corascant..I have to report back to the Council"

*Carith clicked a few buttons and leaned back in his chair,he looked over at the boy and spoke*

"Do you know anything of your parents?"

 

[Rev]

I looked to the tunnel once more still staring in awe at it. I was thinking of a story my father told me about Coruscant. A planet that was all city, the capital of the system. I smiled and then he asked me of my parents. I pushed the thought of Coruscant to the back of my head.

"They're both dead... as you know my father was killed and my mother died well giving birth..."

I looked back to Carith not sure of what else he wanted to know.

"What is it you are curious about?"

"Nothing i just needed to know your parents back ground thtas all,Sit back its going to be a long ride"

 

[Rev]

I nodded to him and set my head against the padded seat and gazed out at the blue tunnel. I could feel my eyelids getting heavy and tried to keep them from closing. I couldn't hold out any longer and slowly drifted into a sleep.
