Dalyn idly ran his fingers across the board at the pilot's station of the Beskaryc-class starbomber he had been assigned for this mission, silently apologizing to his own Cyar'ika for not bringing her along. The bomber was different from the ships he usually flew and there had been several embarrassing moments as he familiarized himself with the controls; priming the proton bomb chute while docked had certainly earned more than a few dirty looks from his hodgepodge crew. Still, the thrum of the powerful engines through the hull and the rustle of the verde behind him manning the sensor and weapons conn filled the Singing Badger with a sense of purpose and belonging that had been absent since Mandalore was bombarded. The Werda Verda were coming together nicely - so far as he could tell from his view at the back - and it felt good to be on the move fighting for his people again.

Gritting his teeth behind the visor of his badger-marked helmet while his fantasies of increasingly violent deaths for the Sith responsible played out in his head, Dalyn shook himself and focused after a smack on the pauldron from the Ordo sitting on sensors

"No sign of pirates nor the Empire on our scanner, but there could be a cruiser full of Zeltronian strippers in that Nebula and you wouldn't know until we crashed into them. Are you sure about this? Might be better to let the hut'uun come to us."

"Ner vod," Dalyn began with a bark of laughter as he turned the starbomber toward the Vatol Nebula, "Haatyc or'arue jate'shya ori'sol aru'ike nuhaatyc. Besides, if we were hunting strippers I'd have just strapped you to the front of the ship and followed the way you're head turns."

The hold of the ship filled with snickers and good natured ribbing behind him as Dalyn flipped on the comms and signaled to his other helper on this run. "Singing Badger to Kryze, come in Kryze. We've got pirates to hunt!"

Crystal wasn't very much at home in a starfigher, hell she hardly liked flying speeders. But orders were orders, and she wasn't going to screw this up. It baffled her how these layouts were, though after looking over the manual a few times, she was pretty sure which button dropped the bombs, and which one turned the engines on; least she left the hanger without any issues. One thing she didn't understand though, was what was up with the badger tags; what the hell was a badger anyways? It never made any sense to her.

"Kryze here, I've been ready, lets get a move on!" She replied, before turning her comm off, shaking her head with a sense of confusion. "Singing Badger? Those Solus people have the weirdest sense of humor." She kept the course, following alongside the Musical Badger, or was it Singing Badger? Or was that someone else? Anyways, the important thing was, they were about to go do a thing, and shit was going to get real. Humming to herself, Crystal ran a quick check over her systems, and was rather pleased with how it all looked. Or....least it looked okay to her.

The Nebula loomed before them, a cloud of superheated gasses and rubble, and a horde of enemies just waiting to add their ships to the debris field. Dalyn grinned savagely behind the visor of his helmet and dove the ship forward into the maelstrom, a whoop of excitement echoing through the hold behind him. "Weapons hot and ready, vode, we've got a date with Death tonight! Kryze, follow us in at overwatch but keep visual distance; we don't want them knowing you're here until you're in position to scrap em." The thrumming of the ship power supply grew in intensity as Dalyn activated the shields and guided them along the trade route through the nebula, flying by sight and instinct rather than the flickering navigation panel to his right.

Starstuff and plasma flashed across the viewport as they flew deeper, and it was only from the whump-whump of the rear turret activating that Dalyn realized the motes of light on the port side were the thrusters of a trio of scout ships. Banking hard to port, Dalyn set himself on an intercept course.

"We're going loud, everybody! Weapons team, kill shots on two of them but leave one alive; we need him to lead us to the rest. Oya!"

With the battle looming up ahead, Crystal was rather eager to get into the mix of things, only to be told to hold off on a direct assault for the time being. She scowled, letting out a small sigh, before shrugging it off.

It made sense, lure them into a false sense of security then destroy them. She wasn't being kept out of the fight, she just needed to hold off on going all in. She throttled back on the engines, letting the rest of the ships move past her, before matching the speed of the the flight. "Roger Solus, don't mind me, I'll just twiddle my thumbs in the meantime." She sunk into the chair, keeping her eyes fixed on the scene above her as the rest of the ships began their clash with the pirates. She kept the course though, she just needed a gap to show up so she could punch a hole in their prized warships.

Dalyn's hands flew across the console without thought, adjusting speed and angling the deflector shields toward the three approaching scout fighters. The pre-battle jitters were washed away by a familiar rush of adrenaline as his starbomber screamed through the void and Dalyn felt the savage grin on his lips twist just a little bit wider.

"Alright boys, we're going to punch through their formation and give 'em something to think about! Whichever bastard's on the rear turret, I want lasers chewing up the exhaust on Bogey 3 the moment we pass them! Rikan, corral them with the forward turret so they cant fly wide! Hey Kyrze, swoop in and scrap the one least damaged from my attack run; we want the other one scared and limping home for help!"

The Beskaryc forward turret fired a triple salvo with quick adjustments between, blue lasers burning through space on the right, above, and to the left of the scouts to bracket them in on their path. Dalyn yanked hard on the control yoke and pitched the starbomber onto its vertical axis, slipping through the space between so close he fancied he could have knocked on the cockpit of one fighter, and felt the whump of the rear turret tracing a line of fire behind them followed by a cry of "OYA!" through the ship comms.

Banking hard to follow the scouts, Dalyn caught sight of the dispersing debris cloud and laughed as he resumed the chase. Gods, he loved flying!

Unlike her more cheerful companion, Crystal did not enjoy flying. No, not one bit. She watched with confusion as the first pair of ships started their attack run, a colorful of lights played across the display as she merely watched the explosions ripple across the newly created battle field.

When Dalyn gave the order to strike, she jumped at the opportunity, throttling up the engines as she rocketed into the scene. The gun crew opened up as Crystal beline it towards the target, her hand lingering over the release for the payload. One proton torpedo shot forth, flying ahead as it slammed into one of the less battered ships, tearing a breach into its side as an array of flames and vented crew men gushed from the new wound. Crystal pulled back on the yoke, as the ship veered upwards from the carnage, then she tucked and turned backwards, making a pass of the scene of carnage, looking for another target to strike. Dalyn seemed to be enjoying himself, which was good, because she wasn't. A sense of nausea crawled at her gut, as her ship took the maneuvers to heart. "Solus, I thought you said this was going to be a challenge." Crystal called out to the man, hiding the fact that she wasn't taking well to space flight at the moment. She hoped there was more to do than just this.
