Though it never manifested outwardly, Jayna hadn’t even begun to recover from the turmoil in her family. Only days had passed since the Heiress had been effectively disowned by her fathers, cut off from the family and resources that she’d known since birth, cut off from the man she had idolized with every breath she drew. There were few people in the Galaxy that could truly hurt her, and the ardent disapproval of her own family was something that destroyed the Heiress in ways she couldn’t put into words.

It seeded doubt into the very core of what she was doing, when perhaps nothing else could.

There was little opportunity to mend the rift within her family, and Jayna had no intention of vocalizing her pain to anyone else. Instead, she dealt with her problems - ironically - in much the same way that her father might. By burying herself within the work that she’d so publicly promised to the Galaxy.

Her silvery eyes turned to the economic powerhouse of Sarapin - independent since the collapse of the Republic. For centuries, the volcanic world had been the main source of energy for the Core Worlds - its geothermal reserves supplying power to trillions. Without the protection of its standing government, many had sought to capitalize on the wealth and importance of the world - coinciding with the rise and piracy within the region. For months, pirates had made base on one of the moons of Sarapin - frequently raiding the shipping vessels and attacking power facilities to capture their valued cargo. None had made attempts to aid the planet due to the overarching threat of Raze and the Hapans.

And it left Jayna with the perfect opportunity to present herself as a solution to the problem.

And it was for that reason that Jayna had brought Apex. She’d helped to bring Aden into the corporation personally, and her own sister was someone that the Heiress was confident she could trust. The promise of substantial payout for Apex from the locals - and even more important support for Jayna’s cause - was guaranteed upon success.

Their arrival on the planet has been deliberately kept a secret - ensuring that the pirates were yet unaware of their presence. Jayna was dressed in her own tactical attire - sporting a blast vest and armor, with a simple pistol strapped to her hip. The Heiress stood within a conference room where a Holotable had been established, a diagram of the pirate facility projected before them.

It wouldn’t be long before the others joined her, and Jayna kept her eyes on the table in the meantime - picking apart every detail before they arrived.

Although they'd spoken of it little, Arla had heard just the faint mentions of what had occurred between Jayna and the rest of the family, and she had opted not to pry. No surprise given who she was and how their family was, but despite Jayna's sudden lapse in funds, Arla was still here. If the job didn't pay out, she'd pay out of her own pocket for those who fought today. She'd made decent money for herself across the board, and other than business expenses, the Apex CEO's other expenses were remarkably low. Perhaps that was the result of not yet becoming accustomed to the high life.

Of course, the resources she could pull from Apex were slightly reduced but she saw it as a gamble worth taking. Call it an investment in her sister that she believed would pay off in the long run. She knew something of Jayna's long term plans and the role Apex could take and she had faith not only in her sister, but in their shared blood. Thorne blood simply wouldn't quit.

She could sense the hidden turmoil within her sister, but still said nothing about it. Jayna would open up when she was ready or not at all.

Jayna, she said with a nod of greeting and a smile that was about as bubbly as Arla ever got. Arla had always been the black sheep of the family, and in many ways she was still coming to terms with it. Perhaps she felt some greater degree of bonding with her sister now than she had even before.

I brought three of my Sisters from the Wandering Stars as well as a platoon of warriors, she said. Most of the Apex employees operated in teams of four with four teams together making up a full "platoon" of sixteen. She had left the planning of aerial assets to Aden. She was one step away from useless in a dogfight, and Apex's assets in that area were still branching out with only a handful of small vessels, but it would expand in time.

How chaos can unfold in the galaxy so quickly, so unexpected, and how it unfolds so fast, spreading like a wild fire...

Sarapin - although not as highly lauded as the old Republic founding worlds - was a valuable planet of strategic importance of spite of being a volcanic world due to the sheer amounts of energy it can produce and export, it's no wonder it has a pirate infestation.

Aden would then arrive into the conference room, wearing a flight suit, matching bomber jacket, and helmet held on his right hip. He would nod towards Jayna - who brought Aden into Apex - then to Arla -the CEO of Apex. - "Good day to you both" he said to both. Jayna looks very different in tactical gear than she did in the business outfit she wore at their previous meeting. The spacer would see the pirate facility in hologram form at the table, he would study it. The Senior Contractor was being brought in for this mission, and he would have planning and leading the aerial wing in a sortie. The said aerial wing was a collection of fighters and freighters, and depending on what they are up against in the briefing, he would plan and allocate as needed.

"Alright, what all are we up against"
he asked. He was eager to see some action.

Jayna kept her gaze locked to the strategic table - picking apart every detail that was highlighted in azure pixelation. Despite her extensive martial training, it was the first time that the Heiress had decided to personally participate in a mission of such scale. It was important that the people saw Jayna in direct line of fire - fighting as diligently as she claimed on the HoloNet. It was entirely out of her comfort zone, and drove her to be as prepared as physically possible.

It wasn’t until the arrival of her sister that Jayna glanced up from the table - her lips tugging just barely towards the hints of a smile. “Arla,” She said, the typical icy, Thorne demeanor melting the slightest degree. Her own sister was someone that Jayna had grown closer to in recent months, someone that she knew she could rely upon through thick and thin. The fact that Arla had agreed to the mission and was prepared to supply forces wasn’t something the Heiress would soon forget.

“I am sure they’ll be more than enough. Thank you,” She said with a nod. Her attention, then, flicked to Aden. To the man she had personally recruited into Apex not long ago. Another investment she was thanking herself for. “And you, Mr. Archer.”

“Very well then,”
She gestures back to the table to brief the both of them. “This particular band of pirates have fortified themselves on one of the moons of Sarapin - located here,” She enhanced the complex itself. There was the clear outline of shield generators and multiple hangar bays, outfitted for numerous pirate vessels and cargo ships. “Ironically enough, in a base meant to protect the planet and its resources.”

“Our forces should be enough to overwhelm them in a fight straight, but I doubt they’ll give us the opportunity. Their base is equipped with shield generators and artillery. They’ll pick us off before we can even touch them.”

She gestured outward. “The only time they leave, is to conduct their raids of energy shipments leaving the planet - targeting cargo freighters before they are clear to make the jump to hyperspace.”

Jayna paused for a moment, piercing together the plan within her mind. “My suggestion would be to place ourselves and the bulk of our manpower onto one of these cargo freighters, and allow the pirates to attempt a boarding.” She glanced up to both of them. “They won’t be expecting us. It might give us the opportunity to take over their vessel and guide it back into the base without suspicion. If we’re able to disable their shield generators from the inside?”

She looked over to Archer. “Your aerial forces would have free reign of the atmosphere.”

Good to see you, she said with a nod as Aden arrived. They'd met and she knew of his reputation, but the two of them hadn't actually worked together directly yet.

Arla listened as Jayna explained her thoughts on their best course of action, and she nodded.

They've got a full size Corvette for boarding, but they shouldn't be ready to be counter-raided, she said. In a tight hallway, a handful of Force-users were an absolute nightmare to deal with, and that was what ship-to-ship combat was.

I wouldn't bank on being able to take the ship without them knowing, however, she added.

They'll launch about a half-dozen ship-to-ship fighters that you will have to engage, she said to Aden.

Aden listened to what was said and looked at the holoprojection of the base. That shield is a problem, but it looks like a plan was made to get past the shield, and it's a good one in Aden's opinion. Adem smiled when mentioned that he would have free reign. Just the way he likes it. Although as the CEO mentioned, there is a chance they that it won't go unnoticed.

Aden would reply. "Sounds good." he said. "If I may, I'll take two squadrons, that should be more than adequate to deal with the pirate fighters and neutralize their defenses in a timely manner."

He he asked of. Aden was confident that he could take down pirate scum once the shield goes down, even if their defenses are so heavily fortified
