Does the ghost of Evil! Picard still haunt us to this day?

It's not so much Evil!Picard. There was pretty solid clues pointing to Ahsoka, between the symbol on the Fort Anaxes crates and the fact that Fulcrum's voice clearly sounds like Ashley Eckstein when you change the pitch. But once I saw that Fulcrum has a human-looking appearance (assuming it's not a false image), I started thinking otherwise. Then I remembered that Simon Kinberg said awhile back how surprised he was at the direction the show ended up going with Ezra's parents, which makes me think they have something to do with the Rebel Alliance.

Who knows? Maybe I'm just softening expectations so I'm not as disappointed, since I'm invested in Fulcrum!Ahsoka.

I'm ok with that spoiler, given how far behind I am. I'd really like to catch up with this show.

SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS!!!!

OMG that episode was awesome. Kinda sad with the Inquisitors apparent death, but if the rule of screen applies then he's probs still alive as we didn't see a body. Then again, maybe next season we get introduced to a new Inquisitor and its a running theme that these guys are just disposable. The Inquisitors last fight was AWESOME and Im sure some people will have a field day with the fact his lightsaber got destroyed because of the blaring design flaw. XD

Of course, with the new 'solution' I kinda feel like there aint no need for an Inquisitor anymore. I also really like how Tarkin never actually shows an attitude of defeat, just kind of moves on. Although there was one part where it looked like there was fear in his eyes. o_O

BIGGER SPOILERS.

So Fulcrum is Ahsoka and thats awesome as! It was kind of expected at this point honestly, but if they bump her up to main character status, I cant wait to see how she got through Order 66 and if she knows who Vader is. Also, with Bail appearing that could mean we get to see Leia and maybe even other characters related to them, like Padmes cousin who's name escapes me, but in the EU she was one of Leias friends/confidents. Im just really glad the show didn't pull a fast one and build up to Fulcrum being on the ship, but not showing who it actually was until Ep 1 of Season Two like some shows have done before. Seeing Ahsoka made me very happy. ^_^ SHES ALIVE!!!! <3 Although...

BIGGEST SPOILER!!!!

With Vader showing up, does this mean Season Two will be Vader vs the Crew of the Ghost? I mean, the whole Fulcrum revelation was really more than enough, but to follow it up with the big bad himself. Right now I really don't want to think about what this could mean for Ahsoka, bringing her in then immediately showing up her revelation with the fact her old master is supposed to be an alternative solution to the Rebel problem. It makes me worry. :/

On a side note, I like that Kallus is still around. Hopefully he gets more in the second season. I feel like a rivalry between him and Zeb could be epic and I really just want to see more of the character. All in all, I loved the episode. Also, the Special Tie Fighter gag was actually pretty funny, especially when two stormtrooper see it. Made me laugh.

Bring on Season Two!!!! :D

HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYY AAAAAHHHHHSSSSSSSOOOOOOKKKKKAAAAAA!!!!!!!

I'm not kidding when I say this: I saw the Togruta headtails, lekku, right? And I was like no way, then I was like yes way! And then, I kid you not, I had a seizure on the couch. Probably scared the crap out of my dog. Then Vader comes up, and I fell off the couch with jelly legs. I just regained consciousness. Best. Episode. Ever.

So I'm watching the episode and all I can think of is about how TIE fighters have life support systems now.

Now this was an interesting episode.

Stepping aside the obvious reveals and teases for season 2, I just love how many references and calls forward and backward the episode had, from the lightsaber duel being Phantom Menace take 2, to Tarkin having to consider leaving his ship (in this case, a clear loss even arrogance will allow). It gives older fans something to recollect, and new fans some links if they go on to watch the films. It was all just really nice to watch.

On the matter of reveals and teases though:
]
  • Of course Kanan picks up dual wielding just as Ahsoka appears. Of course.
  • Also, saving the Inquisitor's TIE. I'm curious as to who'll use it, but someone clearly will. In universe, the Rebellion gets to wave the fact it took it in the Empire’s face, out of universe, they can keep selling the toy under a new variant. Who knows, maybe Vader will steal it back in time for A New Hope.
  • Lothal isn't razed yet, so I'm guessing it'll see some continued use in season 2. Possibly with the planet as a reflection of the broader conflict. After all, its Tarkin's current residence and the crucible of the Rebellion as active opposition, and thus, a pretty symbolic victory to hold for both sides. Also spares more of the budget.
  • Vader and Tarkin working together should shed some interesting light on their relationship by episode IV. Right now, Tarkin is the one on the wrong foot, having been sent in to solve the problem whilst its just gotten worse. How that'll reverse to what we see eventually, I want to know.
  • And to more directly touch on Ahsoka - I like how they've really aged her appearance, whilst still keeping the general appearance. I imagine it reflects how she's likely changed from her days in Clone Wars. She'll be familiar, but not the same. Also I'm curious if maybe like, Chopper is her droid (the R2 to her Obi-Wan).
I need to watch the Rebel Recon for this episode, but count me excited for season 2 (which will probably be episode V to this season's IV).

It seems to also give a little insight that Tarkin's arrogance may get bigger over time. Here he actually listened to his subordinates' comment to evacuate (granted it was a higher threat) whereas he didn't in A New Hope.

I wonder how the dynamic between Ezra and Fulcrum will develop. Will Fulcrum give Ezra some training? Maybe it's just me, but I liked the idea of Kanaan trying to train Ezra better, as Kanaan himself isn't fully mastered in the Force as well.

I predict a showdown between Fulcrum and Vader in the future. Possibly with Fulcrum dying.

That much seems pretty much given, considering that Fulcrum wasn't around to train Luke, or took part in the greater Rebellion in the 'future' (compared to Rebels that is).

Here's the Rebel Resolve episode:

He'll probably be more of a presence but I doubt he'll be the central villain. At least, not yet. Eventually he'll have to be, per Episode IV.

Not necessarily. One thing that this show has really introduced, and we're seeing it reflected in the wider canon now, is that the Rebel Alliance we see in the original trilogy is not the entire Rebel Alliance. Specifically, in Episode IV and Episode V we just see part of the Rebel Alliance. That's why every Rebel in those two movies is Human, it's a Human-centric element of the Rebellion, probably very Alderaan-heavy. Episode VI is the first time the entire Rebel Alliance comes together for one engagement, so we see non-Humans there too. The reason they all come together in Episode VI is because they're throwing all their cards on the table. The Battle of Endor is either going to lead to the death of the Emperor, or the death of the Alliance.

I say all of that to say that these characters, even Ahsoka, could all still be alive during the events of the original trilogy. They could just be off somewhere else.

That said, I think it's a good bet that Vader kills Ahsoka at some point.

Plot twist: That wasn't Vader at the end, but the Inquistor after his fall.

What a kick in the balls that would be.

Also, bear in mind people. A lot of the Galaxy doesn't know who Lord Vader is. Even Tarkin was uncertain if Vader and Skywalker were the same person.

This will probably be something that gets played on a little in season 2, where Ahsoka isn't aware that Vader = Skywalker.

Basically no one other than the Emperor and Tarkin (who correctly guesses, but never gets official confirmation) know who Vader is.

I agree that we'll see that play out a bit more in Season Two. We'll surely see Ahsoka find out the truth.

I personally bet that the truth will be used to distract her during their climactic duel, and then she becomes more powerful than Vader could possibly imagine.

Also, I'm curious by how, in the Recon video, they stress that Ahsoka, at least in terms of strict affiliation, isn't a Jedi, and yet her current look was designed with the notions that perhaps she'd been digging through some temple and found old armour. Makes me wonder if they'll use her to stress the idea of the Jedi having drifted from the path they should have been following - especially since it would run right up against Kanan's guilt in running from Order 66, and his renewed pride over being a Jedi.

I just caught this on TV.

I loved the inquisitor's little Liu Kang bicycle kick, plus the whole lightsaber and blaster combo reminded me a little of Fantasy Star.
