Currently looking for people to join my story line on finding Iokath (it got approved), I'm making it a story line so it just isn't "I'm all of a sudden on a forgotten planet" and there's a rediscovery of this forgotten planet, if your interested here's the post
Finding Iokath (Part One)

(it'll be changed into Ask after it has begun)

I'm interested, Emerald frequents Tatooine too, though it won't be obvious she is a Jedi at first glance. There may or may not be someone joining me, I know they've been looking for something to do but I haven't heard back from them yet.

EDIT: Shouldn't the title read: Finding Iokath: Part One

It's gonna be multiple parts on different planets, so yeah, it is technically right

I changed the topic to ask due to having four people participating which I think is quite the good number for something such as this

Since you are beginning on a Mandalorian world (Tatooine), and there is a Jedi present (a Mandalorian enemy), the thread must be OPEN to everyone. I have re-opened the thread to reflect this.

@Malon I didn't know the Jedi and Mandos were at war. When did that happen?

Also, I'll be posting tonight when I get home from work.

They might not be officially at war (yet), but they don't need to be in order to be considered enemies. The Mandalorians, as a culture, and in this time period, hate the Jedi.

I wouldn't say that's entirely true. Distrust certainly. And some clans/houses like Ordo and Fett might hate them. But not the culture as a whole.

If we're looking at the lore canon and the site has built — like how the Mandalorians have developed weaponry specifically meant to defeat a Jedi's abilities and to kill said Jedi — coupled with the stance taken by some of the main Houses in the Dominion, it's safe to assume that the culture more than distrusts the Jedi. And they certainly wouldn't be okay with a Jedi running around in their territory unchecked.

They might not be at war, and the tensions might not be to the point where the Mandalorians and the Jedi are in open conflict, but my point is that they don't like each other in any sense. That stance doesn't really soften until the New Mandalorians rise up with their more peaceful doctrine.

Just because they don't like one another, doesn't mean their at war, and as such a Jedi being present doesn't necessitate the thread being open. I'm not looking for PvP in this thread, nor was I even considering the fact that the world was in mando space, which shouldn't matter anyway since this thread only involves the mandos as far as your character is concerned. I have no issue with your PC keeping an eye on Emerald, but I do feel the need to point out that you even wrote in your post that your mando has a history of working with the Jedi, so much so that he recognizes a local arena/pit fighter as a Jedi. Now your saying our factions are nearly at war? Emerald has been spending most of her time in and around Hutt space during the timeskip, mostly on Tatooine. It would make more sense for your character to already know who Emerald is if he's been spending a lot of time on Tatooine.

Personally, I'd like to see the Jedi and Mandos tagteam the empire, which eventually leads into the Mandalorian Wars and then the Jedi Civil War, eventually leading to the rise of the New Republic, also known as the one from the prequels, and the golden age and so on and such. Would allow a fluid timeline that mirrors the one we all know and love but is filled with our own stories and characters. Major events remaining the same, but the smaller aspects being more personalized to the site and our little community of nerdom. Eventually, yes the Jedi and Mandos will most likely be at war, but for now we have a common enemy in the sith. Let's not jump the gun.

Actually, the current timeline has already had those events happen (supposedly) from what I was told on the year we were in BBY wise, The Republic from the PT wouldn't form until...1032 BBY Disney Canon and if we take inspirations from legends The Jedi and Mandos team up against the empire and the republic puts itself in its proper position, and the Jedi and Republic give them a nice big thank you with a surprise glassing of their planets, which is why mandalore is a desert during the clone wars and why The New Mandalorians were in power, the reason why they glassed their planets in legends is in fear of their growing power and a second Mandalorian War.

Our "official" position, @Arclight and @Malon have hit it perfectly, is one of growing tension. There are still "personal" relationships between individual Jedi and Mandos but the larger picture is quickly darkening. For example, my Jedi worked alongside @Relent's Mando on occasions before the TS. Post TS, he wouldn't see her and consider her an enemy. However, if he saw a run of the mill unknown Mando he would be highly suspicious. Frankly put, while we aren't at open war and both factions are focusing on the Empire to a certain extent, the relationship is not good. There is a high potential for border skirmishes ext. Jedi don't want Mando's walking unchecked around their worlds and I image the reverse is true.

My character has dealt with Jedi, yes, but never in a friendly light. He's killed them before and isn't to fond of them, hence his suspicion. Nevertheless, I am with you. I am not looking to PvP either. Just to keep an eye on things. So as long as things aren't escalated, no PvP will occur.

Also, it really isn't "suddenly" that they're at war, or "suddenly" that I'm saying they're at war. It's in the story write-ups for this timeskip. All three major factions are at odds with each other now and, as the Faction Leaders have indicated, are at best tense with each other — to the point where fighting is likely to occur. That's as close to war as you get.

So are we really gonna get paid 85k in credits, or blasted into pink mist by the natives when we get there?

Depends at the time when we get there if I feel like being a true meatbag hating Droid or not, though I'm gonna have some stuff happen on Iokath itself
