Fight Club - Jace Varro vs. Barry Weathers

There had a handful of smaller fights to get the crowd warmed up and ready for an exciting night of fights. There were six fights in total on the main card tonight and they were all sure to be exciting!

Callen stepped into the cage with a card holding the fighters name and information. He held the mic up to his mouth “Ladies and Gentlemen. I hope you have been enjoying yourselves so far, but I think this next flight is going to blow you away!

“These fighters don’t need an introduction but we are giving them one anyway!

“In the red corner we have, coming in at 5’9 and 140 pounds. Jace Varro!" @TheRevanchist

“And in the blue corner! Coming in 6’1 and 180 pounds. Barry Weathers!" @Faster Than Light

The ref stepped up and explained the rules of the fight, of which there were very little and last seconds bets were cast. The ref pointed to each of the fighters ensuring they were ready.

[Barry Weathers]

Alright, here we go. It's time for the fight club fights to begin. Right now it's Barry Weathers vs Jace Varro. Some sort of slicer slash thief vs a former Judicial Forces trooper and Cartel Enforcer. Going by the stats read by the announcer Barry might be considered a favourite on paper. But that's only on paper, still anything can happen and the Cartel Enforcer isn't the one to get overconfident. He's ready, he did some workouts and practice before coming in front of the crowds.

In the octagon, Barry Weathers is already in the ring, starting off 6 meters from his opponent near the center of the ring. He would have his fists put up near shoulder level, all clenched and ready to go. He's giving his opponent the first move, while Barry is ready to defend or go on the attack as needed, or change anything about his gameplan. He's ready to get it on and fight. Lets do this.

[Jace Varro]

Jace stood opposite of Barry as Callen introduced them to the bloodthirsty crowd, raising a fist when his name was announced, a sense of pride rose in him as the crowds roared in response, he knew they were more interested in the promise of blood than him but none of that mattered, Jace was fighting for the hell of it, winning would be nice but, this was just another chance for him to spread his name, hopefully he'd impress someone enough they'd think of him when a job came up.
Raising his fists in front of him he waits for his opponent to act first, only to have him try the same tactic, realizing quickly that it was up to him to make a move first, he slowly advances on his opponent, his weight balanced on the balls of his feet gave his gait a bounce, the teen was glad he'd always been light on his feet, hopefully it would give an advantage on dodging incoming blows..
He was going to have to play smart, the older man being taller and heavier, he'd just have to be faster, try to dodge and wait for the perfect strike.
Having closed the distance between himself and Barry he shoots him a cocky smirk before throwing a taunt as they begin to circle one another, hopefully he'd anger him and he'd lose focus. He'd read he rules and no where did it say you couldn't talk smack.
"Let's give these people a good show, so don't go get knocked out too fast, try and make it look like you tried to win."
Still smirking the cocky youth still circling his opponent, he figures the crowd has reached an appropriate level of anticipation, it was time to act. Shifting his weight to his right foot, he steps forward as he shoots a quick jab towards Barry's head, testing his defences, ready to pull back quickly should Barry decide counter.

The younger man seems energetic, and Barry smiled as he was talking. This is all a fun sport to to the Cartel enforcer. He didn't have anything to say back though, his mind is on the game at hand. The first punch was thrown by Jace, a jab towards Barry's head. He ended up going for the first move just like as the Hosnian Prime native wanted. Barry already had his stance ready and was prepared to defend against such basic and straight forward moves. Before the jab could hit Barry's head, the former Judicial Forces member would act to parry it by knocking it down with his right fist quickly. The other man might be nimble, but Barry doesn't move in slow motion either. The other man would too far committed to his strike to pull back at this moment.

Right after the strike would be parried, he would throw a straight hard punch with his right hand, going above the other man's arm where that side would be exposed, aiming to hit the smaller person hard and fast in the chin. Barry didn't need to overextend either, the other man would have less reach and Jace also stepped forward as he jabbed and his other hand wouldn't be in an ideal position to block. Meanwhile, Barry would still have his other fist ready to use as needed and ready to adjust his footwork as needed.

 

[Jace Varro]

Jace wasn't surprised when his opponent blocked his first strike, he hadn't been trying to do anything fancy after all, however he was caught off guard seeing a fist come flying towards his unguarded face, he was going to be hit, no question about that. With his arm now to low to block he does the next best thing and attempts to dodge.
Throwing his weight, and head back as far as he comfortably can he, he feels Barry's fist connect with his chin, while stopping the full force it was enough for the youth to feel dazed, as he stumbles back. 'figures I'd be paired with someone who actually knows what he's doing..' he complained internally, he was most likely going to be drug out of here ring after this match. Returning to circling his opponent Jace is more worry than he had been.
"Hey 'bout what I said earlier... Try not to knock me out too fast eh?"
he calls out to the older man, trying to think of his next move the man had reach and from the way he held himself more training, he'd try the waiting game and let his opponent move, maybe he'd have better luck that way.. Jace couldn't help but doubt that.

[Barry Weathers]

Barry internally smirked as his first shot landed at the other man. Once it hit and the other man was stumbled backwards, the Cartel Enforcer was now in the thick of it and had no intentions of letting his momentum fade away, he would instead aim to capital instead capitalize. With the first shot of his landed he intends to keep this a fast-paced melee. 'Don't relent' as they say. If he keeps this up that might give him the W, therefore the prize money and street cred.

Back to the fight. Barry will pick off where he left off and not wait for his opponent to do start doing as he pleases. Right once the younger man stumbled back, Barry moved forward instinctively as to keep pace with Jace, quickly making one step forward with his right foot. While doing that he would shoot another straight punch forward aimed at Jace's nose with his right hand. Jace would still be in range and hasn't began circling yet (and speaking for that matter). With the other man also feeling dazed, he might have trouble defending himself as well. Barry still had his left fist raised as well, and once again ready to adjust his footwork as needed.

[Jace Varro]

Dazed Jace wondered if anyone got the ID of the guy who just hit him with his speeder after the second hit connected with his nose, he didn't think it was broken, it sure felt like it though.
Trying to pull away wasn't working so he did the only option left to do in his foggy mind, go forward. Shifting his weight forward he attempts to push in close and putting all that he could behind his right to strike the man in the side of his lower abdomen, going for a kidney shot, he brings his other hand swinging up towards the man head.
Hopefully it'd be enough to at least make contact, all he wanted, no needed was to land a hit and not go down having not touched his opponent, he wouldn't impress anyone like that, losing was one thing, getting your ass handed to you with hardly a fight was another.
@Faster Than Light​

 

[Barry Weathers]

Still keeping with his plan to get this a fast-paced melee and beat the other guy down, right after his previous attack landed as planned, Barry would then twist his upper body just a tad and then use that to put more oomf into a hook coming right from Barry's left hand, aiming to smash the left side of his jaw, potentially ending the bout. He didn't overextend either with his reach While at the same time, Barry would pull his other hand in a ready position with his hand clenched like his fighting stance, that it would be ready for defense or be pulled back for offense. The left hook should come the same time a the other man's kidney shot, which Barry couldn't avoid. So he would feel the power the other man had, it hurts and Barry had to skid back two feet as he gritted his teeth, still it's' going to take more than that to put the Cartel Enforcer down, he would ready for action as he is skidding back and afterwards.

The other man's second attack would be interrupted however from Barry's left hook. The Jace should be reeling from hits to be able to press the attack. Barry would of course have his eyes on his opponent and see if he should jump right back into the fray or play it safe

[Barry Weathers]

The other man was knocked out with Barry's left hand hook, sealing the win. After Jace's body would slump to the ground, the referee, who while keeping tabs on the fight from the outside and making sure there was no cheating was going on, would verify that he is indeed out. Leaving Barry Weathers to stand in the center of the ring, smile and raise his hand in victory.
